General

  • Both The Lost Vikings and Leoric are flooding our RISK team with intentional feeding false positives. To keep ARAM as healthy as possible we are temporarily removing them from the mode.
  • Map
    • Tower, Fort, and Keep damage to enemy Heroes increased by 10%.
    Developer Comment: We’ve given our tower changes some time to settle, and while we like how their current targeting mechanism works, we believe we went a little too far in lowering their damage. We’re giving them some of their teeth back so that enemies who tower dive have a little less time to hang around in their opponent's base before they have to disengage.
  • Healing Fountains
    • Health and Shield values swapped. The Shield value now accounts for 75% of the total Health.
    • Shield regeneration rate increased to 10% of total Shields per second.
    Developer Comment: We've heard feedback that players dislike how their Healing Fountains can be sniped by the opposing team early in the game. While we agree that this can be frustrating, we don't want to completely remove alternative strategies for creating an advantage. We're experimenting with a change to move the total Health of the Healing Fountains to be much more in favor of a Shield that quickly regenerates instead of Health. This should make it riskier for players to snipe Healing Fountains, as they will not get any value unless they destroy the building, while also rewarding players who are able to protect their Healing Fountains early in the game.

Developer Comment: Historically Anub’arak has always been on a razor’s edge of being wildly popular and powerful or not part of the meta with small changes having a large effect on his perception. We’re giving him a small Health buff and some adjustments to his late-game talents, which we believe will bring him more to the forefront again as a powerful initiator for his team.

Developer Comment: While we like the somewhat chaotic, raid-boss feel of Enraged Regeneration and its healing debuff, we believe its duration is too long for how often the debuff can be applied to enemies, particularly at later stages of the game due to its synergies with talents like Twilight Nova. Because of this, we’re heavily reducing its duration so that enemy Healers have larger windows of opportunity to play around its debuff.

Developer Comment: Diablo has recently risen in the ranks to once again being a high demand Warrior for his team. Overall, his talents are in a fairly good place, but we want to fix a design issue where Diabolical Momentum is simply too good at doing everything since it has synergy with all of his other potential ways of playing. To reduce its power and help his Level 7 tier be more diverse, we’re removing its ability to reduce the cooldown of Fire Stomp and giving Eternal Flames a boost in its role as a key talent for players who want to build around the ability.

Developer Comment: Currently, particularly at higher levels of play, many players are favoring Destroyer form over World Breaker. We’re moving some power from Destroyer Form into Worldbreaker to incentivize players to switch between forms more often as the situation demands. We also believe the energy buff to Worldbreaker form makes more sense for Deathwing, as he is naturally more incentivized to use Molten Flame in this form after using his other abilities to control opponents’ movements in choke points, but would often find himself unable to use Molten Flame as often due to being at low energy after using his other abilities to set it up.

Developer Comment: D.Va has come out swinging with her new rework, and while she is still within our normally acceptable bounds of performance, she is at the upper end and we feel she can use a little toning down. We’re reducing her Basic Attack damage as a baseline nerf and lowering the power of Rush Down, which should bring in line many of the more powerful and popular ways to play her. We still want and expect her to be a force to be reckoned with and will be keeping an eye on her to see if more tuning changes are needed down the road.

Developer Comment: Gazlowe came out a bit low with his rework, so we’re pulling back on a lot of nerfs that were made during the design process which were done with the fear that he would be too powerful. We believe these changes to both his base kit and to underperforming talents will bring him up to par with other Bruisers, and, similar to D.Va, solidify his place as an effective member of his team.

We’re reducing its frequency and the amount of the Movement Speed bonus to be more reasonable for a buff that Yrel can apply to herself.

Developer Comment: Kerrigan’s talent tiers generally have one talent that most people are using, followed by the other two talents on the tier having decent parity. We’re giving some buffs to her alternate talents to become more attractive choices, which should allow for more diverse ways to play her.

Developer Comment: Samuro is a difficult Hero to use that has gotten a lot of mileage for those who take the time to learn how to play him. Despite his niche status, he has slightly gone over the edge of what we believe to be a little too powerful and frustrating to play against, so we’re reducing the power of a couple overperforming talents as well as how slippery he is to catch and kill once caught out.

Arcane Intellect should now be a fairly viable Mana-restoring talent for players who don’t want to pick Fingers of Frost at Level 1, which should open more possible build opportunities.

Developer Comment: We saw some feedback that Unspeakable Horror is a little bit awkward to use since it doesn’t Silence players while they are Rooted by Durance of Hate. We agreed and saw an opportunity to do a few other changes while we looked at him.

Developer Comment: For the most part Sylvanas has fairly good talent diversity, but we wanted to tinker a little bit to make it better. Her heroics have the least talent parity in her tree, so we’re experimenting with giving Mind Control a simple buff that should help in its role at finding a single, vulnerable target to kill.

Developer Comment: Plasma Shield is simply a little too good at giving Tassadar survivability, which is an intended weakness of the hero since he brings so many other things to the table. We’re reducing its power as well as buffing Black Hole and its Level 20 Mastery, Kugelblitz.

Developer Comment: Similar to Samuro, Tracer is closing in on being too powerful despite her niche status. We’re slightly reducing her overall power with a Basic Attack damage nerf and buffing some of her underused talents.

Developer Comment: We made some changes to Tychus’s late-game talents and have seen much better talent diversity from those efforts. We’re doing the same thing with his early-game picks here, which we think will overall make him a much more exciting and fun Hero to play.

I prefer Dva's Full Metal build so not nerfed yet aside from Micro Missiles.

Ana nerf is annoying. Don't think she needed that.

Uther buff to give armour to those healed affected by status affects is pretty nice though. Less globes for Alex, always good.

Samuro nerf seems a little mean. That guy is hard to play well as is. Seems like a personal attack on like .01% of the community. :p

Tracer will still be OP since she is paired with Abathur anyways. And her mobility is what gives her an edge. That wasn't nerfed either.

Cho'Gall nerf doesn't look too big. Just removed the perma stun. But that assumes enemies survive long enough to be affected by it.

I guess Deathwing got a buff? Not sure why it needed a nerf to go with it though. At this point, lots of characters can deal with him.

Imperius and Yrel nerfs seem ok. A Gazlowe buff. I think he's already strong but I don't use those talents either, so guess it makes sense.

Nope. With the Incinerate nerf he's now got zero legitimate builds anymore and no good reason for anyone to ever pick him. He's a bruiser who does no damage, and a pretty easy one to burst down now as well.  The reason why NOBODY uses anything but Destroyer form is because that's the form with the escape in it. Reducing the energy usage of Lava Burst is not what's wrong with it, it's lack of range, AoE and damage (which a single point increase is not going to fix) is what's wrong with it. If the casting time was quicker, if the AoE was larger, if the slow was increased (even if it was increased over time like the mud in Alterac Pass) if it had some or all of those things, then hell, I would happily have it do NO damage in return for those.

But as it stands they have nerfed Deathwing at every turn until he's no longer viable to play in anything now, since even his Incinerate build is doing substantially less damage thanks to these nerfs. He has NOTHING LEFT.

Honestly Blizzard just needed to nerf his survivability. They will continue nerfing him as long some certain talents exist. Same with ETC, which ever since got a rework on Encore became one of the most oppressive tanks ever, as now he can reset the CD of Mosh Pit at ease.

Or they fully restore him, but now he can cause friendly fire damage.

      All Quests that can lose stacks will never cause the player to fall below milestone thresholds. Pinnacle Rewards are now named Mythic Rewards to give a more Blizzard feel. So Mythic-y! The following Summoned Units now lose health each second: Demon Lieutenants, Demon Warriors, Gargantuan, Hydralisks, Roaches, Rock-It Turrets, Rush Zombies, Scarabs, Treants, Tumors, and Water Elementals. Total Health and Duration of these Summoned Units have been adjusted to compensate for this. Structures now prioritize Summoned Units when there are no remaining minions. Summoned Units no longer take half damage from Structures. XP Globe pickup sound is now also played when killing a minion that instantly yields XP. Updated Homescreen and Startup Music. Return to Top

      Players will now receive an announcement when a quest milestone is reached. This will only announce to the player who achieved the milestone. Ranges of abilities on numerous Heroes have been updated to be more consistent. This may cause certain abilities ranges to reduce or increase.       General A new Fallback Tower has been added to the longer lanes on each of the following battleground maps. This new tower will die when its corresponding Fort dies: Alterac Pass, Battlefield of Eternity, Blackheart's Bay, Braxis Holdout, Cursed Hollow, Dragon Shire, Garden of Terror, Hanamura Temple, Infernal Shrines, Sky Temple, Tomb of the Spider Queen, Volskaya Foundry, and Warhead Junction. Attacks from the Core, Keeps, Forts, Fallback Towers, and Towers near Keeps will now reduce Hero armor, and the reduction has been increased from -10/-20 Armor to -20/-40 Armor. Fallback Towers have the same HP and Attack Damage as Keep Towers. Forts, Keeps, and the Core will no longer grant Allied Heroes that take damage in their radius 35 Armor for 4 seconds. The comeback system has been slightly magnified, particularly at wide level gaps. Alterac Pass Objective capture timer reduced by 5 seconds in each phase. The first phase only spawns a single defending unit. Cavalry now gain more health in the later stages of the game. Cavalry now take 60% damage from structures (up from 50%). Braxis Holdout Early objectives have lowered in health by 15%, but scaling has been increased significantly after 15 minutes. Garden of Terror Garden Terror health scaling increased. Garden Terror structure disabling plant bulb now damages itself at 10% per second (up from 6%). Infernal Shrines Early objectives have lowered in health by 15%, but scaling has been increased significantly after 15 minutes. Warhead Junction Nuke damage has been changed to flat, scaling damage. Scaling is updated when a Warhead is picked up. Nukes now deal double damage versus Forts, Keeps, and the Core. Return to Top

At 45 hits, gain an additional 75% damage and reduce the cooldown by 2 seconds. Pinnacle Reward: At 75 hits, Lightning Rod provides 2 additional strikes and Stuns for 1.25s on its last strike. Frequent Flyer REWORK: Reduced attack speed bonus from 40% to 25%. Now provides 1 stack per minion and 5 stacks per Hero. At 50 stacks, gain 20 Attack Damage. At 125 stacks, gain an additional 50 Attack Damage. Pinnacle Reward: At 300 stacks, gain an additional 125 Attack Damage. At 20 stacks, reduce mana cost of Chain Lightning by 20. At 40 stacks, Chain Lightning gains an extra charge and will bounce one additional time. Pinnacle Reward: At 100 stacks, Chain Lightning will fork to an additional target each time it bounces. Rolling Thunder Moved to be a Level 7 Talent. No longer increases Chain Lightning bounces by 1. Level 7 Maelstrom Weapon Moved to be a Level 1 Talent. REWORK: Bonuses are now provided at 20/40/100 stacks, rather than incremental gains. When clicking near or on a target, it will attach to that target, but if no targets are nearby, Overkill will start firing in that direction. If Overkill hits a target while firing in a direction, that target will become Overkill's primary target. If Overkill is active when there are no possible targets, Overkill will no longer be cancelled, and instead will start firing in the direction of the last primary target. Fixed an issue that caused mounting to not interrupt Overkill. Valla Base Hatred [D] Fixed Hatred Tooltip.
