Most Wanted Diablo 4 Classes

Recommended Posts

Three quarterly updates in and we still don't know what the remaining two classes will end up being in Diablo 4 (unless you count the rumors). Redditor pisulanu has compiled a whole bunch of polls into one big chart detailing which classes people are most excited for and would like to see return.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Necromancer won out, but not by much, and somewhat disappointingly the Assassin ranked last among the old-school Diablo 2 classes. The rest is a mix of D1 and D3 classes, as well as plenty of original concepts (with Magda and Queen Aranae also making an appearance because reasons - although a Ghom playable class sounds pretty great):

We're hoping for some of the original concepts to show up and mix things up a bit, but it seems the old favorites are the massive front-runners, which makes sense.

Paladin and Amazon seem most likely, due to popularity and niches they have to fill - someone who specializes in ranged weapons and melee with shield. Though it would be nice to see something else for a change, a demon hunter or witch doctor, maybe a new class altogether. But this is unlikely, since they want to double down on that Diablo 2 nostalgia. Perhaps a little too much.

How is that something else? We've been living with those classes in Diablo 3 for over 8 years.

Something else, as not being from Diablo 2 in this context.

Warrior is high up there? In which version of the game there was a Warrior alongside Barbarian? Even if they add it in D4 how different would it be than Barb?

Yea there's no way Warr and Barb show up in the same game. I just reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally hope they try something new, even if it's later in an expansion or DLC. The monk is my favorite D3 class and it was new (although the WD is my least fav so go figure).

Seems most logical to add a sword and board type of character. Ranged with bow (amazon probably before demon hunter). Or a necromancer (some character around pets). Of course one of them will not make it at launch. I guess a paladin kind of character will not make the cut since we already have 2 melee type classes with a barbarian and druid.

But if you ask me what i would like to see than it probably would be a demon hunter or another ranged class around multishot. As i prefered to clear vast ereas of enemies with one (or multiple) shots while being fragile and quick (dying all the time). Pure glass canon.

My second character pick would be a demon melee/pet character that can spawn demons. (not to much. around 3-5 of them). Bit more durable than a necromancer in combat. But still with pets. I would like to do some fun stuff with them like making them attack and explode. Or let them hunt down ranged/spellcasters.

Bard class please, thanks.

YES! I would be all about this. I've never really seen it implemented outside of D&D and RIFT, and it's about time Blizzard opened the door IMO.

Buddy you say you don't want a rehash of D2,Fine not everyone wants a rehash of D3 either,You say something new well a rehash of D3 content isn't new.If it's new you want let it be new and not a rehash of D3

In fact as you indicated something New  perhaps little or nothing of D3 should be brought into D4  as little or nothing of D2 was brought into D3, Starting perhaps with a Bard,Cleric,Swashbuckler?

In fact since we have a Barb,Druid,Sorceress I don't see why we can't have a Amazon............................Is it because someone doesn't like like the Amazon? How is that fair since 'I' Never liked the Druid however I didn't and don't have issues with the people who do like the Druid can play one,As long as 'I' get to play a Amazon,Tho I suppose a Ranger would suffice

Here's another quick loot luck post, as some players just have it and then some. We've seen double Uniques from a single Treasure Goblin already, but this is even more extreme. Millertiimme took down Ashava and managed to get a triple Ancestral Unique drop! While we don't know exactly what the boots, ring and gloves were, they were definitely welcome!
What has been some of your best loot luck so far?

There's persistence and then there's... persistence. MrFrodoBeggins certainly shows the latter as he not only completed 1270 cellars in 3 days, but also documented his loot, locations, experience gained, Treasure Goblins found, Obols acquired, Butchers encountered and more!

So let's take a look at this huge breakdown of a very large mount of cellar clears, separated into the game's zones. You should definitely read the whole thing below, but here are some highlights:

3 Butcher run-ins 21 Treasure Goblins (7 packs of 3, as that's how they spawn in Cellars) 6352 Obols 13 Uniques 200 Legendaries 82,693,064 XP (taking them from level 84 to 89) Around 80,000,000 gold
MrFrodoBeggins' conclusion is that Cellars are very much not worth it and actively slow you down. The main takeaway from this experience has been... that there isn't enough variety in loading screens. Which makes a lot of sense if you look through 2540+ of them in 3 days. Here are his (not too serious) suggestions:

The character has a terribly small collection radius, you need to walk the character directly on grass, ore, gold ....... to collect! Dropping some currency and things from mobs is terribly long, maybe if it's 1-2 things you can put up with, but when hundreds and thousands of times it's very annoying... I have seen sooo many loading screens, the drawings are very beautiful and interesting, maybe you will organize a competition among artists and make hundreds of different drawings on the theme of Diablo 4, and give them your 1.5 seconds of fame. I think that over time, all people will get tired of the same thing, even beautiful.
Obviously we can't confirm these number as it's an individual player's findings, but we see no reason they'd be fabricated.

And there we have it! All of the ultra-rare/chase items have been found and confirmed with images or video! The final piece was the Melted Heart of Selig necklace and it dropped earlier today.

Spotted by AnyComputer, a Necromancer player had the item drop in Blind Burrows, and AnyComputer even translated it for us!

Source: Melted Heart of Selig dropped today.

This one isn't one of the more wanted ultra-rares, which may also be the reason why we've seen it last. Many players may have just salvaged it without even knowing it was something special, as it's effect isn't that impressive.

As we already mentioned in previous posts, these almost certainly aren't the first ones dropped and there are many more than have been reported out there (just without image or video proof) so their rarity is a little over-represented. They are still very rare, however, and most of us probably won't be seeing them any time soon.

The final 5 arrived in the past week after Harlequin's Crest was found relatively soon after launch. You can find them here: Andariel's Visage; The Grandfather; Doombringer; Ring of Starless Skies. If you really really want to throw a lot of time into maybe, possibly, probably not getting these, here are the spots for "farm" them in.

Here they all are in all their glory:

We've seen them run as soon as you engage them, we've seen them drop two Uniques at the same time, but this, this is something new. I suppose it was only a matter of time before the treasure carrying ones took their sweet sweet revenge. A high level Hardcore player had a very rude awakening recently after dropping their guard around the little ones. The goblin didn't have any assistance, was the only thing in the room, and yet it still got the kill.
Killthuzad was running a tier 37 Nightmare Dungeon and really showcases just how easy it is to lose a character on Hardcore.

Death Pulse does say that the pulse a monster leaves after death is "deadly", but this is on a whole new level! The goblin was level 91, however, so perhaps this isn't that surprising, but it sure was unexpected. Killthuzad's reaction is very much on point as that is definitely the weirdest way I've seen of someone losing their character.
If you want to see the rest of the death reaction you can head over here.

Here's another report on one of the rarest Unique drops in the game! A player has received The Grandfather, the crit damage heaven two handed sword. Dropped from an event chest during a Helltide, it's sporting solid rolls, multiplying all the player's crit damage by 84%!
The player sharing the image is level 76, but the player being inspected is level 100, so they may have had it for quite a while already.
This isn't necessarily (or even likely) the first of these that has dropped, but we haven't spotted anyone posting about it before. Now all that's left for that player is to get ANOTHER one with a better roll! Here's the weapon's non-Chinese stats:

Blizzard recently shared some information on the 6 ultra-rare Uniques and how they can drop. We also saw a handy infographic going over where the best place is to farm for them over here.
