Players Join Protests Against Blizzard France In-Game

Recommended Posts

Activision Blizzard is planning to close down Blizzard offices in Versailles, and so the union representing Blizzard workers went on strike, and we have players joining the strike in-game.

French streamer ZoltanTV shared a screenshot of players protesting against Blizzard EU in the game. Even though I fail to comprehend how paying one's monthly subscription to a company that you protest against counts as protesting (I obviously mean the players here not Zoltan), but here goes nothing!

Zoltan is one of the biggest WoW streamers in France, so not showing the prepatch the day it went out is a small but good way to protest at this. And he's raising awareness in the french community, the one that is the most affected by what Activision is doing. So no, it is not useless.

It doesn't, I mean these are the type of people that "save kids" and "cure disease" by liking and sharing a facebook post you can't expect them to actually take a stand for something that would like... require sacrifices to be made and inconvenience them a little.

'It's sad you guys are losing your jobs and stuff but that streaming money yo! I'll just pretend to care for my audience and social media a bit and then move on!'

Ah yes, because that has ever accomplished anything.

Was most of EU support not done in Cork since a while now? I'm not sure they had much left in France. Are they actually clossing support or "fusing" locations?

Edit: regardless it is not a nice thing for affected peoples. ?
