Items With the Same Item Level Have Different Stats on Live Realms

Recommended Posts

52746-official-shadowlands-pre-expansion

Ever since the Shadowlands pre-patch went live, gear has been scaled down along with item levels, but in some cases, items with the same item level have different stats.

This mostly occurs during leveling, where a lot of gear at the same item level can have different stats, which breaks the leveling experience flow, according to Mandus.

49=50. Quick maffs.

Edit :

Took a quick look a his twitter and the screenshots he shows. What we can see is :

- At same iLevel, there's no variation in armor/primary stat/stamina.

- At same iLevel, haste and crit seems to have the same "repartitions". If you take 2 pieces of the same iLevel with different values of crit/haste, by additionnign them, you always get the same values.

For example : Piece 1 = 13c+15h = 28 sec. stats --- Piece 2 = 12h+16c = 28 sec stats.

- Haven't seen a piece with mastery, but when it comes to versatility, seems like it get some kind of "bigger" value, as 12 versa = 28 from crit+haste.

What do you mean "same item level"? That shows a IL 49 helmet and a IL 50 helmet, a +1 in the item level... am I missing something here?

I agree that the image shown is a bad example but go do quests in Elwynn Forest or any other starting zone at lvl 49 in Chromie Time and admire your whites of an appropriate item level at that particular level without any secondary stats and no minimum level requirements as quest rewards.

As a bonus, you can even equip your twinks with them since whites don't get soulbound even if you equip them.

Linked the images in the wrong thread, it's fixed now, sorry.

actually, this isn't new. those differences have been in the game since level and reward scaling was introduced back in 7.3.5. the issue seems to be that they just slapped the scaler on them without rebudgetting the values, so items that for example used to have high primaries and only a single secondary are now completely underbudgetted, basically "x level item has y amount of primary" with no regards to overall value.

actually iirc its even older than that (id say the 1st stat squish back in WoD prepatch but not sure) and that issue is mostly with pre cata items since after that primary amount on items was standardized (can show up on rings from cata/mop/wod cause of the change to no primaries in legion)

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
