Class Trials Disabled on Live Servers Until Further Notice

Recommended Posts

A player wrote a ticket about what's going on with Class Trials and the Game Master confirmed Blizzard had disabled them until further notice.

Yesterday, we posted about Class Trials not working on retail. The issue left many players unable to log in on their class trial characters that were locked before their expiration after the Shadowlands pre-patch went live.

Reddit user Capcom posted the Game Master's response regarding Class Trials, claiming they have been disabled until further notice. What's more is Blizzard isn't able to assist with recovering gold or items from inaccessible class trial characters, but applying a boost to unlock locked class trial characters should unlock them as normal.

Blizzard mining that character boost gold.

Really does sound like a ransomware type of thing to me......oh my god there is a problem here, so you can't *TRY* a class at trial level, but you can spend money on a boost for any class you might not even like at endgame levels, but it gives us some profit.

But when it comes to helping out with gold and items....they just don't want to help you.

Its like my brother's character that he has had for years and years got broken when he did a faction change and transfer, the transfer messed up, but the original got deleted and came back broken, so any scaling makes it either too powerful or so weak it is the very definition of a glass cannon, but lacking any good dps.

They could have solved it easily, by spawning a character of the same level, putting items that he had on his character and then changed his broken characters numbers to match the fixed one....but nope....they didn't want to make the effort. They just said 'you can use a boost' but seriously, they could have gotten off their butts and did their jobs, instead of making excuses.

Ever since Blizzard joined with Activision, they have been going more and more into the realm of 'we will happily take your money, but we will however not work for it'.

Ok, this one's a pretty big bummer of a post, so apologies upfront. It seems not everyone is up-to-date with the goings on surrounding Shadowlands and its release, as quite a few players seem to have prepared for yesterday/today's launch, seemingly missing the delay announcement.
We found several players both on reddit and in the game itself completely unaware of the fact Shadowlands won't be coming for a while, some that even prepared time off work for this week! Let's start off on our own twitter, where @Dr_Fiv3 shared this encounter he had in-game:
That's a pretty big spoiler he avoided!
Then it's on to reddit, with a couple of threads already popping up,
As you'd expect, there were plenty of F-s and "That's rough buddy."-s in the thread. And then finally we have probably the saddest of the bunch, with the title giving you hope he's at least not sure, but then he lays out his worst case scenario in the thread title, wondering if he'd have to wait until reset to be able to play the expansion:

And so the expansion launch day has passed and hopefully everyone knows that Shadowlands isn't coming that soon, and we really feel sorry for those that only found out today!

Doubleagent isn't alone in his factionless herb and mining stupor anymore! Sir_Frank_B has taken his Pandaren Frankly to the end of his journey (for now), as he dinged 50 today! Also, do you want to hear something really spooky? Frankly dinged max level on the EXACT same day as Doubleagent did, just 2 years later.

The effort has been ongoing for a long time, taking 25 days /played in total, and while he didn't quite manage to reach max level before the pre-patch, he has a pretty good reason why!

Apparently Magni really doesn't care whether you have a faction or ever left your starter zone, he WILL find you and woonz you.
      Source.
In case you aren't familiar with what exactly is happening here or how he managed to get to max level without ever choosing a faction:
The pre-patch made things easier, as it increased the XP gains from the herb and mining nodes:
Unfortunately there's still 1 more honor to be had in this factionless existence, as Frankly didn't manage to remain specless:
So for anyone crazy enough out there, you can still get the only faction and spec-less character ever!

So congrats to Sir_Frank_B on getting it done! Frankly will continue on at some point after Shadowlands arrives, so Doubleagent might have some competition for that first squished level 60, but he will forever be the first and only factionless level 120!

Here comes more WoW but not in WoW, as David Chan took it upon himself to get Scarlet Monastery a bit of a touch-up and ended up with some pretty great Unreal engine goodness! It's mostly just the "main" SM shot, the Cathedral hallway and altar at the end of the instance, where we face off against Mograine and Whitemane, with a few sections outside as well. The whole thing took about 5 weeks to complete!

We talked with David a little about the project, but first let's take a look at some of these truly impressive shots (unfortunately there's no video available, as the computer it was being rendered on had some issues with its graphics card).

And there are also some outside shots as well:

If you want to check out even more shots of SM, check out David Chan's Artstation, and you can also check out his blog, where he goes through the entire process of creating this impressive piece!

Another weekday, another batch of hotfixes! We have the big dungeon XP change, Shaman tweaks, and the return of Anduin to the throne after the short usurpation by Turalyon!
      October 26 (source)
      Classes
Shaman Enhancement Primal Primer (Azerite Trait) now correctly activates when Flametongue Weapon is applied to your weapon. Dungeons and Raids
Experience granted to players in dungeons is now standardized, and does not change with the size of the player's party. Developers' notes: This standardized experience value is equal to what the leveling player would have previously earned in a 5-person party. Dungeon experience was tuned around the expectation of full parties, and we saw that taplist loopholes in combination with pre-patch changes to dungeon scaling revealed some extreme leveling tactics by fewer than 5 players. We want dungeons to remain lucrative, and to be a valid alternative to questing and other experience sources, rather than to overshadow them. Quests
Anduin Wrynn should now be present in the throne room to turn in quests for players who are still on the Darkshore introduction storyline.

With a hotfix that is now live, we’ve made the following adjustment:
Experience granted to players in dungeons is now standardized, and does not change with the size of the player’s party. This standardized experience value is equal to what the leveling player would have previously earned in a 5-person party.
Going in the pre-patch, dungeon experience was tuned around the expectation of full parties. However, we saw that taplist loopholes in combination with pre-patch changes to dungeon scaling revealed some extreme leveling tactics by fewer than 5 players. We want dungeons to remain lucrative, and to be a valid alternative to questing and other experience sources, rather than to overshadow them.
