Demon Hunter Changes on the Shadowlands Beta: October 28th

Blizzard has changed Unbound Chaos Unbound Chaos on the Shadowlands Beta this week to directly improve the damage of Fel Rush Fel Rush.

Blizzard Logo(Source)

Hello!

In the latest build of the Shadowlands Beta, we’re reworking Unbound Chaos Unbound Chaos.

The previous entry in this talent location, Fel Mastery, was a straightforward damage increase to Fel Rush Fel Rush. But you needed to use all of your charges of Fel Rush Fel Rush within your damage rotation to take full advantage of the talent. Since that playstyle already exists with Momentum Momentum, we want to provide a talent here that injected Fel Rush Fel Rush into your damage rotation less frequently. The inner demon crashing into your enemies shortly after your Fel Rush Fel Rush completed was an attempt to present that damage in a more visually impactful way, but ultimately it does not feel very responsive.

As a result, we’re changing the design to enhance the damage of Fel Rush Fel Rush directly.

UBC is def top of the list for a lot of DHs. it just sucks to play around, the fix sucks too but a little less than what it currently is.

i mean it added flavor, but using utility for damage will never feel good. itd be like making a rogue use shadowstep, a monk use roll, a warrior use leap, personally ill never pick a build like that. especially when youre so limited with roots/snares and the fel rush can bring you out of range. i'd rather see them work on the rotation and adding more useful options rather than all of these passive talents.

Thats just opinion. Having so much mobility is the opportunity blizz made that allows them to give players the choice. Using blur for a mini sprint was great, losing it was bad. This is the same, DH have to choose if using mobility is worth the throughput. Just bc you wouldnt pick it doesnt mean it isnt better, the talent itself is so good right now it is almost the entire dmg break down.

Its pure clunky nature is what has players upset. They should make it so that the last hit of blade dance calls down the inner demon and then have that for aoe and the dot for single target.

I agree with this I would rather have Blade Dance do a unique visual adaptation than play around with the very clunky momentum/unbound chaos tree setup.  Saddens that Glaive Tempest doesn't compete with the other two talents of that row and Fel Barrage is looking to be obsolete being placed on the same talent row with Demonic.

Idd i mostly use it do get out of *filtered* moments or fire on anything but having in my rotation this is retarded i don't know why they are forcing a movement ability in to the dps rotation ... is  like forcing warrior to use leap in rotation is just stupid.

Today's hotfixes have Classic tweaks, retail Maw and Torghast changes, a repeated Valfir entry for yesterday for some reason, a massive nerf to gold rewards from BfA Emissaries and Paragon caches,  and a lot more.
      December 4 (source)
      Allied Races
Bloodthirsty Vulpera no longer get lost on the return home to their camps after leaving the Arena. Classes
Paladin General Punish the Guilty (Potency Conduit) damage has been reduced by 70%. Creatures and NPCs
Valfir the Unrelenting has bolstered his defense, making oncoming attacks much less effective. Players that wish to take down the beast will first need to send anima to this location to unlock the key to Valfir's demise. Valfir the Unrelenting will no longer wander quite so far from his spawn. Dungeons and Raids
Sanguine Depths General Kaal After rescuing Essence of Z'rali and before the final fight, General Kaal now removes her Evasive Mantle upon entering combat to alleviate an issue if she is pulled to her next position in the gauntlet early. Items and Rewards
[With regional restarts] Battle for Azeroth Emissary quests and Paragon caches will have their gold rewards reduced to 10% of their current value when Shadowlands Season 1 begins in each region. The Engineering device Disposable Spectrophasic Reanimator is now disposed upon use. Fixed an issue where Forgemaster’s Crate and the Tailoring items, Lace Draperies and Excuisitely Woven Rug, could not be opened. Scorched Crypt Keys will no longer drop if you already have one in your inventory. Professions
Fixed an issue where some professions were able to learn the recipe Novice Crafter’s Mark before Crafter’s Mark 1. Quests
Covenant Campaign “Prove Your Worth” can now be obtained after clearing quests from a full quest log. Covenant Campaign Players will now be able to complete the Ember Court unlock questline even while the World Quest "Tea Tales" is active. Affected players should seek out Tubbins in the Ember Ward to accept the quest "Formal Refreshments" to continue. Oribos, the Eternal City Highlord Bolvar Fordragon and Taelia Fordragon have leveled up on their listening skills and no longer talk over one another after the “A Glimpse into Darkness” quest cinematic has ended. Bastion Players who pass through Oribos, the Eternal City, and have an extra Broken Kyrian Flute in their bags that they cannot get rid of, should be taken care of thanks to an undisclosed Broker contact in the area. Ardenweald The location of Marasmius is now shown on the map for completing the daily quest “Glittering Gritty Goodness.” The Maw: Eye of the Jailer
Daily and weekly quests within the Maw can no longer be held beyond the day or week in which they were picked up by the player. Torghast, Tower of the Damned
Flame Vents and Soul Emanation traps now trigger less frequently and have slightly larger areas of effect. Rogue Anima Powers First Steps now correctly increases the damage of Subtlety’s Secret Technique (Talent). Warrior Anima Powers New Anima Power: Notched Axe Head (Rare) – Gain the Victorious effect every 20 seconds, allowing the use of Victory Rush (or Impending Victory, when talented). New Anima Power: Tarnished Medallion (Uncommon) – Berserker Rage restores 5% health instantly, and every 3 seconds. World Quests
Nasho is now less distracted when rushing into the Forgotten Forge to stop Specialist Entra during the world quest “Forged in Secret.” The teapot for “Tea Tales: Gubbins and Tubbins” is now easier to see. Fixed an issue during the Bastion World Quest "Centurions, Assemble!" where the Steward Mechanic ability would fail to heal the player's chosen centurion. Players should no longer be able to get into a state where they are unable to pick up dredgers in the "Dirty Job: Wood Work" and "Dirty Job: Demolition Detail" world quests. WoW Classic
Pets will now automatically attack hostile enemies and players when set to Aggressive stance. Addressed an issue where Damaged Necrotic Shards do not take damage from defeating Shadows of Doom. Entering Naxxramas now places you on the lower platform, while the teleport to Sapphiron's Lair is triggered on the upper platform, allowing you to zone in and explore the 4 wings. Developers’ note: The behavior of immediately teleporting players to Sapphiron's Lair upon re-entry to the raid following the defeat of the 4 wing-bosses, IS authentic, but we felt the inability to return and collect Frozen Runes that had been missed was punishing enough to warrant a change here. In keeping with the theme, however, there is still no escape from Frostwyrm Lair short of using your Hearthstone or teleporting. Naxxramas is, among other things, a prison, from which the damned find escape difficult.

Ah yes, the weirdness has come to Torghast and is only increasing. After this morning's naked boss kill we now have a Warlock pet soloing another boss! Hukkath the Voidwalker faced off alone against Observer Zalgar (well, mostly alone, he did get some healing from his Warlock minion), and while it took a while, he made it!
There's plenty of anima powers that make things like this possible, which is why Torghast has a lot of potential for interesting builds and interactions. Hopefully future bosses will be even harder, so they might even require strange setups and even talent choices in addition to anima powers to beat!

You can browse Legendary Powers in the game's Adventure Guide.
If you open up the in-game Adventure Guide (Shift+J), you will find a new "Powers" tab, where you can see all Legendary Powers for your class and specialization. You can filter the out based on class and specialization.

Mousing over one shows you the slots where the power can go.

Earlier in the Beta, it even showed you the legendary power source, but it doesn't now.

You can find more details on how to craft Legendary Armor in Shadowlands in our Runecarving guide and where to get the individual powers in our Legendary Powers guide!

The Valfir Night Fae rare, which is theoretically only supposed to be killable when a member of the Covenant channels enough anima into the zone (as they get an item that removes his shield), was being farmed pretty regularly until recently - since he actually drops a mount. Blizzard seemingly put a stop to this, as mentioned in today's hotfixes:
      Valfir (source)
      Creatures and NPCs
Valfir the Unrelenting has bolstered his defense, making oncoming attacks much less effective. Players that wish to take down the beast will first need to send anima to this location to unlock the key to Valfir's demise. Valfir the Unrelenting will no longer wander quite so far from his spawn. However, it seems "bolstering his defenses" did not equal making him actually immune, as players are still going at it, with no Night Fae shield removal! Previously the rare was only sesceptible to AoE attacks and, as I've noticed myself, it actually became completely vulnerable while it was doing it's jumping attack. Whether that's been fixed is unclear, but what is clear is that it's taking a LOT longer, but that's not stopping anyone, it seems:
"You can't hold us back blizzard"

So, the message seems to be don't ever underestimate what players will put up with when there's a mount involved! And, in case you were wondering if it's worth it, here's the Wild Glimmerfur Prowler mount itself:

While it's still a little early to move to the "listening to your own music/podcasts/audio books" phase of the WoW life cycle, a lot of players have been commenting on the perfect song for the Shadowlands flight paths, as they're a very specific experience this time around. The general reddit consensus/a very popular one seems to be one particular track, and we think it fits pretty well.
To top it all off, StalinDNW went ahead and made a WeakAura to actually play the song whenever you mount up!
In case you're not familiar with it, the song is Bag Raiders - Shooting Stars, and you can get the WeakAura here. Obviously, you can also substitute the song with anything you want.
