Korthia, the new zone that was literally dragged into the Maw joins the chain theme of the new patch, and adds two giant ones leading up towards Torghast. The kicker? Players can actually run up them!
Unfortunately there isn't quite anything at the top yet, aside from an invisible wall you get stuck on, as beemaister recounts part of his pretty long climbing adventure:
Beemaister eventually did reach the top after a long while, but didn't document it - but luckily Nukteros did!
The fact that the chains are scalable is really cool, and perhaps Blizzard will add a little something at the top as a reward for explorers later in the PTR cycle (hint, hint).
The Primus, Sylvanas, and Thrall received brand new models in Patch 9.1.
This is her Banshee Form that allows her to fly in the Sanctum of Domination encounter.
Finally, the Primus has returned. We datamined some spoilers that you can read here.
Thrall also received a new model in the first build of 9.1.
Something's not quite right in Oribos. The skybox has turned dark in Patch 9.1 for some reason. In this post, we compare both live and the 9.1 version of the skybox.
Oribos Skybox (Patch 9.0.5)
Here are screenshots of the skybox from live servers. The colors are predominantly bright with clear skies. The Maw is the only zone with dark colors.
Oribos Skybox (Patch 9.1)
The skybox substantially changed in Chains of Domination. Instead of bright colors, we see dark red colors and smoke everywhere. What do you think is happening with the flow of Anima in the Shadowlands zones?
The former Warchief is making an appearance in Patch 9.1.
It appears we haven't heard the last of Garrosh Hellscream just yet. While we saw Garrosh in Afterlives: Revendreth, he also appears during the Soulrender Dormazain encounter in the new 9.1 raid.
Soulrender Dormazain serves the Painsmith, tasked to extract potent Anima stores from hellaciously brutish captives of Torghast to serve as fuel for the Jailer's armies. Step inside the Vessel of Torment with Dormazain as he goes to work on Garrosh Hellscream, former Warchief of the True Iron Horde.
Blizzard also added a new spell to the game that references the former Warchief of the Horde.
Hellscream - While subjected to Warmonger's Shackles, Garrosh bellows a lethal roar which can only be interrupted if Warmonger Shackles are removed. The raid journal entries suggest Garrosh will be tormented by Dormazain.
You can find a list of all bosses here.
Hand of Hrestimorak is a new mount that will be available for completing the Glory of the Sanctum Raider meta-achievement in the new raid.
Patch 9.1 adds a new raid, which means there's also a brand-new mount that you can get from the Glory of the Sanctum Raider achievement. This time, it's a giant Torghast-themed hand called Hand of Hrestimorak.
