A Warning from Fellow Players: Don't Waste Anima on the Covenant Hearthstone

Recommended Posts

It seems players aren't quite happy with their Renown 11 option to buy a Covenant hearthstone.

There's a couple of issues here, as some players just (understandably) assumed it was an ACTUAL additional hearthstone, which you could use to get back to your Sanctum with its own cooldown, and were extremely disappointed to learn it wasn't. The actual thing you're buying for 750 anima is just a toy (Kyrian Hearthstone Kyrian Hearthstone) with a special animation for your existing HS, themed to your Covenant. It's all described very clearly in the tooltip, but a lot of players just buy it, assuming it would work like the Garrison one, which isn't that unreasonable to assume.

(You can check out the rest of the animations here).

There are many posts about his topic, as players are really unhappy with this addition, but the reason it's in place is so the final upgrade on the transportation network would be meaningful, as it opens a portal to Oribos in your Sanctum. With Renown being so heavily gated and offering so few rewards each week, it is pretty disappointing that we just get a visual upgrade instead of a major utility. Us engineers don't have any of these problems, however, so I can't relate personally.

Here are just some of the many many posts:

Seems like this item should just be a free reward when you do the final transportation network upgrade instead of a 750 anima toy we get well before said upgrade.

I did think this was a hearth to the sanctum when I saw it as a renown reward (the tooltip is not shown there), but realized before buying it that it was just a toy.

I really don't want to be rude... but of course it's a toy? Like the other hearthstone toys? Like I can agree it's a bit of a pain not having a portal too and from your sanctum until portal network rank 3, but it says toy. Fortunately its 750 anima, which in the grand scheme probably won't break many banks.

Seriously people? READ - it says it's a toy - just like all the other Hearthstone toys. NO sympathy.

So does the wormhole generator but you can use it for travel around shadowlands

I only read the first couple of sentences and went 'Wait, people didn't knew it was just a cosmetic toy?'. The price isn't that high, so it's a nice little slap on the wrist for not reading for those people.

"PeOpLe NoT ReAdInG ToOlTiPs GeT WhAT tHeI DeSeRvE" Come on guys... It is easy to confuse this with an actual item. The Elitism on this site is so annoying.

You read the tooltip? Good for you.

This has nothing to do with elitism.
There's several other hearthstone cosmetic "skins", so it's naive to automatically presume that this would be any different.

I'm just disappointed with how it looks, was hoping something like wings appear and you fly upwards or a Kyrian comes and grabs you away. You just turn light blue, very meh.

Same here. I was expecting something more from the Night Fae Heartstone. It is just the generic casting animation with blue particles. Back to the Valentine's Hearthstone for me.

it's just a toy for effect like other HS toys, what they expected lol ?? Also 750 anima isnt expensive, it's 1-2 hours doing anima WQ's. And I like my vamp HS.

Not elitism then, just fragile ego'd clowns, desperate to feel superior and taking any opportunity to criticise others even when it's a simple and easy to make mistake. A mistake that they, of course, would never make because they are WAY WAY smarter than your average person. Even though I guarantee they've all done *filtered* like this in WoW dozens of times because everybody has.

You are assuming that people have or are even aware of these other Hearthstones, and that makes them "naive".  No mate, just like everybody else, you are desperate to feel superior, get over yourself.

It's quite pathetic really.

First of all champ, you're doing exactly what you're accusing everyone else here for doing.
You're saying that everyone else, who does not agree with you, are bad people, who just want to feel superior, which in itself is you wanting to feel better than everyone else.

Secondly. There's nothing wrong with making a bad decision. My job in real life is as a teacher, and I strongly believe that making mistakes is a vital part of learning, and if you "baby-proof" everything and never allow individuals to make mistakes, then they won't learn the value of experience or proper research.

Thirdly, there's absolutely no need for swear words since everyone else here is trying to have a civilized discussion.

We've all seen the giant Hallowfall crystal and just how great it looks, but as it turns out, the light emanating from it actually changes in a sort of strange day/night cycle, and we get a really awesome transition into Void light animation!
First off we can see a snippet of the change in Blizzard's official short preview of the zone:
And then there's this extended look at the switch, showcasing just how impressive the animations are, by PreachGaming's Chunkeyninja:
And here's a slightly better look at the Void to Light transition, courtesy of Kexman:
The exact timing on the cycle isn't 100% clear, but MrGM noted how it works on the Alpha right now, with a 3 hour cycle, as the Void part remains active for 30 minutes:

Hopefully we'll also get some lore to go with the transition, as the light into void thing is pretty thematically interesting, as well as being really visually impressive.
