How many % of SIM-dps should i do?

Hello,

I've been a frequent reader of this forum and i love the discussions and answers that are given. Since i have only played WoW for a year i havn't felt experienced enough to be a part of the forum, but now i have a question of my own.

Now to my question/problem. My SIM-dps is about 362k but i'm usually doing around 300k, which is far less then my SIM-dps. How bad is that? And how much can my fellow raiders expect from me?

On HC Malkorok which is almost only single target, i do around 300k, on HC protectors, i do around 300k and now last we are doing HC spoils and i'm around 300k.

My own opinion is that with more then one target i should be over my SIM-dps.

Second question, is there a good macro to use in the start of a fight? I usually prepot, RoF to get the procs, dark soul, synapse (engineering tinker), doomguard, Immolate, conflagrate, 3x incinerate and get out 2 CB:s before my prepot runs out.

But just to cast my 2 cd:s, doomguard and immolate takes a few seconds even if they are instant. Am i doing something wrong? And some say the doomguard have the stats i have when i cast it during the whole time he is active, some say it changes if my cd:s run out. What is the correct way of using him?

I'm rhankful of any answer :)

Post your logs.  Can't help you if we don't see what you're REALLY doing despite you saying you do it all well.

% of Simcraft DPS is a pretty terrible way to analyze your DPS.  Simcraft models single target, zero interference DPS of which exists zero times in Siege of Orgrimmar.  It's also possible to beat the Simcraft DPS, so the scale is meaningless.  A good value of DPS to be at can be found at Raidbots where you can see your DPS compared to others as a percentile.

Rain of Fire shouldn't be in your opener unless there are multiple targets to hit.  It's too valuable of a GCD at the start when most procs are live.  Your prepot should last 22-24 seconds into combat and should be the last thing wearing off.  You want 2 CBs in the first 10 seconds which sounds difficult to do with the plethora of spells you're using including Doomguard.  The difference in using him at the start of battle, middle, or end of battle is less than half of a good Chaos Bolt.  His usage is rather flexible and you shouldn't fret using him at the start especially at the cost of a Chaos Bolt in the first 10 seconds.

What Zag said.

SimC is 5 kinds of useless for warlocks right now.

A note with RaidBots, you need to be uploading to worldoflogs.com for it to track and even then it will sometimes not track it right, but this is a uncommon bug so it shouldn't be to much of a worry.

When you post logs, please use warcraftlogs.com

My logs are to messed up for now and i know of many things that can be much better so logs won't be linked for the time being sorry =/ when i have cleaned it all upp a bit i will post them but that can take a few weeks. I have only been raiding on HC for 8 weeks and still trying to master the mechanics.

Mkay then, i will take RoF out of the opening, only used it to get the procs to get as much of my two first CB:s as possible. But still when i reach a total damage of 10m on a fight, all the other dps are ahead of me by so much as 7m so i think there is a lot in my opening that i miss.

Checked raidbots and wow, basically i suck :)

Thanks for the answer Master, much appreciated :)

Guild: Dawn of the Dead | http://www.dotd.org   Faction: Horde | Server: Zul'jin (PvE) | Timezone: EST   Current Progression: 4/8M Uldir   We've been raiding max size raids continuously since WoW has been released and are the only guild to have done so here on Zul'jin. We have strong leadership, no drama, and plans to keep raiding for years to come. Unlike many guilds, we're not recruiting for the short term, and we don't over-recruit.   Website: www.dotd.org
Raid Times: Our schedule is 8-11 EST Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.   Needs: We are a small guild, and we expect high attendance. As such, we recruit people to raid, and desire people who can step in and contribute immediately. We don’t recruit people to sit around, so all spots are for raiders who can expect to be in most every raid.   We are currently looking to add skilled and reliable:   Ranged DPS:
      High: Warlock
      Medium: Mage, S.Priest, Boomkin
      1 Healer:
      High: MW Monk
*ALL exceptional applicants will be considered regardless of the class.   What we ask of you:   Effort: Not all applicants come from highly progressed guilds, and that’s okay, but it does mean that you need to be prepared. We recruit the player, not the gear, but we do ask that you have some current experience and be a minimum iLvl of 370. You need to have the best gear available to you, (BoE, Crafted) with gems and top end enchants. You also need to be able to display an understanding of your class mechanics, role in a raid, and ability to learn new fights.   Attitude: It’s a game. We play for fun. How you fit in with the guild is taken very seriously. We’re a bunch of mostly 18-30 guys and girls who have fun playing together. While we have a good time, we also know when it’s time to buckle down and work hard.   Skill: The best way to determine skill is to see you in a raid. Because we don’t wish to have anyone transfer that we’re not serious about, be able to express your knowledge of your class and why you’re an exceptional player who would be an asset and is worth a shot. Gear will come with time. Skill will not. Impress us with your knowledge of your class and gameplay mechanics. Feel free to share any logs, theorycrafting, or other work you've done.   Commitment: We make a commitment to you, and ask you to do the same to us. A raid takes a team of more than 20 individuals working together. We rely on you to show up to raids, research your class and new fights, respect your fellow players, and notify us when you are unavailable. You rely on us for gear, experience, and coordination. It's a large investment of our time to train and gear new players, and we ask the same investment on your part so that we can each benefit.   We have a variety of informational resources available to prospective applicants on our web site: http://www.dotd.org-- please refer to our "Applications" forum for detailed information. Also feel free to visit us on WoWProgresss for more information and kill videos! http://www.wowprogress.com/guild/us/...wn+of+the+Dead   Should you wish to speak to someone in-game, please don't hesitate to reach out to an officer directly, whisper Xanah (Xana#1662) or Jeare (Jeare#1759).   We look forward to hearing from you soon!

      Tank Healer DPS ABOUT US
Currently looking for skilled and laid back raiders for Heroic and eventually Mythic Uldir.
We're semi-casual in terms of the time we spend raiding, but are serious about progression, attendance, and performance.
Booty Pirates is a close-knit late night guild that hangs out in Discord frequently. We enjoy joking around, playing alts, doing Mythic+, playing other games, or just hanging out.
Players wanting just Mythic+ and a casual experience (no raiding) are welcomed!
Fun guild events are scheduled every Saturday!
TLDR; we're very social with guild members that actually talk to each other.
(18+ required, we talk like pirates!)
      GOALS FOR BfA
In Battle for Azeroth we plan to push Mythic more than we did previously in Legion, and not spend nearly as much time on Heroic.
This means we will jump into Mythic/Heroic weekends as soon as the majority of the Heroic gear is done. (Mythic Friday and Heroic Sunday, for example, until we phase Heroic out completely.)
      JOINING THE BOOTY PIRATES CREW
      - Mythic+ or Casual: Add me on Battle.net or whisper me in-game for an invite.
      - Raiders: Add me on Battle.net and fill out our app.

Looking for a casually serious progression guild? Hordeland Security could be your new home! We started at launch, and have raided on Blackhand, Baelgun, and now Turalyon.

We currently raid on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00- 9:15 Central Time. We understand that no one has an unlimited amount of time to play. We raid with a goal oriented focus, to achieve AotC in current content and then progress into Mythic. We also have a few that pvp, a few more that push M+'s, and we've been known do a few mog/achievement runs.
      Interested? Drop us a line!

      Hi everyone,

We are a guild that transferred from Alexstrasza to join the progression raiding scene as that server is very low population now. We are currently 8/8N and 4/8H uldir, and looking to move into heroics soon and mythic just after.

We do more than just raid, we love to do keys, transmog runs, and even some PvP. We have a large range of players from several walks of life and have a unique and fun atmosphere, we are friendly and love helping people.

We are looking for a few more members for our Sunday/Monday 5-8pm PST, and our tue/third 5-8pm PST. If anyone is interested in raid leading that will work too.

We are primarily east coast based but have a plethora of players that are on at all times of day.

Main needs for our raid team:
      ranged dps
      Healers
      Exceptional players

Of course all players as welcome as we do other guild activities such as world PVP, keys, xmog and other social activities.

So come join this very active guild and we hope to hear from you.

If you would like more information please add my btag at Kaatra#5865.

I look forward to hearing from all of you.
