Wowhead's Chains of Domination Interview Summary

Recommended Posts

Wowhead talked about Patch 9.1 with Frank Kowalkowski and Jeremy Feasel, and here's a round-up of the most important highlights.

  • Patch 9.1 will hit PTR shortly after 9.0.5 goes live.
  • No plans for Tier Sets to return in 9.1.
  • The Chains of Domination sets are already in the game. Blizzard decided they will share models with the Legendary Armor appearances from Torghast that were previously not transmoggable as a whole set. They will create weapons for the sets.
  • They want to continue expanding on the Legendary system and have some cool ideas for what they want to do with it, but they have nothing to announce for now. The question was if there were any plans to allow us to wear more than 1 Legendary at once.
  • They are actively discussing faction imbalance but have nothing to announce at this time.
  • They want every race to have Heritage Armor but have nothing to announce for now.
  • Ve'nari will be updated with new content and a new currency, so no, Stygia won't be used in 9.1 to purchase stuff from her.
  • The Maw is going to feel less oppressive in 9.1.
  • They listen to player feedback when it comes to Covenant swapping restrictions, but they need to be very careful about what they do.
  • The new 9.1 Covenant chapters are a sort of "wrap-up" to the Covenant storylines.
  • They didn't comment on Arthas in Chains of Domination.
  • They want to continue evolving the Mission Table System in 9.1 and beyond.
  • The Broker Megadungeon will have hard modes, similar to Operation: Mechagon.
  • They've been actively discussing Season rewards beyond Mythic +15 but have nothing to announce at this time.
  • Existing Soulbinds will receive new rows in 9.1, and there will be no new Soulbinds.
  • No plans for a Soul Ash catch-up for now. Instead, they want to reward Soul Ash even if you fail a run based on a new "Torghast score" system.
  • Tower Shadehound is a new secret mount connected to Stygia Crafting in the Maw.
  • No plans to change the AoE cap.

Not implementing a Soul-Ash catchup or make the system accountwide are really *filtered* bad for everyone.
I understand the time-gate at the start of the addon so people cant instantly grind a 235 item, but everyone should be able to someone get every Legendary item by now, even with a new character.
Many would love to play alts but tons of systems are so timegated that you dont even want to pickup a new character anymore.

The current timegate is extremely unreasonable and there are no reasons for it.

There are people who still insist calling expansions "addons"? Despite not only WoW, but no other games as well ever calling those "addons"? And despite WoW explicitly using "addon" for something else? Is that some sect thing or something?

If you plan on buying the physical War Within Collector's Edition and live in Europe, you're going to have a bad time!
Blizzard has ceased distributing WoW Collector's Editions through retailers with the release of Dragonflight, making the Blizzard Store the only place to buy them. However, the shipping costs could be a dealbreaker for many collectors eager to acquire the latest edition for the upcoming expansion.
Reddit user katamai from Serbia posted a screenshot of their order, revealing that the shipping fees exceed the cost of the box itself—280 Euros for shipping compared to 200 Euros for the box, totaling 480 Euros.

Additionally, Emi, a follower on our Facebook page, reported a shipping cost of 99 Euros to Romania, nearly ten times what it costs to ship to the UK.

A practical workaround might be to order the Collector's Edition to a UK address and then use a shipping service to forward it to your address in Europe, potentially saving a considerable amount of money.
How much does it cost to ship the box to your country?

We've already talked about and taken a first look at the Delve-specific mount coming in the War Within, but now it's time to check out all of its customization options!
LeystTV has delved into the mount and shown off all the options, from the different colors to nose, wing, thruster, and top customizations, with glider, blimp, helicopter looks and more! There's even different versions of Horde and Alliance decals to choose from!

And these may not even be all the options present at launch, not to mention new ones Blizzard might add with later patches, making this one of the cooler mounts in the game.
