Burning Crusade Classic Will Be Based Off the Final Patch, No Class Tuning and "Some Changes"

The Burning Crusade Classic will follow the same route Vanilla Classic did but with a twist, with a lot of the game being based off of the expansion's final patch.

As talked about in many in panels and interviews, the approach to BC Classic is different than Vanilla Classic, with a new motto to replace "no changes". "Some changes" means that class balance will be based on patch 2.4.3 of BC, but the rest of the game's features might not. The developers talked about quality of life improvement changes from the final patch and beyond, but not everything will be taken from it - attunements will still be needed for current phase content for example, as well as both Paladin seals being availabe to both factions. The XP curve will also use the final patch changes instead of the BC start values.

Luckily, the raid bosses themselves will actually be in their pre-nerf states (although we're unsure to what degree, as some were potentially impossible), so the difficulty should be significantly greater than in Vanilla Classic, where everything was much easier than the original, with more powerful classes due to the final patch tuning and some extremely nerfed bosses.

So the approach and "some changes" mantra seems like a good one, as each improvement/change is individually vetted and then added to the game if it fits and is a quality of life improvement. Not all details are clear yet as Blizzard are still deciding on what goes in and what doesn't.

Next, wotlk classic, then MOP classic, WOD classic. basically, back to retail classic. XD

You forgot one in between Wotlk and MoP.

This is promising. We can't hope to achieve a perfect "No changes" environment when arguably the most important factor has changed and can't be reverted. Namely, the community itself.

But but... didn't they fanboys want it like it "was" :3 No changes involved since it was so great. Heck I loved TBC, but those hating on retail is funny.

Not sure what's to hate about retail. I thoroughly enjoy playing my shadow priest, even if I'm just a warlock supporter and still using a 60% mount because I'm just a casual who can't grind gold like everyone else.

Players have been noticing that Righteous Orbs were suddenly no longer dropping, and now Blizzard have confirmed that there was a hotfix, and that they were never intended to drop before Phase 4.
      Righteous Orbs (Source)
With a hotfix that went live to all realms earlier today, Righteous Orbs no longer drop during Phase 3 of Season of Discovery.
They’ll become available as intended in Phase 4.

Blizzard will be adding a one-time fix for Season of Discovery players who used Bloodstained Commendations to increase their PvP rank, but forgot about the 15 kill minimum by adding said 15 Honorable Kills at this week's reset.

We identified a significant number of players who appear to have been trying for Rank, and used a lot of Bloodstained Commendations before the deadline, but did not obtain the requisite HKs that week. We’ve developed a one-time-only fixup for you.
On Tuesday, April 16, during scheduled maintenance – before the weekly calculations are started for the week of April 9-16 – we’re going to attempt to change the record for those player-characters who fit the above description for the week of April 2-9. The fixup will essentially change your history to make it look as though you got the requisite 15 HKs during the previous week.

We have a class tuning pass coming to SoD Phase 3 with next week's reset. Druids and Warlocks get the most changes, and 6 classes in total are affected.

We have another combo hotfix platter with retail and Season of Discovery, with 10.2.6 getting two Druid fixes, while SoD Phase 3 gets a lot of class changes, Darkmoon card tuning, and a raid fix.
      April 11 (Source)
      Classes
Druid Balance Fixed a bug that could prevent a Druid with Radiant Moonlight who died and resurrected from getting more than one cast of Full Moon before it resets to New Moon. Primordial Arcanic Pulsar progress now resets on raid encounter start. Feral Damage dealt from  Berserk: Frenzy and  Burning Frenzy (Seasons 3 and 4 set armor 4-piece bonus) will now log correctly when buffed by an Augmentation Evoker. Season of Discovery
Darkmoon Card: Overgrowth proc chance increased to 10% (was 5%). Darkmoon Card: Decay now procs from ranged attacks and abilities. Anguish of the Dream’s bonus damage on next ability will no longer be consumed by professions. “Jungle Durian” now rewards 20 Jungle Durians (was 10). Rogue Cheap Shot’s stun effect can now correctly apply to targets under the effects of Goblin Rocket Helmet’s Reckless Charge. Combat Potency and Deadly Brew can no longer proc from Fiery Weapon procs. Shaman Rolling Thunder now correctly restores 2% of the Shaman’s total mana per Lightning Shield charge released. Shamans should now appropriately have access to Rank 4 of Fire Nova (was Fire Nova Totem) when the rune is engraved. Warlock Unstable Affliction is now affected by Haunt’s increase. Damage over time effects that crit through the Pandemic rune will now be able to activate Dance of the Wicked. Felguards summoned by Warlocks are now given an appropriate demon name. Warrior Gladiator Stance will now appear at the end of your stance bar instead of the beginning and will no longer rearrange the order of your stances for the purpose of stance macros. Sunken Temple Fixed an issue that would occasionally cause Dreamscythe and Weaver to evade when their target survived falling into the Pit of Sacrifice.

One of the most famous deaths in Classic Hardcore made it over into Season of Discovery Phase 3! The developers added a corpse in the new Sunken Temple raid, close to where Guzu's orc fell and thus made the legendary hole-in-one death even more so.
Originally spotted by Eric264, here's Guzu himself finding his gear-accurate body (although the Alexstrasza mousepad is nowhere to be found), a little bit off to the side of where he actually fell.

In case you weren't familiar with the death itself, it has not one, but two Jormungars  hilarious animations based on it, including one by the legendary Hurricane, which you can check out here. As for the death itself, here it is:

That's a really elaborate way to get an NPC based on you in the game, and I love it!
