Here's one for the books. The "make up your mind, game" books, that is.
Popozhao had a veritable roller coaster of emotions in the several seconds after finishing a +15, as the game really wasn't sure whether it was a successful run or not. First things first, to be fair it was a VERY close call and seemingly a failed run according to the timer, as it was 0.024 seconds late! That's an incredibly small margin (but not the smallest, as we've seen the ultimate king of close calls that's unlikely to ever be beaten) and apparently so small that the game was confused, as it played the following series of announcements:
So, first comes the failed timer from the addon, followed by some taunting and teasing from Denathrius due to the failure and then... congratulations, you got keystone master! We have a lot of conflicting info here, as the addon says it's 0.024 seconds late, and the Denathrius whisper seemingly confirms it, but Raider.IO has the run as being under time by 0.975 seconds, which is most likely the correct timing. Denathrius does seem like the type to gloat prematurely as well, so it all checks out! Here's what Popozhao and a few other redditors thought might have also been the issue:
In any case, it's a pretty weird interaction overall, but aside from being an incredibly close call at the end, it was a happy ending, so congrats on the achievement!
An extremely lucky player received Smoldering Egg of Millagazor twice in 13 hours.
Smoldering Egg of Millagazor drops from Heroic Ragnaros and the mount has a 1% drop chance. While a lot of players have been farming the Firelands for a long time and haven’t seen it drop yet, Reddit user FloridaTattooer88 was fortunate enough to receive the same mount twice 13 hours apart on live servers!
Reddit user StarFox_1257 wrote up a lengthy guide, going through Best-in-Slot gear, gems, and consumables for Timewalking events.
If you want to maximize your damage/healing in Timewalking dungeons and raids, here is an extensive guide written by StarFox_1257. Remember that the weekly quest offers a single piece of Item Level 200 gear, and you can get additional gear in the Black Temple raid. Burning Crusade Timewalking will be up until Tuesday.
This is one for the "weird bugs that are actually kind of awesome" collection, as a player got to keep his Shadowform after switching back to Discipline!
Quakes19 was minding their own business playing some arena as Disc, then queued as Shadow while still remaining in Disc (which would make the spec switch when a match started and switch back when it ended), and logged out after the matches. The next day, well, there was a pretty nice present waiting, as Shadowform had remained active while the spec reverted back to Discipline! That's a solid 10% extra spell damage until death/logout, which also helps out with Disc's healing, so it's a pretty good deal!
This is probably not the first time something like this has happened, but it's always fun to check out the actually fun weird occurrences in the game! Hopefully quakes19 had some fun with it and didn't die too fast!
The very appropriately named Completionism .co.uk site is, as you'd imagine, great for completionists! It has a very light and clean overview with an easy to use interface which lets you see just what you're missing across any characters you might want to add.
I added a couple characters in to try it out. I swear I did more than this!11
Separated into expansions and events, with the main categories within those being achievements, mounts, pets and professions, the site gives you a great overview of the things you've done/collected and the many things you've yet to do. Adding characters is pretty simple and fast, and the achievements and collections from all of them add up (and you can remove chars as well if you're just interested in individual ones later).
On the holiday event side of things, I did not do more than this.
A note from the author:
You can also filter out any categories you're not interested in, from specific professions, a whole faction or class and more. Going into the details for a particular collection also shows the mounts or pets missing and (generally) where to get them:
And the same thing for achievements:
All in all it's a very clean and easy to use overview of everything you've done, and once you add in all your characters, it'll be easier to set your sights on something new, so head on over there and try it out.
