kesrick 0 Report post Posted May 9, 2014 Hi guys, I am new to Icy veins and this is my first post. First, I want to congratulate you for the amazing work that you do. After finding Icy Veins, using the guides and following the advices on the forum, my dps increased a lot. I am been looking at the new talents tree for WoD in Wowhead and after checking the spells I realized that Pandemic is missing. Do you know if this was a mistake from Wowhead or Blizzards will eliminate it? What do you think will happen if there is not pandemic in WoD? I been looking through the forums and have not found anything about this topic, so sorry if it have been already discussed.
Soulzar 42 Report post Posted May 9, 2014 As I understand it (which could be outdated or wrong), Everybody gets "Pandemic". Which is kind of lame since it was our Level 90 talent..... Since there will no longer be anymore breakpoints you can "clip" whenever.... but you will still want to do its as close to the end of the Dot as possible to avoid redundant casts over the course of the fight. Liquidsteel 279 Report post Posted May 9, 2014 Afaik, warlocks will retain the full effect of pandemic. So we can refresh under 50 percent. Other classes get a slightly weaker version which allows refreshing under 30 percent.

Liquidsteel 279 Report post Posted May 9, 2014 I'd like to add that refreshing at the last possible second likely won't be wise Depending on trinkets, or rather the unpredictable nature of RPPM, we won't want to have to refresh DoTs during trinket procs. The removal of snapshotting will make this a DPS loss, as we'll want to be spending the full 10 seconds on drain soul / chaos bolt / soulfire etc.
SparkSovereign 61 Report post Posted May 9, 2014 The entire point of the change is that you can refresh without loss any time in the last 30% of the DoT (50% for warlocks). The full duration of the new DoT will just be appended to the old one. Basically a QoL thing given the changes to DoT haste. Avoiding refreshing DoTs while you have procs will help, but it seems like the skill of responding to procs is moving to a model more akin to Destruction than Affliction- when you get procs, burn your resources/cast your big stuff. It should, hopefully, mean that proc RNG is less of a ridiculous factor on overall DPS.
Zagam 1,982 Report post Posted May 10, 2014 Without snapshotting, you have a HUGE window to refresh DoTs free from penalty. Warlock's is bigger - anyone with a DoT uptime less than 99.5% is bad. You'll literally just need to create a WeakAura that gets bigger and bigger as the time remaining on a DoT goes down until it buzzes in your face... REFRESH UNSTABLE AFFLICTION DUMMY!

I have already that aura for Chaos bolt but with TMW and is quite useful
