Kael'thas received a new voice actor, and his Burning Crusade voiceovers have been completely re-recorded in Patch 9.1.

Portergauge spotted that Kaelthas' voiceovers in both Magister's Terrace and the Eye raid have been recast in Chains of Domination.

Do you like the new voice actor better?

Hm... the old one sounded more lively, selling the psychological issues KT must be harboring better.

What "actors issues"?  I've never heard anything about a problem with Kael'thas.

Sigh.  Another random change seemingly just for the sake of changing things.

It's probably the new actor working for less money.

Couldn't possibly have anything to do with Quinton Flynn disclosing his struggles with substance abuse, and Blizzard having an almost Disney-like mentality regarding things like that.

Edit - Also, it would appear that Blizzard is distancing themselves from him due to sexual harassment allegations regarding some fans.

People are going to make a big deal over this just to throw gas on the Blizzard-hate dumpster fire, but it's essentially inconsequential.

Well, considering drug problems tend to be made to be bad when it effects them negatively, but praised when it benefits them, so i tend to not pay attention to the BS.

Not stating that anything is true or false, nor any opinion on the matter, as I know too little about it - I believe this is likely tied to the allegations of sexual harassment towards fans, with some claiming to be minors at the time.

Again, no idea if there is any truth to it, nor where the actual case is in regards to evidence, proof, etc., but I imagine Blizzard have jumped ship just in case it does come out as true. I don't think anything has been proven in court as of now, but I may be wrong. I don't think the case has even been properly processed yet, the most I can find online is that he is refusing to comment (I think).

Uh... Sounds basically like Quinton Flyinn. Are we absolutely sure this is a new VA and not just Blizz/Flynn deciding to re-record those lines? And why would they bring in a new VA for those old lines and not any of his recent Shadowlands lines? Or his Heroes of the Storm lines?

In regards to his "issues", shall we say: First, his sexual abuse allegations have been going around as early as November of last year (6 months ago). Second, his admittance of drug abuse was conducted in an interview 2 months ago. So we're saying that Blizzard decided, after 2-6 months of sitting with their thumb in their crack, that they just want to suddenly change VAs?

Either way, I'm not bothered about this right now. I'm merely questioning why we're taking this speculation as fact when we haven't heard anything on either Blizzard's or Flynn's part. Or, at the very least, I cannot find any other information on this anywhere.

So those are just allegations and he wasn't convicted so far? Companies these days are very fast to act on things like these, just to cover their asses (yet they are often still fine to neglect many forms of abuse, unless it comes to light).

Well, at least they aren't going to replace his voice lines in HotS. Benefits of it being a semi-dead game, I guess.

My best is that :

1. he is actually guilty and a creep

2. is in the same situation as Johnny Depp and Vic Mignogna

Supposing it is true, and you were one of the fans, and you play WoW. On a scale from 1 to Jar Jar Binks how much would it suck to have to hear your predator's voice in a video game?

Of course, it would suck. It's normal that company doesn't want to be associated with such allegations, regardless if case in court is closed or ongoing. At least it looks like they might be true this time.

But another thing is, should we then erase every trace of this guy's work? It's a matter of separating character from voice actor, but it's always been a very divisive issue. Some people are fine with it, others aren't. There are characters who had their actors changed over the years, but their old lines haven't been replaced. In my opinion, rerecorded lines sound a bit worse, so they should have kept those from BC. Anyway, at least they are going to keep old Kael in W3 and HotS, since they don't care much about these games anymore. 😅

With something where the voice can continue to be relevant, I believe so. For example, if Naruto releases new dubs, then Iruka should be re-cast. If they don't release new dubs, but continue to license the English dubs out, then those should be re-recorded with a new actor. Some of this may depend on contract terms, but newer contracts definitely have morality clauses where if you do/did something that could bring a negative reputation to the company, they'll replace you. With WoW, it's unlikely that he continues to make any money beyond the initial recording work, but with Naruto he very well could be getting a percentage of the licensing of English dubs he's recorded for.

Edit - A similar example might be the US $20 bill - replacing Andrew Jackson with Harriet Tubman. Replacing him doesn't erase how much of a piece of *filtered* he was, and you can still learn about that in history books.

Yeah, afaik Blizzard doesn't employ any actors directly, only through agencies. That's why they keep reusing same voices and you are as likely to hear them in any other mainstream game, animation, dub etc., as in Blizzard games. Perhaps Quinton Flynn got fired from his acting agency and that's why we aren't going to hear him anymore. Btw, I've checked his Twitter and looks he has been silent since november.

Yeah apparently the most recent thing from him was during an interview that's available on YouTube where discloses his struggles with substance abuse.

We'd like to introduce you to a game-changing nameplate addon for Season 4 that's essential for excelling in Mythic+ dungeons.
Tracking every mob and their abilities in Mythic+ can be overwhelming, but this addon excels by replacing standard mob nameplates and cast bars to enhance your gameplay.
Once installed, mobs with critical interrupts will display a thick orange cast bar, while less crucial ones will show a thinner yellow bar.

Mobs with less crucial interrupts will have a thinner yellow cast bar.

Additionally, any mobs that inflict heavy frontal cone damage are marked with an arrow and feature orange cast bars. A voice alert will also prompt you to move by announcing "front."

The addon further assists by indicating non-interruptible spells that require crowd control with a purple cast bar and a vocal "cc" alert.

For tanks, if you're not holding aggro, the nameplates of the mobs will turn red, quickly showing you which ones to target.

There's also a handy visual cue on the cast bar, surrounded by a green border, signaling when you can interrupt an ability and your interrupt skill is off cooldown.

      Ready to try it out?
You can download Quazii Plater here.
For setup assistance, watch Quazii's comprehensive video guide.
Quazii has also created a Mythic+ cheatsheet that details all critical abilities for Season 4 dungeons, available in a text format.

Players are currently unable to catalyze gear from the Black Temple Timewalking cache into class set piece.
It's unclear whether this limitation is a bug or an intended feature, but the gear obtained from completing this week's Black Temple Timewalking quest cannot be converted into a set piece using the Revival Catalyst, as reported on Reddit.
I personally checked this at Antuka and can confirm that gear from the weekly quest cache cannot be catalyzed. I received the Grips of Damnation from the Essence boss yesterday, and found that the item was ineligible for conversion at the Catalyst.

Here's how you can upgrade your legendary weapons in Dragonflight Season 4 next week!
This one is for Fyr'alath and Nasz'uro owners. You must first farm 2 Antique Bronze Bullions. However, you can only acquire 1 Antique Bronze Bullion per week from Awakened Raid bosses. The bullion will drop in Raid Finder difficulty too.
Next week, the cap will be raised to 2 and a catch-up method will be implemented, so players who didn't have the chance to get their first bullion can get it from the weekly quest in Valdrakken.
Anyway, the soonest you can upgrade your legendary to the base item level of 502 is during the week of April 30th (so next week).
Once you have 2 Antique Bronze Bullions, head to the Parting Glass in Valdrakken.

Evokers need to buy Scale of Awakening from Iszinormi for 2 Antique Bronze Bullions. Death Knights, Paladins, and Warriors need to buy Scale of Awakening from Iszinormi for  2 Antique Bronze Bullions. Once purchased, use the consumable to upgrade your legendary to item level 502, the base item level for Season 4.
After that, you can further upgrade your legendary using Flightstones and crests. Check out our gear upgrading guide for more info!

Cache of Timewarped Treasures obtained from Black Temple Timewalking quest this week has a chance to contain Ashes of Al'ar!
Don't forget to complete this week's Timewalking raid! If you're having trouble getting into a group, create your own one, invite 2 tanks 4-5 healers and around 14 DPS and you are all set! Visit Shattrath, and talk to the Timewalking NPC to queue up for the raid.
The raid is extremely easy to compete and what's more, you get item level 493 loot along your way.
Upon defeating Illidan Stormrage and completing the quest, you will receive Cache of Timewarped Treasures that has an increased chance of containing Ashes of Al'ar or another piece of gear.
Demon Hunters shouldn't forget to get their warglaives transmog arsenal from Illidan and the reputation buff will help you add a couple of mounts to your collection!
