Castle Nathria 9.0.5 DPS Log Rankings and Analysis, Week 7: More Boss Only Damage, Where Shadow and Feral Rise

Recommended Posts

UEJe-Kn7-1.jpg

Here we are in week 6 of Castle Nathria in 9.0.5 and it's the most stable week-to-week situation we've seen so far in the first Shadowlands raid! All the focus is on the 9.1 PTR at the moment, so not many players are trying out new things and the meta has quite solidly formed after the last significant class changes from a few weeks ago, so we'll be taking another look at the boos only DPS numbers, where there's been some changes at the top!

Mythic Rankings

As mentioned above, this is one of the most stable weeks in recent memory, with the top 10 remaining exactly the same in the 95th percentile! Th first change we see is Unholy taking 11th from Retribution, and the biggest change among the top players this week is Demonology climbing 2 spots into 14th, as both non-top Warlock specs bump Frost Mage down. At the very bottom Arms and Enhancement jump a spot, as Survival and Beast Mastery drop down to compensate.

In the more general all percentiles bracket we see Assassination continuing to push upward, claiming 4 spot from Elemental, and there's a lot more movement around the middle as well. Demonology climbs even more ranks in this bracket, jumping a massive 5 spots into 10th, as Frost DKs surpass Fury and Windwalker moves past Arcane and Outlaw.

Boss Damage Only

We've talked about boss damage only (aka not counting any adds) and it's importance in a previous post, so if you're interested you can check that out here.

In the 95th percentile for boss damage we see Feral actually climbing even higher this week, despite already being a huge amount higher than in the overall/AoE-included rankings, as it jumps past Arcane (which somewhat cratered since last we checked, dropping 4 places) into 4th place! We actually see Demonology rise here as well as in the above rankings, skipping 3 spots and landing in 7th. Frost DKs also moved up 3 into 10th, as the rest remained mostly the same.

The all percentages "populist" bracket sees a huge jump from Shadow, as it takes first place from Affliction, which actually fell two spots, as Assassination stays in 2nd. This makes the all percentages bracket catch up with the top players, as Shadow has been in 1st there for quite a while.

Heroic Rankings, All Percentages

And here are the Heroic overall/AoE-included rankings, for comparison, with the biggest differences being Marksmanship still hanging in there near the top, Assassination being even higher than in Mythic and elemental actually being quite a bit lower in Heroic.

As more players are getting to that point with all 17 mission table companions' levels maxed out, we thought we'd take a look at just what happens at that point (as well as share some general table tips). The most interesting news here is that (unfortunately) even with all the companions at level 60, you'll still be getting the Xp missions!
HarryNohara shared this not-so-great info, as well as a few other details of a fully leveled table with all 17 companions at max.

      Source.
While there was a period when players were very much regretting completing some of the campaign missions, as their table would upgrade all the missions to the next level threshold (which their companions couldn't keep up with) it might be a good time to actually do that now, if your companions are high enough level, as HarryNohara explains:
It is at max rank, I completed the final campaign missions over 3 months ago. Increasing rank used to be a bad idea, but today I can only recommend increasing rank, since you still get the missions of the two prior ranks, and rewards do get a bit better at the highest rank, mostly more Anima.
      I get normal missions that are level 36, 48 and 60 (rank 3, 4 and 5), rares are 37, 49 and 61, and elite missions are 38, 50 and 62.
I can complete all missions with 1 companion and 4 troops, however, missions don’t get easier, they just level up with your troop level. So if your troops are level 54 and you unlocked the last rank of missions, your normal/rare/elite missions will be level 54/55/56.
We also recently found out that your troop level is actually calculated across ALL your Covenants if you switched, using a median calculation (you can read more about that here). Another useful piece of info, if you're not maxed out with the table campaign, is that you can see which part of the campaign you're on and also find out how close to the next upgrade you are, which we covered here, and if you need even more mission table tips, we have a compilation here.

We covered a few animated wallpapers for Steam's Wallpaper Engine some days ago and one of the authors of those, Reika9944, created two more - one for Orgrimmar and one for Stormwind. But, since there are plenty of others out there, I dug around a little and found some other, older highlights as well. You can find links to the Wallpaper Engine files themselves in most of the threads below, so let's get started. If the animations aren't playing, just click on the images twice.
First we have the two capitals that have been added a few days ago:
Then we're on to some older stuff, some of which you may have seen already, but that is pretty damn impressive nonetheless. We'll start with some more iconic stuff/characters:
As a Warrior main, I think it's illegal for me not to post this one, so:
Then we have this one, which is just waiting to whisper some prophecies:
And we couldn't go without one for possibly the most controversial moment in WoW history:
Then we have a collection of Vanilla Classic official art images animated:
And finally, possibly my two favorite ones (which I may have covered before), straight from the Bastion Afterlives animated short, Arthas and Uther in two very opposite situations:
And a final FINAL bonus one, because why not end with fireworks!

So, which of these is your favorite and do you have any others that might fit in well?
