Burning Crusade Classic Release Date? Brief Ad Popup On Battle Net Indicates June 1st

Did the release date for Burning Crusade Classic just get leaked? Well, it's certainly possible.

Nonbread had an article briefly appear on their Battle.net launcher with a seeming June 1st release date for the Classic expansion:

Source.

This comes mere days after the official Warcraft Instagram said that the expansion was coming "very soon" as well, and it's long been speculated that the pre-patch would come mid-May, which seems to fit this timeline. This also wasn't the only spotting of said article, as mfdaw also noticed it, on the HotS page of all places, and KawaiiLnrd did as well:

It's also slightly unclear whether the above refers to the actual full release date or the pre-patch, but it does say "return to Outland" which we will not be doing in the pre-patch at all, so it's much more likely to be referring to the actual release date.

Now this could still all be just some really creative trolling and a fake leak, but with the additional factors which we discussed in the Instagram article, it's actually somewhat likely that this is correct. It's also possible that June 1st was the original plan, but was changed at the last minute (similar to the Diablo 4 reveal at the 2018 that was scrapped), but again, with Blizzard not wanted to have Classic and the new 9.1 patch for Shadowlands overlap, it makes sense BCC would go first, so we're thinking that June 1st, or a very close date to that actually seems likely.

I find it to be extraordinarily unlikely that blizz is going to give us less than a month notice before launch. I know they're stupid but I find it hard to believe that they're *that* stupid

Part of the Ashenvale improvements are here in SoD, with a Gizzby fix on top!
      December 6 (Source)
Grizzby will no longer rob you of your extra quest items. Ashenvale PvP The lieutenant and general NPCs in the Season of Discovery Ashenvale PvP event now have much higher health. Generals are now immune to damage until all of their lieutenants have been defeated. While no lieutenants are dead, generals and their nearby allies gain 1000% increased damage. The Horde general’s chain lightning will now hit up to 40 targets.

Blizzard have shared another update on their eternal conflict with bots and unruly players. They have actioned another almost 200,000 accounts this past month!
      Bans (Source)
To provide more transparency on the actions we take against cheating and exploitation, here is an accounting of the number of actions that were taken over the last month, November 2023:
Total Exploitative WoW Account Actions in November 2023: 197455
All of these actions were for cheating or exploitation, which primarily result in permanent bans or 6-month suspensions. This number does not include other actions such as those taken on accounts with character name or in-game language violations. We continue to evolve our methods and act against these malicious accounts on a daily basis.

The very controversial topic of the group finder ever being added to Classic Era/Season of Discovery never really dies, as players just do not see eye to eye on it. Well, however you may feel about it, it does in fact exist in Classic, it's just not functional (yet?). MrGM dug it up and got it to show using a console command, but obviously it's not functional:

More SoD hotfixes arrive, with some class tweaks and a crafting recipe getting temporarily removed.

For the retail hotfixes you can head on over here.

Seal of Martyrdom will no longer grant mana to nearby allies who are not in the Paladin’s party or raid. Shamanistic Rage will no longer grant mana to nearby players who are not in the Shaman’s party or raid. It is no longer possible to have two copies of the Mangle debuff active on a target. Multiple Rogues can now have the Saber Slash bleed active on a target. If the Rogues have the Deadly Brew rune, they can each have a Deadly Poison periodic damage effect active on the target. Pattern: Phoenix Bindings temporarily removed from the merchant faction vendor while we work to resolve an issue with the recipe.

Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield has announced there will be some significant changes coming to the Ashenvale PvP event, as rushing the faction leader at the start of the event won't be a good idea, and there's plenty other modifications coming as well.
