On Thursday, May 6th and Friday, May 7th, we will be continuing our raid tests in the Sanctum of Domination.

The Jailer’s Vanguard – LFR Sanctum of Domination
16:00 PDT (19:00 EDT, 01:00 CEST)

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?

A: In Oribos, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade IV in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?

A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players’ effective level to 60 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?

A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we’re satisfied that we’ve received that information for a given boss, we’ll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.

We appreciate you taking the time to test our content and look forward to reading your feedback.

Darkmoon Faire has returned for a week! Make sure to use the +10% reputation/experience buff, and don't forget about Profession skill-up quests too!
      10% WHEE! Buff
The buff increases Experience and Reputation gains by 10% for 1 hour, and we recommend you to turn in weekly quests only after you have the buff for extra reputation. The buff's great for farming reputation beyond Exalted for Paragon reputation rewards.
The buff also increases reputation gains with the Death's Advance faction located in Korthia. Unfortunately, it won't work with The Archivist's Codex faction.
      Profession Quests
If you're still missing skill points to max out your Professions, do note that the Darkmoon Faire Profession quests can grant you 5 skill points, so head over to Darkmoon Island to get them.
      Inky Black Potions
Don't forget to stock up on Inky Black Potion to enjoy dark mode in Shadowlands and other regions! Here's a showcase of Bastion. Image courtesy of Reddit user nasKo_zomboid.

Head over to our Darkmoon Faire guide to learn more about the event!

The Venthyr Assault is currently active and it brings a fair amount of fun with it, as we have a way of one-shotting the Fallen Charger mob and some very cool action with a particular Venthyr NPC helping out by literally pulling things out of Torghast.
First things first, the Fallen Charger. This one is just a fun interaction and you don't actually want to use it (well not more than once anyway), as it's always best to get as many players as possible tagging the mob for higher chances of the mount dropping for everyone involved. But, if you want to have some fun and see a big (well, in this case tiny) golden armored horse getting destroyed by a giant mawrat...

The quest the above is referring to is "That's a good trick" and you can get it at Lady Moonberry.
The breakthrough star of the Venthyr assaults has to be Fangcrack though, as he's helping out by just gabbing things from the Torghast portal and throwing them out, in true dredger giant fasion!

      Source: OldGromm.
There's an achievement linked to him as well, with Hoarder of Torghast asking you to use the items he pulls out, whether it's breaking vases or using the actual usable Anima powers he grabs from inside. He can also drag out one of the broker merchants from the tower, and they will sell very useful Collapsing Riftstone items for only 100 Stygia, so you don't have to spend your Cataloged Research in regular riftstones! But that's not all, as the awesome giant also pulls enemies out, making any kill quests a lot easier.
So all-in-all, there's a lot of fun to be had with the Venthyr assault, and don't forget - there's a portal to the Maw/assault zone within the assaulting Covenant's sanctum when it's up!

We've seen the crazy Torghast speed runs with players just sprinting to the finish line in a mad dash to the sub-3 minute mark, but today we have... well a different kind of mad dash!
Gitoff has gone for speed AND performance in layer 12, not only going pretty fast in general (perhaps not as fast as the recent 2 minute 56 second run, but definitely faster than most of us can ever hope to go), but also getting the 5-star flawless score as well!   The immediate comment in the video description? "Wasted at least 30seconds on floor 1 :(" Granted, Gitoff did have a nice little 9-minute Momentum buff ready before entering the run, but that's preparation for you!

The final hotfixes of the week focus on Shards of Domination tuning.
      July 30 (Source)
      Items and Rewards
Shards of Domination [With weekly maintenance in each region] Blood Link – The damage and healing amount has been increased at all ranks by 20%. [With weekly maintenance in each region] Winds of Winter – The amount of damage and healing stored by the Winds has been increased at all ranks by ~45%. Developers’ note: The difference between the three Rune Words for the Shards of Domination system is bigger than we want it to be. We have identified and fixed a bug in Winds of Winter which was preventing some damaging and healing abilities from counting towards its total, and we have retuned Winds of Winter and Blood Link so that the relative power between Rune Word bonuses is more balanced. Jotungeirr, Destiny's Call will now reset its cooldown at the end of boss encounters. Fixed an issue where Ticking Sack of Terror could trigger more than intended in the presence of multiple trinkets.

As the WoW team mentioned in their statement, they have been removing references "that are not appropriate for our world". While we've noticed the /spit emote change on the BCC PTR, most/all of the other content removal seems to be centered on references to Alex Afrasiabi, who was talked about in the Activision Blizzard lawsuit. Today we'll take a look at some of the things already removed from the game and some that remain, as the removal seems to be an ongoing process.
First off we have many references already removed, with the Fras Siabi and Foror names being replaced by Ezra Grimm and Nostro. There's many more items, NPCs etc. related to the two names above and others, which you can check out over on Wowhead. The most notable NPC change, however, is the one that received immediate retribution from players when news of the lawsuit broke, as Field Marshall Afrasiabi is now Field Marshall Stonebridge. For a longer list of some of the items that have been removed, check out Wowhead's article here.

      Source: Wowhead.
However, it seems the work is still ongoing, as there are some references that have not been addressed yet, or some that didn't quite go through completely, like the below. You can see the while the NPC's name remains problematic, it is actually changed in the chat window when he speaks:

      Source: MrGraffio.
While many references to Fras Siabi have been removed from Stratholme, like the mini-boss, quest etc, at least one remains:

      Source: Thekingchem.
And then there's this very specific one, which might have even gone completely missed if yuvalal hadn't spotted it, as Foror is mentioned in a conversation between two NPCs in the Escape from Durnholde Keep/Old Hillsbrad Foothills Caverns of Time dungeon:

      Source: yuvalal.

Clearly the removal of references is still ongoing, and even the ones missed above may already be removed from the game when you read this, as Blizzard have a lot of them to go through.
