These aren't the best fights to look at log wise malk or something more sit there and do your rotation is better for looking at your rotation

On Iron jug (I found this to be the easiest to see what's up) your living bomb uptime was a bit low granted it probably will be considering the knock back I'm assuming your group stays in africa once they get knocked back not walk back up to the boss

So that's most likely the reason for lower uptime 3 things u got hit by borer drill a few times same with ricochet and Mortar blast all things u can avoid easily you could have used arcane power 3 times instead of 2 your alter time casts were also lower then it could have been

I also believe if you went up just a really slight amount of haste you would hit another break point i could be wrong

Good day to you fellow mage.

Your living Bomb uptime on Iron Juggernaut was very very low.
Let's take the shaman for example named Flubbs.
He has a 357second uptime of flameshock which has a duration of 30 seconds.
Assuming you got knocked back twice, and refreshed living bomb before the knockback he would have it ticking for an additional 2x (30-12) = 36 seconds.
The time difference between you too is however 357-283 = 74 seconds.

So During the whole encounter you lost 6 whole casts of living bomb (assuming his Flameshock uptime was perfect).

So the prime tip for this encounter would be to always refresh your bomb right before you get knocked to Bangladesh.
And you also didn't have your Bomb up for the first 20 seconds or so of the encounter. Always open up with AB + Living bomb.

Drtain's comment on your Arcane Power usage is incorrect. You did actually pop Arcane Power 3 times. But you did a couple of things wrong at that. For one, you used your Mirror Image while in your Arcane Power. That basically means you wasted a GCD mid a 20% Damage Increase. No need for that is a waste. I can see correct Alter Time usage, just you missed out one Alter Time during your final Arcane Power cast.

Your RoP uptime is very very good. i can see you have gotten the hang of it, however you could improve a bit. Also for IJ Heroic I would recommend taking glyph of evocation and standing in your RoP during the Bangladesh-Phase, just to make healer's life easier. If your healers are fine ignore the above tip.

Another thing you didn't really use is your mana gem. You should pop mana gem right before AT in order to be at full mana when you do your AT burst. HOWEVER. From what I am seeing (and it might be incorrect) you used Alter Time on your Expanded Mind, Tempus Repit, Khadris Toxic Totem, and AP BUT you didn't have any Arcane Missiles procs. Try to wait out using both Arcane Missiles when Alter Time is coming off cooldown(never stay capped though). It might be incorrect what I am saying, but from your logs that seems to be the case).

The last part is you didn't have mage Armor up. That's a huge factor of your dps.

I would recommend regiving a read to the Icy veins DPS guide and actually study the Mastering your Arcane mage section in the rotation tab. You are going to pick up a huge amount of info.

I hope this has helped
Cheers

Sometimes it just doesn't show up in the logs, but if he indeed forgot it, then yes. Definitely huge loss.

Oh wow thanks Drtain, Oltier and Berlinia. Maybe I did forgot my mage armor, sometimes it goes off without even changing spec, for no reason at all or maybe it didn't record it as Oltier said. I also thing the logs i linked were some of the bad examples of my performance.
My opening with a lust on start goes like so;
-5 Rune or power, -3 arcane power -3 berserking, -2 pre-pot, mirror immages, -1 Arcane Blast Channel 0 bloodlust from ele shaman, 0.3 LB, AB, AB, AB, alter time, missles, missles, AB AB, arcane barrage LB, missles, missles, AB, arcane barrage.

I do notice that I am not using my mana gem enough.

With living bomb is it best to reapply it just after expire or just before?

Good day to you PewPewBoy.

You should revise your opening rotation. Using Arcane power So early makes it so that you lose 3 seconds of 20% damage increase.
it should look like this if at 50% Haste

-3.5 Seconds: RoP
-2.5 Seconds: MI
-2 Seconds: Prepot
- 1.5 Seconds cast Arcane Blast
+0 Seconds Living Bomb
+1 Seconds Arcane Blast
+2 Seconds AP and then procede with rotation.

Concerning mage armor getting removed. Whenever you swap a talent or a glyph it resets your mage Armor. Make a very annoying Weak Aura in the middle of your screen for when your Armor is missing. I have it so it shows a giant ostrich, but you can use a standard weakaura symbol. Just make it big and coloured.

cheers

Hmm, that does make sense and will add a bit more damage, but i like to pop mirror immages with berserking and bloodlust as they scale with the haste. Surely it would be better to post pone MI a little bit. perhaps
-3 Seconds: RoP
-2 Seconds: Prepot

-1.5 Seconds: Arcane Blast
0 (restro-shaman pops blood lust for raid)
0.37 Living Bomb

then Berseking

then Mirror Image

They scale dynamically if I am not mistaken. And the GCD that you spend on MI is best not used at the pull because:

Assume Meta Gem and KTT proc. You spend one GCD on MI. Now you have less time to cast other spells in order for PBoI to proc and you being able to start your really powerful burst of AP + AT.
From a MI only standpoint it would be more worth to use during trinkets.
But the potential loss is just too high.

It's like trying to teach a cat how to swim. If you manage to do it you have something very cool on your hands. But mostly you end up with a dead cat.

Good day people of the forums!
Heavy Metal Gaming (Kel'thuzad) is a 2 day, casual guild looking to recruit a few more to round out our roster, and looking ahead to Battle for Azeroth.

Although we are casual, the roster is made up of exceptional players, and we are looking for like-minded/skilled players that are vocal in discord, and engage with the rest of the guild.

The guild and group is made up of friends that have been gaming together for 10+ years. Many of us previously raiding in Top 50 guilds during TBC, WoTLK, and Cata.
For Legion we are AOTC for all raid content.
      We are looking for:

      DPS
      Ranged:
      Hunter
      Warlock
      Mage
      Shadow Priest
      Ele Shaman

      Melee:
      Ret Paladin
      Enhancement Shaman

      Raid Times
      Tuesday & Wednesday 7-10PM MST
If you are interested in a laid back guild, but still want to crush raids please respond to this thread, or feel free to add me:
      in game: Deadly#1230
      Or on discord: Deadly#2239

      Hay,

I seem to struggle to get better DPS. I figured out that i used chaos strike and blade dance to less. and i should use less Throw glaive and fellrush.
But i stil seem to have trouble getting my dps on.  Please take a look on the logs at the 14th.
I really dislike using the "eye beam build" (it feel slow to me) so i still use the 2221311 build.

First off, I absolutely adore this class and especially the brewmaster theme, but I'm just not making good use of it. I'm also not very good or knowledgable at it, so please excuse my stupidity in this ramble :P
With other tanks, I always feel like I'm in control. I have abilities that easily gather all enemies to me, but it's so different with the monk. If we're not counting the artifact weapon's special ability (since you spend at least 98 levels without it), I basically have a single proper AoE attack, being the Keg Smash. Compared to other tanks' abilites like Thunder Clap, Blood Boil, etc., I feel like Keg Smash is absolutely terrible. It has a much smaller radius, so I always have to run around and try to herd groups into tight bunches before I can effect all of them. If I'm completely surrounded by enemies within melee range, I feel like I'm lucky if I hit even a third of them with the splash, and so often I have to run around and tag drifters with melee attacks. I'm really jealous of the other classes' spells that are centered on the caster or placeable.
Am I doing something wrong, or is this a common problem? I know I have the Provoke ability as well, but being a single target spell with an 8 second cooldown, it doesn't really help my problem much. I really want to make my monk work, but I feel completely at a loss in dungeons and raids sometimes, and I always fall back to my prot paladin just because I feel like I'm doing an awful job with my monk.
Pleeease show me how I'm being an idiot and how the brewmaster is actually a competent tank!

      <Fepix – Magtheridon> - Alliance
Sick of pugging, looking for heroic progression, wanting to get into the guild raiding scene or just want an active discord to have a laugh in? Fepix could be the guild for you!
Fepix is heroic raiding guild founded and run by a group of friends. Every Tier our main aim is to get curve while we also hope to give guildies an introduction into guild raiding, or to just help them gear up in our weekly normal farm run.
Normal raiding: (20:00-23:00 realm time Friday)
Our normal runs have no requirements other than fairly relevant gear (910ish for normal antorus), the willingness to listen to and learn from the raid leader and the other experienced raiders there and a good sense of humor! Those that attend the normal runs have the ability to progress to the heroic team if they show the qualities we look for in a heroic raider.

Heroic Raiding: (20:00-23:00 realm time Sunday and Monday)
For our Heroic Progression team, we look for:
Reliability - the ability to have high attendance to raids, to arrive promptly at raid time, and should something come up that would stop you attending, to let an officer know ahead of raid time.
Adaptability – the ability to learn from mechanical mistakes and to show a bit of initiative in encounters to make those small plays that go above the norm that could potentially aid in the raid's success.
A laid-back personality – the ability to remain calm when you make or others make mistakes.
An off spec – Although this isn't necessary, it will make you slightly more valuable to the raid if you can play an interchangeable role based on the attendance of that raid or the demands of the encounter.

We are always open to applications from heroic raiders, people wanting to get into the raiding scene for the first time or people just sick of pugging and wanting a community of people to do content with.
We are hoping to bolster our raid team in preparation for BFA where we will continue with the same aims and system.

If you are interested in applying please message one of our recruiting officers on either discord or battle.net:
      Summerset (Raid Leader): Battle.net: Meep#2725 / Discord: Renkin#7628

      Hey guys!
Kings of Winter are looking to start raiding again after a break at a casual and steady pace! We are a small, close-knit guild at the moment and we are looking for reliable and dedicated players willing to do current raid content on heroic difficulty in a friendly and a relaxed atmosphere. It will take us some time to form because we have just started recruiting but we'd be happy to have you if you are patient enough.
That being said, we are also gladly accepting people who would just like to socialize and hang out, and also the players interested in PvP and regular guild keystone runs (as PvE is our main goal).
The players we are looking for:
-Players who are patient enough for the guild to develop and form
      -Friendly and mature
-Dedicated, eager to improve and reliable raid attendance
      Rules and expectations:
      -Don't be a douche
-Be 10-15 minutes online earlier, with consumables (at one point they will be provided by the guild)
      -Know tactics
-Subdue absence in raids to a minimum
-Let the guild know when you cannot attend the raid
-If you aren't very skilled it is alright as long as you are eager to improve, the guild will be glad to help you out if you can help yourself :)
-Join voice communications is a must in raids
      Guild goal:
We aim at doing current raid content at the Heroic difficulty, but start preparing in Normal while we gear up and get familiar with the raid and it's tactics. We also seek to have players do an occasional keystone run for some gear outside the raid; all that in a friendly environment :)
So far we have raided 2 nights a week with a 3rd casual/ fun run. Raiding schedule is yet to be decided with the guild, as we are starting anew.
      Last but not least:
Forming a raid team and developing the guild in general will be a slow and steady process, and for that reason we are looking for dedicated, patient players as ourselves while we form up.
I really hope I will hear from you guys soon and that you will join our small and friendly community whether you wish to raid or just socialize, as the game will be more fun for everyone when there's company!
My btag is Flogency#2183 should you decide to contact me :)
