Recommended Posts

Another huge batch of hotfixes has arrived! We have some PvP class fixes, Covenant NPCS returning to Oribos, a lot of item and rare improvements and plenty of Season 2 aka Mythic+, Sanctum of Domination and Tazavesh adjustments (including the Garrosh cutscene now playing as it should have). Also Packaged Soul Ash is now Battle.net account wide!

Achievements

  • Fixed an issue where defeating the bosses on Floor 5 were not providing credit for Touring Torghast Touring Torghast.
    • Developers note: Unfortunately, this fix is not retroactive and you may have to run the Layer again to receive credit if it is the highest Layer you can complete. However, finishing any higher Layers will also complete the achievement criteria for the Layers below them, so there’s no need to enter the lower Layers again if you choose not to do so.

Classes

Covenants

Creatures and NPCs

  • Rift rares will more reliably return to the Rift if they defeat all adventurers.
  • The NPCs that help you change covenants have returned in Oribos.
  • Escaped Wilderling is much braver now and will no longer abandon you when you fly over the Maw.
  • Popo will no longer act as a guard in War Mode and will remain focused on his task of delivering potions to his friends.
  • Relic Gatherers and Relic Gorgers will now allow more people to get credit for attacking them. But beware, in War Mode the other faction might just steal your faction’s control of the mob.
  • Fixed an issue where Fleshwing would sometimes become stuck in the sky.
  • The Assault Supply Carriage should more reliably reset after the event completes.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Mythic+ Affixes
    • Tormented
      • The Champion’s Mastery effect from Champion’s Brand now grants the correct amount of Mastery.
  • Sanctum of Domination
    • Soulrender Dormazain
      • [NA realms only] A cinematic now correctly plays after his defeat.
    • Fatescribe Roh-Kalo
      • The arrow indicators that appear while moving rings during Runic Affinity now respond to the number of players inside the active rune, rather than the ring's current rotational momentum.
    • Kel'Thuzad
      • Fixed Shadow Fissure’s visual effect so it is no longer invisible if you enter the Phylactery Phase late.
    • Sylvanas Windrunner
      • Fixed an issue where she could begin her third stage with an incorrect amount of health.
  • Tazavesh, the Veiled Market
    • [NA realms only] The extra action button associated with the instruments in Myza's Oasis should no longer despawn when picking up the instrument.

Items and Rewards

  • The Relic Fragments from the portal spawns leading up to the spawn of the Anima-Starved Devourer or the Mawsworn Exterminator have been reduced. The drops from these big bosses have been increased slightly to compensate.
    • Developers’ note: We do not want people to feel that they should skip helping defeat one of these big rares if they missed the portal opening.
  • Packaged Soul Ash Packaged Soul Ash is now bound to your Battle.net account rather than you World of Warcraft account.
  • Soul Cinders can now be acquired starting at Torghast Layer 8 (was Layer 9). The total amount of Soul Cinders earned at Layer 12 will remain the same.
  • The First Technique First Technique effect provided by the Codex of the First Technique Codex of the First Technique trinket is now appropriately effective against very large strikes.
  • The Vault Anima Tracker Vault Anima Tracker will no longer be on the Death's Advance Quartermaster after you have purchased and learned it.
  • Lost Razorwing Eggs should now properly count as returned when used in a raid group.
  • Fixed an issue that caused some players to not receive the Nilganihmaht's Signet Ring when defeating Exos, Herald of Domination.

Pet Battles

  • Fixed an issue where the Eye of Affliction wild pet would use its Agony ability again before allowing the larger impact damage to happen.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue that would prevent the quest to kill Mor'geth to appear.
  • Locating and interacting with Huln Highmountain during “Hunting Amid Houses” will now grant quest credit.
  • Fixed an issue where Heirmir would be unavailable during the quest "Hooking Over."

User Interface

  • Tazavesh, the Veiled Market is now a valid option for scheduled Calendar events.

That bug in the oasis in Tavaresh that got fixed for NA only I had yesterday on EU whilst on the drums. We were doing it on HM. The boxes on the postmaster bugged aswell.

Was a good challenge. I approve of that dungeon. Was fun.

The feedback on Tazavesh is pretty uniformly great (aside from the postmaster bug). I love how players are working around the bug tho.

Players on the Beta have been noticing some slowdowns and stutters before the recent maintenance, and since it is a Beta didn't think too much of it. However, it seems at least some of those issues may have been caused by a gigantic cluster of protodrakes!
Plenty of players noticed this skinner's dream in the Waking Shores and Thaldraszus, starting with some screenshots and then culminating in a nightmare-inducing video, as the drakes fly off in search of their next victim.
If you wanted to check if the flock was still there, here's the location, but they also seem to be appearing in the Veiled Ossuary in Thaldraszus. There were also plenty of hilarious comments on the posts, so here's some of them:
I always knew the villain of the expansion was going to be the Infinite Dragonflight. - Bioslack
      ...
Somebody messed up a "for" loop. - Zammin
      ...
Even with Survival Instincts, Barkskin, and Rage of the Sleeper up all at once, I popped like a fucking grape within 3 seconds, lol. They all seem to cast something that deals ~22k damage baseline. I was able to use Anhylde's aegis to survive for 8 seconds and managed to get most of the group to like 70% health, but... again, popped like a grape once the aegis was gone. - Etamalgren
      ...
One starfall and a raid full of skinners is what that pile needs. - Kambhela
      ...
That is what they call in Dragonic Biology, a "Dragon Ball". - ReysonBran
      ...
New Dragonflight bug feature: in-game GPU stress test. - dafino

The XP buff has arrived (to NA at least, with EU getting it with tomorrow's reset)! It's time to level any new characters you had planned or old ones that aren't maxed yet, as the 50% buff will only last until the Dragonflight pre-patch. And while we don't yet know when exactly that will arrive, it's not too far away, with the expansion's release coming in under 2 months!
      Winds of Wisdom (Source)
If you’re just returning after a hiatus from World of Warcraft, leveling another character (or two), or preparing to get ready for the Dragonflight expansion then this is the perfect time to jump into the game. Beginning the week of October 4 with each region’s local weekly reset, all World of Warcraft* players level 10-59 will gain the experience buff called “Winds of Wisdom,” which will increase experience gains by 50%!
Don’t delay. The winds will shift once more when the new dracthyr Evoker becomes playable during the Dragonflight pre-expansion patch, and the experience buff will no longer be available.
      * Experience boost not available in World of Warcraft Classic titles.

Even though Dracthyr Evokers start at Level 60, Blizzard added some new intro quests in Dalaran for players that decide to go back and do Legion content for some reason.
Dracthyr Evokers do not get an Artifact weapon or Class Order Hall. When you decide to skip the Legion intro you will end up in Dalaran. A new quest will automatically pop up for Evokers called Aiding Khadgar. You are tasked to meet Khadgar within the Violet Citadel. Khadgar will have another new quest for you -- An Adventurer's Aid, where he points you to a new scouting map. The map lets you pick a Legion zone for questing. Blizzard will most likely assign Evokers an existing DPS/Healer challenge. However, the Mage Tower appears to be disabled currently on the Beta. MrGM explored Evokers in Legion content further in his latest video.

Many rewards will be removed entirely or harder to obtain once the Dragonflight pre-patch and the expansion launch. Luckily, there's still enough time to get most of them and we've put up a guide to help you with that!

What's Going Away with Dragonflight Pre-Patch (Presumably on Oct 25)?
The Winds of Wisdom buff that increases XP gains by 50%. Restoration Deathwalker (Shadowlands Season 4 mount). Season 4 Dungeon Teleports.
What's Going Away When Dragonflight Launches?
The Back from Beyond Shadowlands meta-achievement. Jigglesworth Sr. Carcinized Zerethsteed. Various Season 4 PvP rewards, and more. For more details check out our detailed guide!
