Make the most of the Heart of the Valorous buff!

Looking for a great opportunity to quickly and easily reach the Valor cap on your alts? Blizzard have implemented a temporary pvecurrency-valor.jpgHeart of the Valorous buff which allows players to gain 100% more Valor from all sources. This buff is active from May 30th until June 10th, and all players will be able to take advantage of the increased earnings. Unfortunately, the weekly and total Valor cap has not been buffed, so players will still only be able to earn up to the weekly cap of 1000 points, and the total cap of 3000. This buff will allow for quicker capping of Valor, and it does work with the Valor of the Ancients buff! Players will gain both the additional 50% as well as an additional 100% of all base valor gains from quests, dungeons, raids and any other source of Valor. How will you cap your Valor? We've put together a list detailing different ways to gain Valor in order to best benefit from the buff!

Questing

The best way to earn Valor from questing is by completing the weekly quests on the Timeless Isle. You can still gain Valor from daily quests at other hubs, but the Timeless Isle definitely has the highest rewards by far! Please note that in order to receive these quests, you will have to complete the introductory quests to Timeless Isle. The chain starts with speaking with Chromie at the Seat of Knowledge in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

Empowering the Hourglass
To complete this quest, collect 50 inv_pet_scorchedstone.jpgEpoch Stone from creatures on the Timeless Isle. This is a weekly quest.

Rewards: 200pvecurrency-valor.jpg [/wowicon]
Rewards with Heart of the Valorous: 400pvecurrency-valor.jpg
Rewards with Valor of the Ancients and Heart of the Valorous: 500pvecurrency-valor.jpg

There is another quest that should be picked up and completed at the same time in order to best optimize your questing. Path of the Mistwalker is a daily quest that can be obtained from Emperor Shaohao after completing his introductory quests. The Elites that you will kill for Path of the Mistwalker will be the best source of inv_pet_scorchedstone.jpgEpoch Stone for the quest above. Emperor Shaohao will give you his quests after you have completed Time In Your Hands, which can be picked up during the early quests of main quest line detailed above.

Path of the Mistwalker
To complete this quest, defeat 20 Elite creatures on the Timeless Isle. This is a daily quest.

Rewards: 50pvecurrency-valor.jpg
Rewards with Heart of the Valorous: 100pvecurrency-valor.jpg
Rewards with Valor of the Ancients and Heart of the Valorous: 125pvecurrency-valor.jpg

Completing just these two quests will earn you a total of 500pvecurrency-valor.jpg with the Heart of the Valorous buff, and 625pvecurrency-valor.jpg if double-buffed with Valor of the Ancients! You can also use any Timeless Coins you may have looted or earned on pvecurrency-valor.jpgDeeds of Valor, which will give 250pvecurrency-valor.jpg with both buffs.

There are other weekly quests you can complete with relatively high Valor rewards, such as Champions of the Thunder King on Isle of Thunder, but it may be harder to complete this quest if you don't find a group and have enough inv_qiraj_jewelglyphed.jpgShan'ze Ritual Stone. Nevertheless, this quest will award a substantial 300pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and 375pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA!

Raiding

Valor gain from all sources has been increased, and raid bosses are certainly no exception! Normal and Heroic difficulty raid bosses in Mists of Pandaria will reward a boosted 80pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and 100pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA.

You can also gain Valor for completing wings in Raid Finder, which will award 180pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and 225pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA per completed wing. Subsequent clears will award 90pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and 112pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA.

Dungeons & Scenarios

Some players may prefer to simply grind out their Valor by completing Mists of Pandaria Heroic Dungeons and Scenarios. While perhaps not the most efficient means compared to the massive gains from the weekly quests, it's still a viable option! The daily Heroic rewards are substantially buffed, and with both buffs it would take a mere five Heroics (completed over 5 days) to cap for the week. Of course, this may not be the best option for someone trying to gear their ninth alt, but it's still an option to consider!
  • Completing your first daily Mists of Pandaria Heroic Dungeon rewards 160pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and 200pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and VotA.
  • Subsequent Mists Heroic Dungeons 80pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and 100pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV and VotA.
You will earn additional Valor for the following Heroics:
  • Scholomance (180pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 225pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA)
  • Siege of Niuzao (170pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 212pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA)
  • Shado-Pan Monastery (190pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 237pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA)
If Scenarios are your thing, each day you can take advantage of the daily Scenario bonus Valor for both Heroic and non-Heroic Scenario!

Heroic Scenarios
  • The first Heroic Scenario completed daily awards 240pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 300pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA. If you complete the bonus objective, as well, you'll earn a total of 300pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 375pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA for the first daily Heroic Scenario.
  • Subsequent Heroic Scenarios will award 140pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 175pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA.
Normal Scenarios
  • The first Normal Scenario completed daily awards 100pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 125pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV/VotA.
  • Subsequent Normal Scenarios will award 50pvecurrency-valor.jpg with HotV or 62[wowicon=pvecurrency-valor] with HotV/VotA.
Enjoy the buff!

I did about 5 scenarios on Tuesday with this buff and I was done. Pretty ridiculous how quick it was.

That's 5 scenarios for the first character. Should be 3 or 4 when you have Valor of the Ancients as well.

Also, if you're crazy like me and have 100k+ Timeless Coins, dumping them into Valor is currently the FASTEST way to Valor cap - period.

Without any buffs, 3000 Timeless Coins converts into 100 Valor Points.  With the current buff, it takes only 15,000 Timeless Coins to hit 1,000 Valor.  Very handy for your main to upgrade your gear before Tuesday's raid and to activate your account wide additional Valor buff for alt characters.

Of course, doing the TI dailies and weeklies also award 1000 coins apiece, so it totals out to 10k counting Visions.  That's three deeds in and of itself.  For those of us who do NOT have 100k coins just lying around...

Four color variations are available for the Rogue's Class Mount Shadowblade's Murderous Omen and you get it by assassinating the infiltrating homunculi via Hiding In Plain Sight (Stormwind) // Hiding In Plain Sight (Orgrimmar).
Greetings, Shadowblade. I hope you are not too upset that I began without you, I have a bit of trouble controlling myself around the mindless undead. Yes, you heard me right. Taerir, the very Taerir that has been standing in the Hall of Shadows for many months now, was the undead pawn of a dreadlord. And there are more of them - in our cities, rising through the ranks of the aristocracy, growing in power and influence, and nearly undetectable.
The /mountspecial is shared with the Blizzard store mount  Heart of the Aspects animation.
As usual, characters in our Class Mount preview videos wear Tier 20 Sets and the Rogue is no exception.

Game Director Ion "Watcher" Hazzikostas was answering player-submitted questions, dealing with a wide-variety of topics such as Legendary items, Artifact Power, 7.2 relics, Mythic raiding and more. Our round-up covers most of the discussed topics.
      Artifacts
Balance of Power appearances won't be account-wide. Effort requirements will be revisited. Hidden Artifact appearances have bad luck protection since 7.1.5. Artifact appearances aren't cannon, they're only cosmetics, so alt-friendliness isn't important. Artifact Power
The goal is to offer progressing of your character providing choices during the process. The developers don't want AP to be the only reward you're looking out for.  Repetitive farming of Mythic+ isn't fun, which is why a lot of AP rewards were removed from chests and redistributed elswhere. In addition to that the amount of AP gained from the weekly chest has been increased. Devs want to add diminishing returns to bring players to a point where there's no desire to farm AP any longer. They don't want the final 7.2 trait to feel mandatory. You won't be able to use items that grant AP that you got with Artifact Knowledge 25 or less to avoid grinding before 7.2. New catch-up tomes will be added (similar to those you can buy now). Datamining
Game files contain a lot of placeholders, abandoned data or developer ideas. Their removal would cost time that is spent elsewhere for designing new things. Mythic Raiding
The devs think there's a lot of grinding, but some issues should be addressed in 7.2 (chain running Maw was specifically mentioned). Legendary Items
It wouldn't make sense making legendaries change based on your spec, as they have a fantasy behind them. Further bad luck protection improvements down the road for 7.2. The system will evaluate how many legendary items you acquired for a specific spec. If you don't have any for spec X, you'll have a higher chance to get one, even though you have more for spec Y. Guilds benching players for bad legendaries based on sims aren't making a right choice. Crafted legendary items in 7.2 were introduced to keep professions relevant, not to address issues with Legendary items. They can be sold. Crafted legendaries aren't intended to be best and don't count against bad luck protection. Patch 7.1.5
Changes to secondary stats were a success, but Unstable Arcanocrystal is an exception. The item won't be used that much when item level increases with Tomb raid in 7.2. PvP Q/A
In a few weeks, there will be a PvP Q/A with Holinka including an esports 2017 announcement. Relics
Order Hall research in 7.2 has two additional tiers and the 7th tier adds a secondary trait to relics. These relics narrow down the difference between best and worse relics and offer exciting relic rewards from a variety of bosses. The secondary trait will always be a throughput trait and different from the first one. Tier 20 Set Bonuses
Still in development, nothing's final and they will change before release. Legion Tier Sets went to 6/6 to allow equipping of Legendary items and the team thinks it's cool to have a cloak matching your set. No plans to make 2-piece bonuses from different Tier Sets exclusive, but if they find out it's the only option they will take a closer look at the issue. Trinkets
Players prefer trinkets with stats not active abilities. Trinket tuning for 7.2 is still in the works. Below is the VoD to the Live Developer Q/A

*Affliction Lock - Orc, ilevel 885, 38 artifact traits*
      1600-1700 2's rating: with a Resto Shaman
      1800+ 3's rating: with a Resto Shaman/DH
Pets: Fel Hunter (Permanent) then: Inferno stun / Fel hunter

My question is how do you play with your lock in 2's vs 3's strategy?
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(1). Do you just outlast and wait for dampening? spread pressure, UA+Drain when you can, and try and outlast with:

      Talents: Writhe / Absolute / Howl / Siphon / Demon / Service / Phantom ?

Honor Talents: Relentless / Mind Quickness / Tongues or Weakness / Nether / Deaths Embrace / Amplify ?
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(2). OR do you try to set up burst windows? with some what spread pressure    (its hard to get dots on both healer/dps) but CC chain the healer and burst with UA + Drain on the DPS for a kill window? with:

      Talents: MG / Absolute / Howl / Siphone / Demon / Service / Phantom?

Honor Talents: Relentless / Mind Quickness / Tongues or Weakness / Nether / Deaths Embrace / Amplify ?
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For 3's I do the (1) for the spread pressure since its hard for the healer to maintain, but for 2's I keep trying (1) and (2), I just cant seem to find the right way to climb in 2's
      ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Any advice on talents/honor talents or play style for Affliction in 2's or 3's? or anything you try with your healers? I'm open for suggestions and talent changes

      thank you.

Plenty of Legion RNG comes from Diablo III. We've got "Bounties" in form of World Quests and in Patch 7.2 we get two additional Diablo elements - Reputation Paragon & Kadala!
      Legendary Targetting
Relinquished Items were added yesterday in the latest build of 7.2 (#23623). The items are unique per slot and have a chance to contain a Legendary item.
A funny thought quoting redditor WoWAltoholic here:
New Meta: Roll new character, avoid any activity that can drop a legendary and only farm and gamble on the biS legendary using this vendor, banking on the much higher drop chance for 1st and second legendary.
Congrats this is your new main.

The items can be bought from a vendor on the Broken Shore. The currency is Nethershard used during the Legion invasion event. You gain Nethershards when killing rares on the Broken Shore. Prices are just placeholders so players can't access them for now. It's literally Timeless Isle v 2.0.
      Lore (Source)
Yeah, the primary purpose here is similar to the gear vendors from the Timeless Isle or Hellfire Peninsula. Adding the ability for these items to create Legendaries is just an extra bit of functionality that makes sense for Legion.

Note that the actual costs of the tokens are intentionally much higher than their final values will end up being, as they’re not ready for testing. Making them prohibitively expensive was just an easy way for us to make sure they’re inaccessible for now. Reputation Paragon
For every 20,000 reputation gained past Exalted, you'll get an emisssary chest which has a chance to contain a mount.

The following caches can be obtained:
Dreamweaver Cache Farondis Chest Highmountain Supplies Nightfallen Cache Valarjar Strongbox Warden's Supply Kit Mounts they can contain were added in yesterday's build.
Cloudwing Hippogryph Highmountain Elderhorn Leywoven Flying Carpet Valarjar Stormwing Wild Dreamrunner Below are the new mount models taken from the Mount Journal.

Another preview is up and this time we'll be dealing with Hunter's Class Mount Huntmaster's Loyal Wolfhawk that is obtained through the Night of the Wilds quest. There are three different color variations for Hunters.
The Hunter's wearing Normal difficulty Tier 20 Set that drops in the Tomb of Sargeras. Tier 20 Sets throwback to Tier 6 Sets, they are even named identically.
