Dodgemyshred prospected more than 900 stacks of Adamantite Ore this week for fun and tracked the results of 513 stacks.

The data should be interesting for those wanting to profit from prospecting in Burning Crusade Classic.

It all started with 513 Stacks of Adamantite Ore in the Inventory.

After 3 hours, the player took a break to "reset their luck".

Prospecting all 513 stacks took 6 hours. Yikes!

Finally, here are the results. Prices of uncut gems depend on your server. The player plays on Sulfuras and got the following after prospecting 2051 Adamantite Ore:

• 2051 Adamantite Powder
• 83 Living Ruby ( 89 Gold each )
• 86 Star of Elune ( 6 Gold each )
• 68 Noble Topaz ( 29 Gold each )
• 70 Dawnstone ( 21 Gold each )
• 75 Nightseye ( 6 Gold each )
• 71 Talasite (3 Gold each )
• About 3220 Green Quality Gems ( ranging from 40 Silver - 3 Gold each, about even amount of each )

The average price paid per stack of Adamantite Ore was 26.5 Gold, so that's a total of 13,600 Gold spent. Gold earned from raw blue quality gems = 12,008 Gold.

Total profit earned (not including cheap dust / green gems was -1,592 Gold and 6 hours of the day spent prospecting.

Tbf that's kinda rubbish but mix it with cut gems, and you should see an actual return, at least for my server (Gehenas) you can add 10-15g per red gem for the main ones (SP/HP/Agi), 9g for Stam, 7-20g for greens etc. Just cutting the red/blue would put you to breaking even on blue gems alone. Add 50s for each green gem and 1600g profit for a day.

Not amazing but not the total waste of time it sounds like. Some of the lesser gems cut sell well too, runed BG is 4g each, lowest is 2g.

Bit more work and this could get a tidy profit...
