We have one of the best and most creative methods of determining who a raid mount should go to (which honestly could be applied to any cosmetic or similar drop), as twitch_gsigns shared their guild's very creative way of replacing all other potential methods: a battle royale, of course.

While a simple dice roll may be the easiest and most direct way, and a loot council or similar rewarding a specific player to incentivize them,  the following is definitely the best and most fun. And as a side-note, I personally love it since to me, this is basically what WoW was about - players creating really fun content for themselves in the game instead of just doing whatever was "most efficient to progress"):

So, around 40 level 1 humans battling it out for a flying chicken on fire. Sounds about right! And while one of the rules is no funny business, I'm pretty sure there will be plenty of fun and funny moments as this great guild activity not only determines the next Al'ar rider, but also brings the guild ("nice" on BC Classic Remulos) closer together as well. We also may be getting some footage of the "Battle of Al'ar" from twitch_gsigns as well!

If only more players had guilds like this...

I don't have like 99% of the rare things in this game but I still think doing this ruins them.

There's so much stuff in this game it's OK for some things to be rare and uncommon.

I realize this was supposed to be facetious but yes that is exactly how you ruin a game. Make things easier, more accessible/ not have to work for them. Think through the implications.
