Burning Crusade Classic Phase 2 "Not a Bug" List

Recommended Posts

Blizzard has posted a list of Phase 2 features that are frequently reported as bugs but are actually working as intended.

Blizzard Logo(Source)

Greetings!

In our efforts to re-create the earliest or so-called “pre-nerf” versions of encounters in Serpentshrine Cavern or The Eye for Burning Crusade Classic, many encounters may behave differently than how players whom had experience with these encounters may remember them from the later content patches after patch 2.1 of the original release of The Burning Crusade. To help alleviate some confusion, below you will find a sampling of issues reported to us from the PTR that we currently consider to be working as intended or “Not A Bug” in the iteration of these encounters that is going live today in Phase 2 of Burning Crusade Classic.

Please do note that this list is not a comprehensive list of differences between the original and “post-nerf” versions of these encounters. There are many other differences that are not listed here.

At a later date, many bosses and mechanics (including some of those listed below) will change to their final iterations.

The Eye

Al’ar

  • Al’ar will often do a normal melee hit on the target of its Charge attack.
  • Al’ar will choose to spawn between 0 and 3 adds at the times during the encounter when the boss is able to do so.
  • There are a total of six locations that Al’ar can fly to during a platform transition in Phase 1 of the encounter.

Serpentshrine Cavern

Morogrim Tidewalker

  • The Tidewalker Lurker adds summoned by Morogrim Tidewalker do indeed have the correct amount of health.
  • Water Globules summoned by Tidewalker during the final phase of the encounter will only Freeze the player that is targeted by and actively pursued by the Globule.

Fathom Lord Karathress

  • The Fathom Lurker is immune to banish.

The Lurker Below

  • Scalding Water is correctly able to pierce immunities.

Lady Vashj

  • Lady Vashj can and often will decide to wield her bow and begin using her Shoot ability on random players other than her current threat target.
  • The Tainted Core items dropped by Tainted Elementals will be able to be Free For All looted at all times, regardless of the loot method selected when the encounter is initiated.

Zone Creatures

  • Serpentshrine Lurkers are immune to banish
  • Coilfang Serpentguard will reflect all spells cast for the duration of their Spell Reflect spell.

All "pre-made" groups will again be allowed to queue for Battlegrounds with the next weekly Burning Crusade Classic reset in each region.
      (Source)
With the next weekly Burning Crusade Classic reset in each region, all “pre-made” groups will again be allowed to queue for Battlegrounds.
After this hotfix, grouped players will primarily face opponents who queued in groups of similar sizes and the matchmaker will now match raid groups of 6 or more players against at least one group of 6 or more players.
If the total number of players in your raid is smaller than the maximum size of the Battleground, the matchmaker will automatically fill your side with other groups or individuals. If there are no large pre-mades in the queue, party groups of 5 or fewer players will be placed against other parties of 5 or fewer players.
Please note: Queuing alone or in small parties will not guarantee an opposing team with no large pre-mades.

Blizzard have announced a change to the minimal global cooldown reduction after haste, coming with this weekly reset:
      GCD Change (Source)
With scheduled weekly maintenance (7:00 a.m. PDT, Tuesday, September 28 in this region), Spell Haste will now lower the global cooldown (GCD) to a minimum of 1.0 second. It has been possible for players to approach a minimum of 0.75 seconds since Burning Crusade Classic launched.
This hotfix is intended to bring the behavior of the GCD in line with version 2.4.0 of Burning Crusade, which the gameplay conditions of Burning Crusade Classic 2.5.2 are based on. Due to a bug in the original 2.4.0 code, players with high Spell Haste in original Burning Crusade were sometimes able to cast certain spells less than second apart, and they would also sometimes be delayed to over a second, based on how their actions were lining up with the server’s tick rate.
With this hotfix, we’ve decided that the fairest and most accurate thing we could do is to replicate the intent of the original game and enforce that Spell Haste cannot reduce the GCD below 1.0 second.
Thank you for all of your feedback on this issue.

We have some hotfixes for BCC, featuring the infamous Kael'thas phase 3 threat bug, item restoration for disenchanted items and more.
      September 23 (Source)
      Burning Crusade Classic
Items that are disenchanted should now be available on the Item Restoration support page to self-restore, as long as the materials gained are still present. Creatures and NPCs Some missing NPCs around the world are now visible again. Dungeons and Raids Fixed an issue where enemies, such as Kael’thas Sunstrider and Lady Vashj, could wipe threat from their primary target after mind controlling players. Quests Fixed an issue preventing Druids in Flight Form from using Skyguard Bombs during the “Bombing Run” quest and using Skyguard Blasting Charges during the “Fires Over Skettis” quest.
