wow Group Finder May Require SMS Protect in Patch 9.2

It appears you'll need to enable SMS Protect in addition to having an authenticator attached to your account to unlock full access to the Group Finder tool in Patch 9.2.

The change is likely aimed at reducing the infamous Group Finder spam.

Here are global strings that hint at the addition of SMS Protect:

• LFG_AUTHENTICATOR_BUTTON_MYTHIC_PLUS_TOOLTIP - You can't post a Mythic+ group without a keystone until you secure your account with the Battle.net Authenticator and SMS Protect <Click for more info>
• GROUP_FINDER_AUTHENTICATOR_POPUP_DESC - Unlock full access to the group finder by attaching an Authenticator and SMS Protect to your account.|n|nThe Battle.net Authenticator is a free, easy-to-use service that protects your account from intruders, and SMS Protect notifies you when important changes are made to your account.Click "Activate" to launch the Authenticator setup website.

Patch 9.2 Build 41089 also contains many new global strings related to the Click Cast Keybinds function!

i dont really care about grp finder spam, just use premade groups filter and you rarely see any.

i would prefer a solution for the trading chat. sure you can use an addon to block the spam but except for spam you rarely see anyone else post something there anymore and im on one of the bigger realms

Whilst I understand and agree it's frustrating, selling a service, does belong on trade chat.

selling yes but not setting up bots or afk macros for that purpose. if you write them they often dont respond or respond after 15-30 min. ofc some respond instantly but thats not the majority and it always depends on the time. when you write them around 22/23 o'clock they even tell you that theres no more boost runs for today and that they can book you for the next day so why even post those macros if you have nothing to offer at that time? also they use special letters or other things to bypass filter which filter their boost community names.

im ok with the services they offer but they should just create an extra chat for boosting and ban it from normal trade channel so that normal people can use it to buy and sell things again. it was ok when i played on a nearly dead realm for years, it even was ok when i played on my actual realm but on alliance side but when i got back to horde it was the worst experience ever and i instantly installed global ignore list and set up filters for the chat but still nearly no normal player uses trade chat anymore, if you have no filter and you write something its gone in seconds. it just killed normal trading besides the AH

Because the people that fish trade chat for buyers get a commission, so just telling you to come back tomorrow instead of pre-booking you tomorrow means lost gold for them.

I legit don't have a phone that can do this and am not some booster trying to make a case against it.

Been playing this game since MoP and this is just not fair to people who want to play the game and don't want to tie themselves to Google or Apple or Blizzard or any other corporation that uses people's private information as they see fit.

How about you pay like, I don't know, 3 people? to run a Regex on the group finder listings and permaban sellers and actually moderate the game?

Moderating your MMO works for Square it should work for Blizzard.
