The Terror of Soul of Iron: Messages After Teremus Takes Down Many Players in Stormwind

Recommended Posts

Season of Mastery's Soul of Iron/hardcore/ironman challenge has proven to be quite fun for many players, and difficult as well. However, there are some that are making the 1-life mode a LOT harder for those that visit Stormwind, and the players that get taken down in the seeming safety of the Alliance capital have some... harsh words to share with the perpetrator.

Kiting the elite dragon Teremus to Stormwind is a 17-year-old tradition at this point, however due to the Soul of Iron mode in Season of Mastery, it is perhaps not as funny for some today. Taestiranos aka Frond has been playing how to train your dragon (onto players) for a long time now, and he's continued this practice during Season of Mastery as well, taking down some hardcore/Soul of Iron players, and as you can imagine, their responses weren't too positive (this is from one day only):

And here's the actual event that prompted some of the messages:

However, this isn't a Frond-only situation, as there's an even bigger threat over on Obsidian Edge, the unofficial hardcore server where there's plenty more Soul of Iron players, as someone else seems to have had the same idea:

That's a lot of souls ironed. And here's a meme to close it all out:

Forcing people to completely avoid SW if they don't want to randomly lose their ironman run through no fault of their own?

Yeah...that's some bs right there.

Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the anger in players when they die once or 'noo muh parses' when there's boss mechanic on classic. Thanks Frond, had a good laugh reading these pms.

I will never understand what chemical imbalance goes on in someone's brain that they get joy out of making someone else miserable. Is it a failure on the parents, a failure in schools, or were they just destined to be such a failure in life that this is the only way that they can find happiness now?

If dying in a videogame makes you miserable, you should seek psychological help

Blizzard have announced that Season of Mastery characters will be able to transfer to either Classic Era or Wrath of the Lich King Classic when the season ends!
      Som Transfer (Source)
      Hi Everyone,
Since the very beginning of Season of Mastery the topic of where seasonal characters would end up when the season ends has been a hot topic of discussion for not only the community, but for our team internally as well. We’ve spent a ton of times talking amongst ourselves, talking to SoM players, and reading comments on these forums and social media, and it’s very clear that there’s a strong desire to be able to continue the adventures of your seasonal characters in Wrath of the Lich King Classic. We are excited to let everyone know that there will be a way for Season of Mastery characters to transfer to either Classic Era or Wrath of the Lich King Classic for free when the current season begins to wind down.
It’s likely you’ll have questions around this, and we hope to be able to share more details soon. As for timing, this is still quite a ways off and will happen sometime well after the release of Naxxramas in SoM. We want to make sure that Naxxramas has plenty of time to breathe before we start this process and players start to find their new forever homes for their seasonal characters.
Thanks a ton for all of the feedback on this.

Blizzard added support for a Level 70 boost in the latest Wrath Classic Beta build.
The feature is called "Wrath Pass" and can be found under the Character Service Info database table.

It comes with the following Frozen Throne icon.

Blizzard introduced the Dark Portal Pass with Burning Crusade Classic. The service boosts 1 character to Level 58 and costs 40 EUR. Each WoW account is limited to one Dark Portal Pass purchase, according to the official website, so we think it will be the same in Wrath Classic -- a purchasable boost to Level 70 that lets you skip Burning Crusade content.

Blizzard have clarified that they will in fact be implementing quest tracking features into WoTLK Classic, despite developer comments in an interview with Game Rant. They did not mention when the features would arrive, but they are in active development.
      Quest Tracking (Source)
      Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to pop in and say that we do in fact intend to implement the quest tracking features that were added in patch 3.3 of original Wrath of the Lich King into the Quest Log and Map UI at some point. The interviews linked by the OP were a few months old and our thinking has changed quite a bit on this since then.
This feature isn’t present on the Wrath of the Lich King beta at this time, but this along with several other UI features such as the Calendar and Equipment Manager are still in active development.
Thanks for all the feedback around this!
