Gavel of the First Arbiter, the Jailer's Mace Special Effect and Stats Detailed

Recommended Posts

One of the cooler items coming in patch 9.2 is the Jailer's mace, and while we've already seen its awesome Mortal Kombat animation from the fight, we now have its stats as well!  The Gavel of the First Arbiter doesn't actually seem to pull an enemy to you as its animation would imply, but instead (and more appropriately/awesomely) rips its soul out and gives you a buff!

Update: the animation is actually currently just for the actual Jailer's weapon in the fight itself, but we might be seeing something similar with the player one as well (just not yet).
And here's the animation, courtesy of MrGM:

It'll be interesting to see this in action, as there should be some additional effects there as the soul is dragged out and a potential mob to kill as well! Even without knowing what those will look like, it's definitely already taking the place of one of the cooler WoW weapons in general.

...and then you have STR Trinket from Ner'zhul doing something similar and everyone avoids it like a plague.

Wait it's just the first attack on an enemy?

IE one of the biggest raid drop 2Hs is...not for raid bosses?    Probably OP for M+ though?

Sigh.

There's pretty much always adds in boss fights though, only question is the timing on them and the strength of the buff.

I mean...I'd say it's 50-75% of bosses have more than a couple targets (the Nine for example is 3 bosses total,  and you cleave two from the start).

That proc would have to be flipping amazing to make up for the stats it's missing.

Might be some very interesting burst potential if it's a crazy buff for a short time. If not yea, M+ fodder.

For someone who has being the big brains behind everything in warcraft, his mace should have been legendary 😛

That's just the thing, it becomes huge problem for M+ if the buff is too crazy.

IE

"Why do I have to raid endgame to get a good M+ weapon when that's the part of the game I focus on?"

We've been there before (both on pve and pvp gear for that matter).

Eh, I've never really subscribed to that, but I do understand it can be frustrating. WoW has always been about raids for actual gear, but an easy fix would be disabling fancy raid effects in M+ - but you'd better believe M+ players would complain about that too!
