Recommended Posts

Today, we're looking at the most popular DPS for Mythic+ currently on live servers.

DATA RELIABILITY: The data we use in this post is from benched.me. Reddit user OtherwiseUniversity7 plotted all keys available from the Blizzard API (excluding the CN region) on a single ridge plot to gather the data.

Total Runs Recorded

Here are all the runs recorded since Mythic Season 2 started. We use the data further to determine the most popular ranged and melee DPS specializations.

Most Popular Melee DPS for Mythic+

The most popular melee DPS is Havoc DH with more than 3.7 million runs. Windwalker Monk follows with 2.4 million, Fury Warrior is third with 2.3 million runs. The least popular melee DPS is Feral Druid with just 417K runs.

  1. Havoc Demon Hunter - 3,772,059 runs
  2. Windwalker Monk - 2,436,225 runs
  3. Fury Warrior - 2,322,616 runs
  4. Arms Warrior - 1,813,243 runs
  5. Retribution Paladin - 1,204,776 runs
  6. Outlaw Rogue - 1,165,746 runs
  7. Subtlety Rogue - 1,122,819 runs
  8. Unholy Death Knight - 1,097,697 runs
  9. Enhancement Shaman - 771,514 runs
  10. Frost Death Knight - 621,316 runs
  11. Assassination Rogue - 607,067 runs
  12. Survival Hunter - 464,611 runs
  13. Feral Druid - 417,634 runs

Detailed Look at Spec Performance

The meta starts kicking in once rewards are no longer relevant. In other words, when you pass the level needed for the Great Vault reward. That's where casuals stop playing, and dedicated pushers (and the metaclasses they play) take over the population.

Certain non-meta specializations stay stable (or even gain share) in mid-range keys.

In the ranged DPS department, Frost Mage dominates with more than 3.7 million runs completed in Season 2 so far. The spec is followed by two Hunter specializations -- Beast Mastery Hunter with 3.3 million, and Marksmanship Hunter with over 3 million runs. The least popular ranged DPS spec is Demonology Warlock with just 561K runs.

  1. Frost Mage - 3,723,931 runs
  2. Beast Mastery Hunter - 3,373,720 runs
  3. Marksmanship Hunter - 3,053,982 runs
  4. Balance Druid - 2,696,269 runs

  11. Demonology Warlock - 561,964 runs

Feral LUL "working as intended" KEKW

>feral mastery = bleeds
>feral talents = mostly bleeds
>only spec in the game to still use the snapshot mechanic in order to minmax their bleeds

COOL, nice design, lets go hit a boss!!

>wait, why is 75% of my damage ferocious bite?
>are bleeds even worth pressing at this point
>OF COURSE THEY ARE! (..but only because of a conduit that makes them buff ferocious bite lol)

At this point there's a 65% chance the spec designer and the spec number balancer were a couple and then they got divorced and now they hate each other and don't speak with one another at all.

We're looking at a strange bug that affects some proto-drake mounts on live servers.
Many players are reporting issues with their proto-drake mounts on Reddit. The first report is from 5 days ago. The bug affects Reins of the Time-Lost Proto-Drake, which for some reason, no longer flies in the middle of the screen, and its run animation is twice the speed of other proto-drake mounts.

Apparently, Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake is experiencing the same issues while Reins of the Ironbound Proto-Drake and Reins of the Rusted Proto-Drake work as they should.

The second report is from 3 months ago and showcases the strange mount animation. It claims that all proto-drake mounts except for those from Ulduar are affected by the bug.

Did you experience this strange bug on live servers?

Patch 9.2.5 appears to be the first update to the game where major story elements remain heavily encrypted. In the latest PTR update, Blizzard shipped an encrypted 9.2.5 splash screen, which is something they've never done before.
Players are prompted with a splash screen when they log in to the game for the first time when an update goes live. It shows you what's new in the patch. Here's the splash screen for Patch 9.2.

The splash screen for Patch 9.2.5 was shipped in the latest build, but it is encrypted and cannot be previewed. Maybe it has something to do with the mysterious Stormwind and Orgrimmar updates or the Forsaken (spoiler alert).
However, the splash screen text for Patch 9.2.5 is available for preview but contains no spoilers.
New in Season 4! Shadowlands Season 4 - Earn new rewards in Mythic Keystone dungeons and PvP. New Mythic+ Dungeons - Experience iconic legacy dungeons with Mythic affixes! Fated Raids - Return to Shadowlands raids for a new challenge and new rewards.

Reddit user nazranramlee noticed something interesting while visiting their local hospital in Malaysia. The TV was showing the Mists of Pandaria trailer on repeat.

Apparently, this isn't specific to just one hospital in the country.
Reddit user aimlessart saw the same trailer playing over and over in another hospital they have been visiting for over 6 years, claiming they both might have been set up by the same contractor who thought the Mists of Pandaria trailer looked visually appealing for entertainment purposes.
The contractor most likely never bothered to update the visuals again, which is why the TVs are constantly running the same Mists of Pandaria trailer while people wait in queue.
