Ruined Crest of Lordaeron Shield Disabled This Week in Sepulcher

Blizzard have announced that the  Ruined Crest of Lordaeron will be disabled this week in the Sepulcher raid, as there's been an issue with it they can't immediately fix. The shield will also be receiving a visual makeover to look more like its name implies, and will be back next week.

Hey folks - while preparing to release the last three bosses of Sepulcher of the First Ones tomorrow, we discovered an issue with the Ruined Crest of Lordaeron, a shield that drops from the Lords of Dread encounter. This issue isn’t something we’ll be able to resolve in the next day before launch, and we don’t believe it’s worth holding back the release tomorrow, so this means that we’ll be disabling the item from the Lords of Dread loot table until the next weekly reset on 3/15.

We understand that many players have been making decisions about what raid compositions and classes to run in anticipation of the Sepulcher’s more mysterious and challenging encounters becoming available, and not having access to this higher-item level piece during that first week puts a damper on that excitement for those affected.

While we don’t believe it’ll take us the entire week to solve the issue, we’re leaving it disabled so as not to disadvantage the more cutting-edge raiders who will be clearing the Lords of Dread earlier in the week vs those who would come around to it later. It’s also worth noting that despite this unfortunate situation, the Ruined Crest of Lordaeron will still be available in 3/15’s Great Vault for eligible raiders who manage to take down the Lords of Dread this week.

Luckily, the news isn’t all bad. We’ve heard the feedback that the First-Ones visuals didn’t match up with the name and theme of the item, which many felt were ill-fitting of such an iconic Warcraft character in Mal’Ganis. When the shield is re-enabled with the 3/15 reset, it’ll be sporting an entirely new, exclusive appearance that some very old-school members of the Alliance may remember well…

Whatever's wrong with it, couldn't they just let it drop and disable whatever effect it has? That way people that get it can use it the moment the effect is fixed?

Blizzard has disabled effects before in hotfixes (ie legion trinkets that could one shot in pvp) so the technology is there.

 

Now shield users get shafted?

Yeah seems strange.   If nothing else they could just erase the effect and put some static stats on it to compensate.

      Blizzard have detailed Mythic+ dungeon tuning that's live already, with Uldaman and Neltharus getting some changes.

      With hotfixes that are now live, we’ve made the following adjustments to Mythic+ dungeons:
      Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr
      Timer increased by 1 minute. Neltharus
      Chargath, Bane of Scales Fiery Focus’s Fire damage reduced by 25%.

      Savage Ebony Battle Turtle is an upcoming promotion mount coming in Patch 10.2.7.
      The mount will be available in some sort of Promotion in the future.

      The new War Within Allied Races was added to the Alpha today and we already have a full look at not only all their customization options, but their dances as well, courtesy of MrGM! You can check out the Earthen's racial abilities here if you missed them earlier. 
      Let's start with the more dynamic feature, with both male and female dances:

      So, are we liking the new Allied Race overall? More than actual dwarves?

      Here's a really cool possibility for the War Within, as a very subtle and mildly mysterious comment from Executive Producer and Vice President for WoW, Holly Longdale, may be hinting at our Warband characters getting a lot more involved in our travels! 
      First spotted by UlthansWrath, Longdale came up to Taliesin & Evitel at the recent London War Within Alpha press event and had a short chat about the Warband screen, when she casually said "wouldn't it be cool if those were the characters you took as your followers in your Follower Dungeons?" After the obvious confirmation from Taliesin and Evitel that, yes, yes it would be cool, she just said "hm" and that was the end of the conversation.
      Obviously this isn't any sort of official confirmation, but considering this is a really awesome idea, it seems likely Blizzard are at the very least discussing it, if not already working on it.

      The Warband system is already great, and this would add a lot to it for players that choose to go solo into dungeons, as it would give them even more motivation to get some great characters in their Warband - even if it was just a cosmetic option.
      So, what do you think, will we be seeing this feature when the War Within launches?
