Step right up and prepare to be amazed!

The Darkmoon Faire celebrates the wondrous, exotic, and mysterious from around Azeroth! This mist-shrouded island is a conundrum wrapped in an enigma, accessible for one week only at the beginning of each month.

Come closer for a tantalizing glimpse of what Faire founder, Silas Darkmoon, brings for all to see!

When

Starting on the first Sunday of each month, lasting one week.

Where

Make your way to Darkmoon Island through portals in Elwynn Forest (Alliance) and Mulgore (Horde). You can easily reach the portals located in Elwynn Forest and Mulgore by paying a Darkmoon Faire Mystic Mage (located in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dalaran) to teleport you there.

Although there is no level restriction to attend the Faire, you can only travel to the island while the Darkmoon Faire is open.

Currency

Darkmoon Game Tokens

  • Many of the games and attractions require Darkmoon Game Tokens to enjoy. Tokens can be purchased from vendors—Sazz Coincatcher, Zina Sharpworth, and Trixi Sharpworth—located around the faire.

Darkmoon Prize Tickets

  • Completing games and quests on Darkmoon Island will generally reward you with Darkmoon Prize Tickets. These are used to purchase most of the items you will find on sale at the Darkmoon Faire.

The Darkmoon Arcade

Seek out mechagnome Lynnish Hardmode, the Arcade Proprietor behind the Darkmoon Rollercoaster to take on your favorite Azerothian arcade games, including:

  • HexSweeper: A most dangerous game wherein one must traverse an arcane mine field and identify all the booby-trapped areas. Instant death rewards the slightest misstep.
  • Rune Matching: The rules are simple! Match 3 or more runes for points. More than 3 and you get bonus points. If you manage to get 100,000 points, you might unlock an additional level of difficulty.
  • Bull-E: Uncross the wires to fix poor Bull-E’s circuits. There is only one difficulty level: Pretty easy to insane-o hard. Give up and you have to start from the beginning.
  • Barrels o’ Fun: Keep your eye on the barrel. One barrel will flash at the start of each round. Remember which one it is, and pick it when they’re all done moving around.
  • Remembery: Flip the shells Remember where they are, and match the pairs.
  • Totemic Matrix: To develop harmony with the elements, one must study and understand the interactions between them. The totemic matrix is an ancient training method, a puzzle that will challenge one’s mind and spirit. The object of the exercise is to transform all the totems to water totems. Simply touch a totem to invoke it. Know that all things are connected, a lesson invaluable in this puzzle…as in life.

It will cost 1 Darkmoon Game Token to unlock the console for the day, but you’ll be able to play as long as you like. Your reward? The warm fuzzy feeling of achieving victory in the pursuit of mind over machine.

Blight Boar Concert

Get ready to shred some chords—Blight Boar plays literal death metal at the Cauldron of Rock every half hour.

Rage on stage with the undead band and defeat the Death Metal Knight who tries to upstage their performance. Prove you’re the ultimate superfan during the encounter by defeating the Death Metal Knight and his Ghouls. We're in week 11 of the Sepulcher raid, so it's high time we switched our focus over to Mythic, with over 126 guilds having finished the raid at maximum difficulty. As we move to Mythic we're also taking a look at the individual boss charts, so you get a better idea of what's happening where (and we're also still covering Heroic at the end as well).
      Mythic
      95th Percentile
We don't have a comparison point for the high percentiles in Mythic, since it's the first week of the switch, but we can compare it to last week's Heroic chart. Destruction is the very top of the pile in Mythic (and you can read about why in last week's entry), both in the high percentiles and overall, but Frost DK is doing just as well as it is in Heroic, actually beating out Demonology in the higher difficulty. Marksmanship is also in a much better position here, and Retribution is especially benefiting from the increase in difficulty, as it's 8 spots higher than in Heroic!

95th percentile Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
We do have a direct week-to-week comparison in the all percentiles chart, and here we see Demonology actually climb up a spot and take 2nd place away from Survival. Retribution actually falls a little as Havoc takes its place in 9th and Windwalker pushes it out of the top 10, while Feral nose-dives down 9 spots towards the bottom.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Halondrus
Moving on to the individual bosses, Halondrus is where Enhancement shines most, closely followed by fellow melees Assassination and Feral.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Anduin Wrynn
Anduin isn't quite the main reason Destruction is doing so well, but he's definitely contributing, as Survival and Frost get their fill here as well.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Rygelon
The Destruction booster himself, as you can see Rygelon's Scouring Tithe interaction brings the Warlocks to the very top in the overall rankings, with the VERY few Feral Druids popping up to the top here as well.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      The Jailer
The Jailer is more in favor of the other Warlock flavor, as Demo is making its name here, while Ferals gather in a more respectable number to show that the Rygelon placement wasn't necessarily a fluke.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Heroic
While it's relegated to the bottom of the post, Heroic is still very relevant, with much higher numbers of players giving its data a lot of validity and credibility. This week we see a new No.1 in the overall bracket, as Demonology takes over from Survival and Shadow bumps Enhancement down one, with Balance doing the same to Marksmanship.

All percentiles Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here, for a DPS tier list you can go here, or for even more data, head on over to Warcraft Logs. You can also check out our Sepulcher raid guides.

After a long time of only being available via the Overwolf app, CurseForge has announced that it is now once again available in standalone form! The CurseForge addon manager app Alpha is now available and you can download it over on their site (but be careful to click the right link):

This arrives as a reaction to a prolonged period of some players voicing their dissatisfaction over the client only being available via Overwolf, and was revealed together with a larger announcement of the CurseForge API being released  (you can read the full version here), and here is the relevant section:
We take community feedback seriously. Many of the community members voiced their preference for a leaner approach to managing mods. We’ve taken this into consideration and developed a standalone version of the CurseForge app on Windows, based on Electron, which you can download here.
As with the Linux version, it currently supports World of Warcraft only. We plan to keep this version in feature parity with the Overwolf version in the future. Please note, this is fresh from the oven and currently on Alpha.
If you have any questions or feedback about this, please join our Discord and let us know.
This was initially spotted by scytherz over on reddit, and you can check out that thread for plenty of comments on the new app's functionality, relative light weight, and other details players have tested.

We're looking at a strange bug that affects some proto-drake mounts on live servers.
Many players are reporting issues with their proto-drake mounts on Reddit. The first report is from 5 days ago. The bug affects Reins of the Time-Lost Proto-Drake, which for some reason, no longer flies in the middle of the screen, and its run animation is twice the speed of other proto-drake mounts.

Apparently, Reins of the Violet Proto-Drake is experiencing the same issues while Reins of the Ironbound Proto-Drake and Reins of the Rusted Proto-Drake work as they should.

The second report is from 3 months ago and showcases the strange mount animation. It claims that all proto-drake mounts except for those from Ulduar are affected by the bug.

Did you experience this strange bug on live servers?

Patch 9.2.5 appears to be the first update to the game where major story elements remain heavily encrypted. In the latest PTR update, Blizzard shipped an encrypted 9.2.5 splash screen, which is something they've never done before.
Players are prompted with a splash screen when they log in to the game for the first time when an update goes live. It shows you what's new in the patch. Here's the splash screen for Patch 9.2.

The splash screen for Patch 9.2.5 was shipped in the latest build, but it is encrypted and cannot be previewed. Maybe it has something to do with the mysterious Stormwind and Orgrimmar updates or the Forsaken (spoiler alert).
However, the splash screen text for Patch 9.2.5 is available for preview but contains no spoilers.
New in Season 4! Shadowlands Season 4 - Earn new rewards in Mythic Keystone dungeons and PvP. New Mythic+ Dungeons - Experience iconic legacy dungeons with Mythic affixes! Fated Raids - Return to Shadowlands raids for a new challenge and new rewards.

Reddit user nazranramlee noticed something interesting while visiting their local hospital in Malaysia. The TV was showing the Mists of Pandaria trailer on repeat.

Apparently, this isn't specific to just one hospital in the country.
Reddit user aimlessart saw the same trailer playing over and over in another hospital they have been visiting for over 6 years, claiming they both might have been set up by the same contractor who thought the Mists of Pandaria trailer looked visually appealing for entertainment purposes.
The contractor most likely never bothered to update the visuals again, which is why the TVs are constantly running the same Mists of Pandaria trailer while people wait in queue.
