Dragonflight Leak Reveals Expansion Villain, Allied Race Pre-Order Bonus and Release Window

Recommended Posts

65430-how-to-opt-in-for-dragonflight-bet

You may have thought the season of leaks was over since we actually got the expansion reveal, but there is one left it seems. While the February Dragonflight leak wasn't at all correct, there was a really quick one a few days ago that has some credibility at this point, as it gets basically everything from the reveal right - but it also has some additional info that was not shared quite yet.

Obviously, spoilers ahead and none of this is confirmed and can only be considered speculation at this point.

As tweeted by TheRedShirtGuy, a 4chan thread correctly predicted the features of Dragonflight that have been announced (with some minor discrepancies), but also shared some more that haven't:

And the actual leak:

Dragonflight
new race Dracthyr
new class Invoker
dragon isles 5 zones
rework talents, dragonflight covennant, no player power
new allied race preorder bonus
wrathion and alexstasza main heroes, villain is murozond
release q1 2023

- No.380491038

Now this doesn't mean that the still unannounced parts are necessarily correct, as the person may have known only part of of the information (as evidenced by the Invoker and 5 zones incorrect details, with the Dragonflight covenant referring to the Renown levels for all the dragonflights or perhaps the dragonriding skill tree) and added the rest in. But the actual new information makes a lot of sense, on all three counts, so it might just be real.

Muzorond being the villain makes the most sense in general, as we still haven't found out exactly what happens to Nozdormu that makes him change, and it's been a loose thread for a long time now, with the Dragon Isles being the perfect place for that story to take place. The release window is also very logical and has been expected by most players due to Shadowlands Season 4 and its duration, while the allied race is an interesting piece of info, as we don't know what it might be (although the leading contenders are the new Tuskarr and Gnolls). Presumably the pre-order bonus refers to it being available early to everyone that pre-orders, and everyone else on expansion release, similar to how BfA did it.

So what do you think? Would Muzorond make a good villain? Will there even be a "main" villain in the expansion? We have seen Blizzard reluctant to present the potential big bad in the announcement, perhaps due to the way the Jailer turned out, but to completely skip it for an expansion would be a very interesting move.

I doubt they'd make the pre order bonus an allied race, the ability to play the dracthyr/evoker early is more probable.

Well we haven't seen really anything from Nozdormus twisted self aka Murozond since Cataclysm End Times Dungeon sooo could be sth cool. Tbh I loved the Eternal Dragonflight.

Why not both! 😄

If they had another race planned, why keep it secret? It's a huge selling point. This leak doesn't seem very likely.

I'd say because announcing it now when they do not want pre-oders open would be extremely confusing. If they announce the race and not the pre-order bonus status people would be pissed. If they announce it AND the pre-order status people would be annoyed they can't pre-order now.

Gonna call this fake...as lame as it was to "waste" a great villain we already dealt with Murozond as a 5-man dungeon boss (who was also pretty pathetic in his broken mind state).    Suddenly bringing him back and upgrading him to an expansion level boss seems loopy.

I'm going to say Denathrius is re-constituted and resurrects Galakrond.   Arthas already did the preliminary work after all.    Giant dragon bigger than Deathwing > sad mind broken time dragon.

Though of course, a sad mind broken time dragon could have been broken by the same thing "What's to come..." as the Jailer if they wanted to go hard in that direction.

They're gonna want to stay as far way from Shadowlands connections as they can, no way Denny comes back this soon. Also your reasoning for Muzorond is exactly why I think he will be the villain, as he was wasted in a dungeon and is one of the bigger threats in general. And with what's been done to the canon... I don't think the fact he was "defeated" means anything.

Still nothing there for me to play WoW again. Neither a new race, allied race, dragon mount or mount customization is anything close to substantial and consistent content. I know....this is just the first reveal, but WoW has major, major issues and they must be solved after 2 disastrous expansions.

No need to go further into details, the problems have been yelled at Blizzard since ages. Dragonflight must have the impact of Legion (which was not perfect, but repaired a lot after the WoD disaster), to stop the downward spiral. I hope they listened and learned.

was really hoping they'd do more work on the allied races after BfA, since it's one of the few things that players liked back then. Though, this is a theory, they're saving something big as playable Naga or Ogres for 2024, when the anniversary comes

I googled murozond because I couldn't remember, and wowpedia says he's killable in Cata and "deceased (lore)."

Is this going to be one of those "we manipulate time and he's back" things?

Perhaps, but same can be said about Dracthyr. Many people want to play them and they will be upset if they won't be available early.

He was defeated by 5 of us and a random bronze drake.    That's pretty sad for an expansion big bad.

Murozond should be dead, but who knows with all these alternate realities. Could this be another another Murozond/Nozdormu? All this timey-wimey stuff, someone could also go back in time and pull his past version that wasn't killed yet?

Well no, because that's his future form. Currently in the timeline he hasn't even been "born", since Nozdormu becomes him at some future point we don't know. So it would be cool if this is that future point and we defeat but don't kill him, only for him to go on into the future come back and be already killed by us 😄

Eh not really, since it's a new class too, so it's kind of a wash. Also their story is extremely linked to the expansion, so not having them early makes a lot of sense - they appear when the Dragon Isles re-open, which doesn't happen until the expansion.

except he wasn't an actual big bad at the time, just a potential one and at the end of the dungeon Nozdormu says the timeline is sealed so there is no way he can ever now become Murozond so it's just more of Blizz backtracking / retconning old ideas because they literally have no new ideas that aren't garbage.  entire xpac is just gonna be Cataclysm 2.0 it looks like, bringing back the Dragonflights that were supposed to have passed on and retired at the end of Cataclysm cause it was suppose to be the time for mortals to take over

You needed 5 beers, it would've been clearer then. There are 5 major dragonflights after all.

For the Invoker part, it can be misunderstood when you pronounce Invoker or Evoker, from my point of view is a very minor mistake,

Regarding the 5 zones, I believe he was right. If I remember correctly, Ion said that there will be 5 zones, 1 starting zone for the new race and 4 leveling zones. Total of 5.

But as the article states, until the information is confirmed by Blizzard it should be treated as speculation.

While technically correct I think that's a bit of a stretch as "zones"...in the context used...generally refer to areas that everyone has access to.

It seems WoW Token prices have stabilized now after the steep decrease followed by Blizzard's implementation of anti-bot measures, effective November 21.
We're using WoWTokenPrices to compare WoW Token prices in the US and EU regions.
      US Region
The one-day low reached 250,863 gold in the US region, down from 255,976 gold on November 23. The peak soared to 269,216 gold, down from 291,520 gold compared to November 23. As of now, the WoW Token costs 263,465 gold (down from 266,798 gold).

      EU Region
Currently, the WoW Token is valued at 320,982 gold (down from 352,730 gold). The day's lowest price was recorded at 317,016 gold (down from 349,699 gold), contrasting with a high of 342,126 gold (down from 393,678 gold).

As you can see, WoW Token prices continue to decrease slightly in both regions, but the drop isn't as significant.
We'll continue to monitor the latest WoW Token prices, so keep an eye out for further updates!
