Recommended Posts

7r4u5ni.jpeg

All classes can roll Mages, Priests, and Rogues in the Dragonflight expansion. In this post, we're looking at all the new race/class combos you can create.

New Race / Class Combos in Dragonflight

The Allied Race that benefits the most out of these new combos is Highmountain Tauren. You'll be able to roll the following new eight race/class combinations in the Dragonflight pre-patch.

  • Draenei Rogue
  • Highmountain Tauren Mage
  • Highmountain Tauren Priest
  • Highmountain Tauren Rogue
  • Lightforged Draenei Rogue
  • Orc Priest
  • Tauren Mage
  • Tauren Rogue

MrGM made a video about the new combinations that you can watch below.

I mean, I get their point. But, this feels just silly. There should be lore reasons why certain races can't certain classes.

Just let Pandas be warlocks. Why can't a Pandaren tap into dark magic when they can be mages. Warlock is my favourite DPS and Pandas my favourite race and I can't have both ;_;

Have you ever saw one evil pandaren?

You didn't. It's part of their culture. Why would a pandaren indulge in something as undoubtedly corrupting and malicious as Fel? Priests, the closest thing you get to one, balance the Shadow with Light, and Deathknights are risen corpses who had no say in it.

Same thing why this entire idea is yet another instance of them trying to shove "woke" inclusiveness even when it defies common sense, in a cultural (Orc priests, when they do not worship Light or Void, nor any associated deities) or even physiological way (sneaking around with hooves. Yay.)

Just because certain role isn't popular among some cultures, doesn't mean there can't be any exceptions. Races have spent a lot of time around each other, so it's not unlikely that some of them might decide to follow a different path than usual. Besides, the moment they started introducing things like Tauren paladins, all bets were off.

Even D&D 5th edition allows any class for any race (while previous editions were more restrictive), and a lot of stuff in Warcraft was inspired by D&D.

Ok. I get there might be some restrictions, but as said above it shouldn't matter as much now. And if we want to keep it with lore... Let's say you have to have a character of certain race maxed out and you unlock class possibilities. Maybe add a story to that? If you force me to level up anyway let's make it so I can create a, as I said, Pandaren warlock and do a story. Or just imply it. A mage striving for power falling into dark arts? Or maybe you just want to have a funny Imp friend? Warlock doesn't have to evil. Just... questionable ethics. If some class can be Warrior and can be a Priest, why not be a Paladin. It's literally a warrior priest. Even more devoted to the light. And so on and so on. Restrictions only make game worse at this point.

I'd consider a Tauren Rogue named Cowmooflage

Sadly Cowmooflage is taken...I tried already...but I did manage to reserve the name Shinobeef by making a Vulpera rogue that I plan on race changing once the pre-patch goes live.

I mean, a rogue with a stomp-stun?  Its better than most of the other racial options.

You know those little soft pads you put under legs and feet or furniture so they don't scratch your floor?

Maybe the lore explanation for rogue dranei and tauren is they put those onto their hooves to soften the sound of their clomping.

6 for Horde and 2 for Alliance?

I'm hoping they make some more paladin options for Alliance to even things out.

Last week we made the big switch to focus on Mythic logs and today we're going to be taking a look at the tank and healer situation in the maximum difficulty for the Sepulcher, as well as our usual DPS roundup.
      Mythic
      95th Percentile
Destruction moves even further ahead in Mythic this week, as we see some additional movement in the top 3, with Frost DK dropping 2 spots to Demonology and Survival. There's actually been a lot of 2-spot moves this week, starting with Windwalker's rise to 6th, moving past Elemental and Retribution, who are having a bad week as Unholy also slapped them both down to move into 8th, but at least they stay in the top 10 (and swap places). Havoc remains firm at No.10, with Frost taking the Mage crown and finishing the week in 11th. The bottom remains much the same, with only Assassination managing to crawl out of there, rising 5 spots!

95th percentile Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
A very firm top 5 in the generalist bracket as we see no changes from  last week, but then a bit of a reverse from the high percentiles as Unholy drops 1 spot to Marksmanship. Havoc is just as stable here, but a little bit higher up, with Windwalker and Retribution closing out the top 10.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Tank DPS and Healer HPS
While tank DPS isn't exactly the most crucial stat there is, we at least have something to compare them with here, so let's take a look. Guardian has stepped it up a notch as they take the crown, but both Paladins and Warriors are very close, with DKs not too far behind either.
All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
Healers are very stable, as the Mythic rankings look identical to the Heroic ones from a few weeks ago, with Druids and Monks dominating.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Heroic
Frost DKs are back at No.2 on Heroic, as Demonology rules over all and Destruction remains in the middle of the pack. Havoc is rising this week and has positioned it self at No.4, knocking Shadow down one, as Balance hops 1 up into 6th. Subtletly has a big drop this week, as it moves all the way down to 14th from its previous top 10 spot.

All percentiles Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here, for a DPS tier list you can go here, or for even more data, head on over to Warcraft Logs. You can also check out our Sepulcher raid guides.

Blizzard has changed the eye color of Dark Ranger Captain Delaryn Summermoon in Patch 9.2.5. Delaryn was raised by Sylvanas during the Battle for Darkshore. In this post, we speculate about the eye change in more detail.
Delaryn Summermoon was the captain of the Darnassian City Guard and a commander of the night elven forces who fought during the War of Thorns. She was raised into undeath as a dark ranger of the Forsaken during the Battle for Darkshore. She along with other undead night elves sought Calia Menethil to help them.
      Source: Wowpedia
Delaryn's eyes currently have a red/blueish Death Knight glow on live servers and they gave her proper red eyes in Patch 9.2.5. The customization option exists in the game files for a while now and isn't exactly new. Below you can see her updated eyes in mode detail. Thanks to simaia and MrGM for spotting the change.
Placeholder for tweet 1528735870441771011 What could the new eye color mean? For one, we have rumors circulating about a potential Dragonflight pre-order Allied Race. We also know that something's brewing in Lordaeron with updates to Brill and Calia Menethil. Do you think Calia might end up leading the fallen Night Elves that have been raised by Sylvanas (dark rangers) or could this be a Hunter customization option like the Night Warrior? Let us know down in the comments!
Keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed by Blizzard yet and we'll need to wait until the update goes live.

Grimrail Depot will be added to the Mythic+ pool of dungeons in Shadowlands Season 4. Here's a sample +10 run of the Warlords of Draenor dungeon from the Patch 9.2.5 PTR.
The sample run includes testing of the new Season 4 Affix called Shrouded. Thanks to MrGM for the video.
Blizzard added a new accessibility option for players that hides moving environment pieces in Maw of Souls and Grimrail Depot. You can buy the elixir from an NPC at the beginning of both dungeons.

Heartbond Lupine received a new flying animation in Patch 9.2.5. In this post, we compare the old and new animations in more detail.
Heartbond Lupine is a mount added in Patch 9.2 that comes from Protoform Synthesis. Its current flying animation makes it look as if the mount was swimming in the air.

In Patch 9.2.5 the flying run animation has been updated as you can see below. The mount no longer swims but walks in the air.

Which animation do you prefer? Let us know in the comments!
