Arclight Rumble Will Not Have Loot Boxes or NFTs

We have new information coming out of a GamerBraves interview with Art director Jeremy Collins and Senior Software Engineer Andy Lim, as they explain that the game will not feature loot boxes or NFTs. Many players were concerned as the game wasn't available in Belgium, where there are strict laws aginst loot boxes and similar mechanics, but with Blizzard's clarification that may change before it is released.

“There’s no loot box mechanics or anything like that in the game. If you want to purchase a unit, you basically scroll down to the bottom of the store, we have various different bundle sizes, you buy a bundle coin and spend it exactly on what you want because it is already in your store and you can buy it right then. So there’s no conjecture on what you’re getting at the end of the day.”

They have also confirmed that there will be no NFTs in the game. We didn’t expect that there would be, but it’s good to know that there won’t.

There's plenty more information on the game in the interview, from the 5 families you can choose, the PvE focus and 70 missions, the differences between it and Clash Royal, and more, so make sure to read the whole thing over at GamerBraves.

How soon until something is added to the mobile game that will give you mats, gold or other resources as rewards in WoW if you play the mobile game?  Since they claim they are removing the mission table from WoW, I can totally see the functionality and rewards being put into the mobile game instead.  that way they incentivize people to play the new mobile game and get to keep their engagement numbers up.

NFTs in a mobile game are a thing? Am I old now?

They will put anything in a mobile game if they think it will get you to spend more money.  It's amazing looking at the quarterly report Act-Blizz released and seeing just how Blizz looks almost tiny and pitiful compared to King in both active users and revenue.  King and their mobile games basically seem to be the only thing keeping Act-Blizz afloat

Even Activision is way smaller than King, "only" 100m when King has over 240m. Blizzard lost some users, compared to last quarter of the previous year. Down to 22m from 24m. Shows how really small they are in comparison.

I don't understand why people can't pay for a game? The game is F2P, so ofc they have to pay somehow they sallary for those who made it.

After 14 years of partnership, Blizzard and NetEase hit a rough patch in 2022, leading to failed negotiations. Consequently, when the licensing agreement concluded on January 23, 2023, Blizzard's game services were suspended across mainland China.
