Updates to Tirisfal Glades and Undercity in Patch 9.2.5

Recommended Posts

w3NV2ve.jpeg

In our latest post, we preview the changes to Undercity and Tirisfal Glades in Patch 9.2.5. This post contains story spoilers.

Highlights

  • The entrance to Undercity is closed off you can't enter it from the Throne Room as there is no elevator.
  • The green goo is gone and you no longer take damage when you enter the area. In the "Return to Lordaeron" questline, you help Calia clear blight from the zone. The whole zone was blighted since Battle for Azeroth and the intro scenario.
  • Dark Rangers on the rooftops are defending the city.

Derek Proudmoore, Calia Menethil, Lilian Voss, and Dark Ranger Veolnara are chilling outside of a random wall outside of the Ruins of Lordaeron. They have formed the Desolate Council and will lead the Forsaken going forward.

Some vendors from the Undercity can now be found outside of the Ruins of Lordaeron. It almost appears as if they were trying to rebuild the city. There's a guild vendor, stable master, refugees hanging around campfires, and more.

The Undead and the Horde have taken back Brill in Patch 9.2.5. We have a new building being built by Forsaken Laborers.

There is a new flight path in Brill. A lot of NPCs that were there during Cataclysm have returned. Brill has some assets from the Darkshore Warfront, like this tent.

It seems like Undercity is truly done for, which is somewhat sad to hear. It would be neat to build upon the old city on the surface, though. I just hope these "looks like they're rebuilding" assets and animations don't stay at this stage for 2-3 expansions.

hopefully we get back the UNDERcity and not just some generic city.

i dont know how to feel about that the coucel that leads the forsaken is 2/3 brand new undeads with more ties to the alience then the horde but that maybe could be a sign for eliminating the borders all together. should we go into a reall war again i wont trust what these two say

It is still blighted underground, we only helped them to cleanse the surface. Same reason we won't see a new nigh elf capital on another tree. I think Lordaeron Keep will end up like Gnomeregan, part of it is cleansed and the rest will remain as it is. You could say this capital city got gnomed!

Nah, the questline implies they'll go on with purifying the catacombs, but it'd take some time, so they remain of the surface for the moment.

Some time until the prepatch, I imagine.

Good one-liner! Man, I'm choked. I just want to head to the war quarter but get lost and wind up in the mage quarter instead. I guess they could make Brill the new capitol, or the surface castle. Just something worthy.

That's encouraging I suppose. I hope they build on that at some point.

This whole thing is a mess and Calia is at the center of it.

"Hey random person who hasn't had anything to do with the Forsaken AT ALL and just popped up out of nowhere.... why don't you come lead with us? Want to?"

Like seriously? Seriously?

-_________-

How cooked is this stuff.

What's the issue here? You want an eternal conflict between horde and alliance? We are way past that, it's for the classic era, which you can still play. Now that we have cross faction playing, there is no reason there can't be cross faction leaders etc. Eventually there is no reason to have factions. Just unite them all.

I'mma have to throw rotten tomatoes at you homie.

Too many PVE kings that forget what WoW is made of. Too many blue names and happy happy peachy rosie bleh...

This is a war. We are at war and we will continue to be at war.

(plus there's like 100 MMOs without factions if that's what you want 😄 )

Then by this "logic" Forsaken and Blood Elves should have never joined the Horde, because they were both formerly Alliance and their old enemies from Second War. Old enemies can join forces too, especially when there are always bigger enemies to fight.

From gameplay perspective, factions were pretty much dead when only one was fully playable. This is why crossfaction was the only solution and they should expand this feature into guilds and so on. Also, WoW has always been primarily PvE game, PvP was just some additional content, it never received the same level of attention as PvE. Btw, we had merc mode for years now, because Horde was suffering from longer bg queues due to more players moving there. Sorry to break it to you, but you've probably killed a lot of Horde there thinking they were Alliance.

Again, for lore reasons. We are past war at this point in the story. We had our 4th war... and both factions are pretty much tired of this endless conflict.

It's like saying we should keep having World War's because nations should never have diplomatic ties. Logic doesn't add up.

Also PvP is still a thing sooooooo....

Factions still exist. Just not the need for war.

Also there's PvP still. Please learn a new argument.

A city will be built on the surface and Worgens will get back their city as well. NE might take refuge on Gilneas as well. That seed from winter queen will be placed in dragon isles. That's why Ysera said she knows a place which is lost

oh no thats not what i mean. i hope they allow even more cross faction stuff so i can play the whole xpac with my horde guilde while leveling my gnome and not only play the endgame content together.

what i meant was that the councel has so many member that are just "recently" awoken as undead but to be honest after talking about that with my wife we coulndt think of any famouse undeads other then lillian. and my other point was if blizz changes course again and we have war in 3 xpacs again i woulndt trust these two to much to fight dor the horde but in the end the forsaken always worked more for there own intrest then for the horde

and 100 MMOs out there with factions for you... maintaining the status quo for maintaining it is not usually the best move

Times change, and you need to learn how to change with them. I've played since BC (partly end of vanilla), with breaks here and there ofc, and I really can't see why you want literally the same game, over 15 years. Without change.

Why not play Vanilla then?

Acting like having factions is "the same game over 15 years" is a little nonsensical.

We've had mages for 15 years. Should we get rid of them too?

You make very poor arguments, incredible really.

Would you say, that mages are they same they were, as in vanilla? 🙂

Nor are factions.

Why do you have to try and be insulting though? Just be nice.

Today's hotfixes are still very Plunderstorm-heavy, but we do get fixes for more achievement-related mount issues and PvP catch-up, in addition to the limited time event's adjustments.
      March 27 (Source)
      Achievements
Fixed bugs causing mounts related to A World Awoken to be unavailable, including Bestowed Ottuk Vanguard, Bestowed Trawling Mammoth, Bestowed Thunderspine Packleader, Bestowed Sandskimmer, Bestowed Ohuna Spotter, Coralscale Salamanther, Stormtouched Bruffalon, and Taivan. Player versus Player
Fixed an issue that prevented Splintered Sparks of Dreams from dropping from PvP sources while eligible for catch-up. Plunderstorm
The Storm’s fury swells! Lightning strikes during the final stage of the Storm are faster and more dangerous than before. There is now a delay of 20 seconds after being revived where players no longer drop collected Plunder. Additional enemies now spawn at Witherbark Village, the wild area northeast of Go’Shek Farm, and the wild area between Witherbark Village and Boulderfist Hall. Fixed an issue where swapping back to default sword and gun appearances were not saving correctly. Fixed an issue so that now, picking up an additional rank 2 spell while the same rank 2 spell is equipped properly grants the rank 4 version of the spell. The Captain’s Orders quest “X Marks the Spot” now requires 1 item to be picked up (was 2 items).

Well that didn't take long! We found out someone had broken the 700,000 Plunder milestone yesterday evening, and we're already done with the full amount now! Soularpower_ managed to grind it out a couple of hours ago in duos, and grabbed the Plunderkind achievement, so huge congratulations! It's been a week and a day since the event was released, and despite there being plenty of Plunder drop buffs since then it's still great to see someone get it all done already.

Unsurprisingly, the first thing Soularpower_ after reaching that goal was... play more Plunderstorm! He's actually still at it if now you want to check the stream out.

Here's our first post-patch look at the Mythic+ log rankings. While the patch didn't really touch any of the DPS or tank specs, there's still some movement there, especially in the raw DPS chart. Healers got some solid changes in the patch, and the definitely had an effect.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top percentiles are extremely stable, which makes sense since the patch didn't really bring any significant changes for DPS specs. We have to go down to number 7 to see the first bit of movement, as Destruction moves two up, leaving its fellow Warlock down in 9th, as Arms gets between them, gaining 3 spots. Havoc closes out the top 10 three down, and right behind it we find the newly buffed Elemental moving three up. While Augmentation is being properly calculated, we still find an Evoker in the bottom 3, as Devastation drops one down and takes Marksmanship's place.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
It took Shadow a little longer to get into the top in the generalist bracket, as we find it in 3rd now, pushing Outlaw down one. Balance also moves up, 2 spots into 6th, as it and Arms take advantage of Havoc's fall. The Demon Hunter finds itself 3 down in 9th, while Fury remains stable at the very end of the top 10.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
While Outlaw remains at the top, pretty much everything's changing beneath it. Shadow and Retribution joined forces and moved two up together, breaking into the top 3. Fire is also on the rise, gaining 3 spots, and right behind it we find another big leaper, as Arms moves a whopping 5 spots up.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

      All Percentiles Tank (Points)
There's actually some solid movement here, as we see Paladin take 2nd away from DK and Druid take Monk down, with Warrior remaining in last place and DH being far ahead of the pack.
Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Healer (Points)
Healers had some significant changes with the patch, but it hasn't stopped Monk from remaining at the top. Druid moves into 2nd, taking Discipline Priest down a peg, and it seems the Holy Priest patch reworks helped it out, as it gains a spot in 4th.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs and u.gg. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides, as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

In Dragonflight Season 4, Awakened/Fated raids will be on a weekly rotation.
Upon accessing the Adventure Guide and navigating to the Raids section, you'll notice a green gem icon beside the raid that's Awakened for the current week.

When a raid is Awakened, bosses are more powerful and loot drops are upgraded to a higher item level. The upcoming season revisits the Fated system introduced in Shadowlands Season 4.

We've already taken a look at all the items coming to the Trading Post next month, as the Season 4 PTR revealed them, but now let's see them in movement as well! MrGM has detailed everything coming in April, from the awesome Dreadwake mount to a pretty cool polearm, some new capes, and all the other pirate-themed items. Let's take a look.

If you'd rather just scroll through some images, you can head on to our original post here.
