Patch 9.2.5 Season 3 Mythic+ DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings: Weeks 1 and 2

Recommended Posts

There's been a lot of movement in the dungeons with the new patch, as we take our first look at Mythic+ after the 9.2.5 class changes. A sneaky and very familiar face is back on top, after a long period of crawling back up little by little, but now that it's there, it's going to be hard to unseat it.

Note: The logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

These past 2 weeks were:

Fortified Fortified, Bursting Bursting, Storming Storming

Tyrannical TyrannicalRaging RagingVolcanic Volcanic (and Encrypted Encrypted)

All Keys

95th percentile

It's back! Fire has been recovering from its nerfs and other classes' AoE buffs for an entire patch now, and with 9.2.5 they have returned to their throne in Mythic+! It's been creeping up higher and higher, even reaching 2nd place at the tail end of 9.2, but now the long-time dungeon king is back, and it's going to be hard to kick it out! Only Destruction is on par with the spec, as Survival and Windwalker are very slightly lower. The former regent has dropped off significantly with the patch, 4 places in fact, with Subtletly down in 5th from its long, LONG time reign at the very top. Outlaw actually joins it in 6th, leaping a giant 15 spots after its buffs, with Fury, Havoc, and Arcane closing out the top 10. Affliction hasn't really recovered in M+, as they're still in last place, unlike in raids where the patch has lifted them up massively. Arms also got a big boost, rising 6 spots towards the middle of the pack, with the rest shuffling around their previous placements.

All Percentiles

Fire isn't quite back on top in the generalist bracket, but it's still moving up, little by little, gaining 1 spot and joining the top 3. Survival and Destruction move into spots 1 and 2, taking advantage of  Subtletly dropping the same 4 spots as in the high percentiles, with Windwalker moving into 4th and Outlaw landing just outside the top 5 with another giant leap out of the bottom of the barrel.

Higher Keys

+15 Keys

The +15s showcase just how well distributed the class selection is in the higher keys, with only a few points separating the top from the bottom.

+20 Keys

Windwalkers grab the trophy in the 20ies, pushing Survival down one, while Outlaw reaches the top 3 here! Fire is lurking close by as well, just waiting to take everything over, as Subtlety doesn't lose quite as many spots, only dropping 2.

Blood DKs have taken over the tanking charts, but only by a little, as Brewmasters hold on tight. Vengeance has dropped 1 spot as well, with the bottom being reserved for Prot Warriors as usual.

Usually completely unmovable, the healers actually had quite a bit of a commotion with the new patch. While the top spot remains rock solid, Holy Priests move into 2nd as Paladins fall 2 spots into 4th, and Druids rise up into 3rd. Discipline falls down to 5th, as Mistweavers also remain rock solid at the bottom.

take into account that those are average numbers and there huge differences in parses. for example on the 95% all logs fire got 1/6 of the SV/destruction parses. if you look at +20 keys and higher its about 1:10. quantity =/= quality (anyways destruction still does about 60% more overall dmg in forti weeks then fire does, which is just crazy ^^)

If you change your Loot Specialization, Zereth Mortis World and Daily Quests can offer different weapons as rewards.
The game will offer you different rewards from World and Daily Quests on live servers when you switch your Loot Specialization. Here is a short video demonstration video:

You can utilize Loot Specialization switching to collect transmogs or weapons for your off-spec.

Note that this only works in Zereth Mortis and it takes approximately 10 seconds for the rewards to change.

Update: it seems there's only half a mystery here, as I actually just didn't spot the Path of Frost icon, which led to the death. Apologies there. GY port is still a bug though!
It seems someone's been pouring concrete around Stormwind's oceans, as JuliusLeNightmare faced off against some water and lost, only to be teleported to a very far away graveyard.
Now while the teleport to the Tirisfal graveyard and the weird invasion of the zone near Stormwind is a well-known phenomenon/spatial anomaly, the transformation of the water into concrete is slightly weirder! Forsaken conspiracy/concrete pouring or weird bug? You decide!

We've seen many WoW-related Minecraft builds over the years, and this is one of the better ones, as it takes the Alliance capital and transforms it extremely well. After 200 hours of work, @Yunatahel finally finished up and shared the project with the world, so let's take a look!
Warning: potentially loud twitter video sound.
Even the official WoW twitter account commented!

You can also check out a different take on Stormwind (and Orgrimmar) here, and a recent Silvermoon rebuild here.

After today's reveal of the Priest Dragonflight talent tree, Blizzard went into a little more detail for one particular Shadow talent, as it was a little unclear what it did. Here's the basic tooltip we got today, which will be updated.

"Idol of Y'Shaarj: Shadowfiend causes you to gain a benefit based on your target's current emotional state."
      Idol of Y'Shsarj (Source)
Idol of Y’Shaarj will receive a new tooltip as we get closer to Dragonflight. In the meantime though, here’s a breakdown of what it currently does:
      If your target is…
      Above 80% health? → Pride
You and your Shadowfiend deal increased damage while Shadowfiend is active. Enraged? → Anger
Purges the enraged effect and increases your Haste while Shadowfiend is active. Stunned? → Despair
You generate Insanity while Shadowfiend is active. Feared? → Fear
You and your Shadowfiend deal increased damage and do not break fear effects while Shadowfiend is active. No conditions met? → Violence
Duration of Shadowfiend is increased. The priority order is:
      Anger/Despair/Fear → Pride → Violence
As with everything in the talent tree, these effects are subject to change. I hope this clears up some confusion. We’ll continue monitoring the community’s feedback and we look forward to sharing more Dragonflight details in the future!
