BlizzCon Is Set to Return in 2023

It seems Blizzard are planning on bringing back BlizzCon next year, after an almost 3 year absence, as Blizzard President Mike Ybarra mentioned while talking to the Los Angeles Times.

While talking broadly about the new culture at Blizzard, Ybarra talked about plans for a 2023 BlizzCon, saying that the company is commited to bringing it back:

We previously announced we’re taking a pause on BlizzCon while we reimagine it for the future but do want to return to a live event that enables us to celebrate the community.

We recently hired a new leader of BlizzCon, April McKee, who is hard at work on that plan. ... We are committed to bringing back BlizzCon in 2023.

The interview goes in-depth on the topic of Blizzard culture, both new and old, as well as touches on Diablo Immortal's monetization, Jen O'Neal and more, so definitely give it a read

Amount of censorship it's going to have to look good after all this drama... No red shirt guys allowed.

Afaik they did select questions back then, red shirt guy just asked different one than he was supposed to.

Now they could simply have selected questions read by some moderator/host.

The safest process would be among the lines of "Here you have 50 questions to ask, vote for your favourite one and we will answer them".

The game is too big, too many interests to satisfy, too many niche groups, you can't satisfy everyone nowadays, the splits for vanilla players was nice but they should have followed through by having a stronger vision in retail instead of pandering to vocal minorities and dealing with guilt. A great example of how its done is Path of Exile where people regularly ask questions freely and Chris talks to community representatives, while holding onto the core idea of the game without allowing any pollution through bad actors, slander or cultural shifts

The aura of Blizzcon has been tainted for me; I'm not sure I will ever feel the magic as I once had in years prior. I don't know if it started with the Diablo Immortal blunder, it going cold during the pandemic, the behind-the-scenes scandals, the disappointing handling of Warcraft 3: Reforged, the letdowns of the previous two WoW expansions, or some combination of it all.

Probably some combination of it all.

I predict this next one to be a heavily controlled environment, I don't think they trust their fans to loyally eat everything they're spoon-fed anymore. Time will tell.

Yeah, there is potential downside to community representatives that they might only represent various niches. Change something like, let's say, reduce the speed of flying mounts and suddenly you have many upset people, even though some vocal minority would be happy for whatever reason. As for questions, I doubt they would prepare them themselves. They could just select them as usual, but (as mentioned) have the host read them, so no risk of some red shirts changing their accepted questions. Anyway, Q&A from them are rarely worth listening, they often give half-answers or say something that is going to be contradicted later on.

There's a very interesting item datamined on the patch 10.2 PTR and, combined with one other hint, might be pointing to 11.0.
The "Naga Terrarium", which is pretty clearly actually an aquarium, is a backpack-type (presumably) cosmetic item. It's extremely unique and we haven't seen anything quite like it yet. Let's take a look first and then continue speculating.
      Source: LeystTV.
And here it is in action, with some really nice animations:
So, the theme doesn't quite match with the Emerald Dream and it doesn't really feel like it would come from any of the usual sources, even the Trading Post. One of the potential things it could come from is the BlizzCon Virtual Ticket (now renamed the "BlizzCon Collection", since all the streams will be free). Another is as a reward for a potential deluxe edition of 11.0. We've seen future expansions hinted at by datamined items before, specifically with Dragonflight and its deluxe edition's Emerald Drake mount. And if you're thinking it's way too early for something like that and 11.0 now, well, the Dragonflight mount was datamined during the patch 9.1.5 PTR.
Another thing hinting at a possible naga-themed 11.0 is the recent Dawn of the Infinite cinematic we recently took a look at, as the silhouette in the portal may just be Azshara herself!

While some have speculated that the figure is Xal'atath, the sentient entity from the Priest Artifact, Xal'atath, Blade of the Black Empire, the naga queen might be a better fit. The last time we actually saw her, she was literally going into a Void portal, very much like the one Iridikron went into above, while talking about basically going after the power of the Void Lords.
All of this is highly speculative, of course, but such a unique back item could be pretty significant. DO you think this may be a hint at 11.0 or am I overthinking things?

Experiment 12-B has a chance to drop from this week's Cataclysm Timewalking Cache!
It appears Blizzard has added at least 1 very rare mount to the loot table of Timewalking caches received after completing Timewalking raids.
So far, we've seen Ashes of Al'ar drop from the Burning Crusade Timewalking Cache, Invincible from the Wrath Cache, and now, Experiment 12-B has dropped from the Firelands Cache during Cataclysm Timewalking!

The mount has an extremely low chance to drop from Ultraxion in Dragon Soul.

In Guardians of the Dream, you can buy account-wide reputation tokens for alts!
Each token costs 150 Flightstones and increases your reputation by 50. This catch-up does not include the newly-added Dream Wardens 10.2 faction!
For example, Valdrakken Accord Insignia can be purchased from Unatos in Valdrakken.

We're taking a closer look at a new Witch Doctor cosmetics coming in Patch 10.2.
10.2 game files currently contain 3 different tints for Witch Doctor themed cosmetic shields. The items tied to the appearances are Royal Witch Doctor's Guard and Royal Witch Doctor's Trophies. While the first item is listed as a Shield, the second is listed as a Back.
The items will be available at some point in the Trading Post.
