Player Gets Overpowered 400K HP 12K DPS Felguard Monster in Mythic+ and Can't Get Rid of It

Recommended Posts

Here's one of those too good to be true scenarios that quickly turn into a bit of a nightmare. Cc4s2b9x recently got a LOT more than they were bargaining for from a Torghast run, as their Felguard became a rampaging HP and DPS monster, working in Mythic+ and everywhere else - and they just couldn't get rid of it!

While it's no mystery as to how the demon got the extra stats, with the various Warlock Anima powers in the tower (Pact of Infernal Intimacy Pact of Infernal Intimacy, Pact of Thickness Pact of Thickness), the fact that it retained those stats after some disconnects during the Torghast run is. Not having realized this, cc4s2b9x went to do some Mythic+ runs and started noticing Rinnrike the Felguard was a beefy one indeed, still sporting the 440,000 HP and doing around 12,000 DPS, in a +15 key no less!

Clipboard02.jpg

It very quickly became obvious this was a bug, as the demon went back to its regular stats in safe zones like capital cities. Now, we've seen some Torghast powers escape the tower plenty of times during Shadowlands, but this one is a little special, as the fun little bug quickly became a bit of a nightmare. Cc4s2b9x realized what was happening after 2 dungeons, and decided to get rid of the bug, for fear of getting suspended - except that would prove to be a lot harder than you might think. Initially thinking it'd just go away with a game restart, cc4s2b9x had to try and fix it in various way for 5 days!

Trying everything from the simple re-summon, to letting the demon die, respecing, redoing Torghast with different powers, failing a run, even renaming it (and opening a ticket ofc) - nothing worked! Now, obviously simply playing with a different demon is the easiest solution, but the Felguard is an endgame demon so it's not exactly a great option. While searching for the answer cc4s2b9x had to respec to Destro and play that for a while, still in fear of getting suspended. Luckily after consulting the WoW reddit, a solution did eventually come, after a few more unsuccessful ones!

Enter the Glyph of Wrathguard Glyph of Wrathguard, as it arrived to the rescue thanks to redditor nametaken-_, as the beefiest of Felguards went down to its regular stats when aesthetically changed to the different demon.

And the final kicker? If the glyph is removed, the terminator Felguard returns with all of its massive power intact, still at 440K HP and 12K DPS! Will the monster ever be calmed? Will cc4s2b9x forever have an ace up their sleeve is someone really starts to annoy them in PvP or call them out for low DPS in a dungeon?

Why is it not fixed already? If the bug was in their profit making store, they would have it fixed within the hour of it being found, if they can do it there, they can do it everywhere....there is no excuse.

Former IT guy here. When it comes to bug fixing and issues, there are priorities. say someone cannot complete their M+ run because they're perma stunned for some reason, thats not good. thats decent priority and should get fixed, the main goal here is not a perma fix, just have the player roll along and figure out whats causing it and fixing it later, as they have other issues to deal with. Say fixing bugs with the latest raid that make it either hard/impossible/stupid easy, the M+ bug is only affecting a few people and is rather rare, compared to a raid bug, that even if it were occasional, thats upwards of 10 people affected at once and is in an extremely active part of the game, not saying M+ isn't but raids are the end game most new/old players envision. The bug in this post is a lesser example than either, it does break a bit of the game, but more of a positive sense, and the dude can just re-spec or as done here, change to wrathguard, theres a solid workaround here. and if people abuse it intentionally then slap them with a suspension. The reason something like this is slow to fix compared to a profit-related issue. then it isn't just affecting player satisfaction, depending on what it is. the finance team could be screaming at QA/Bug team for wow to fix it. and such would have a higher priority. Not saying I like how blizz do bug fixes, the famous "fix" in Hearthstone mercenaries with the mysterious stranger was unbelievably Appalling. though that could def be linked to finance as people are farming instead of buying packs.

TLDR: priorities are important when it comes to fixes, and this is on the lower end judging from impact of the bug.
On a smaller note, bug fixing is a pain in the *filtered* and can take time, for all i know fixing this bug could cause demonbolt to shoot at the felguard. for some reason. bugs are confusing as hell ;-;

No bug fixing needed, the bug doesn't seem to be easily reproducible and a GM could just remove auras from the target NPC, even private servers have tools for that.

But oh wait, they no longer hire GMs and trying to talk with a real person from support without first giving out your government issued ID and who knows what is impossible.

It seems WoW Token prices have stabilized now after the steep decrease followed by Blizzard's implementation of anti-bot measures, effective November 21.
We're using WoWTokenPrices to compare WoW Token prices in the US and EU regions.
      US Region
The one-day low reached 250,863 gold in the US region, down from 255,976 gold on November 23. The peak soared to 269,216 gold, down from 291,520 gold compared to November 23. As of now, the WoW Token costs 263,465 gold (down from 266,798 gold).

      EU Region
Currently, the WoW Token is valued at 320,982 gold (down from 352,730 gold). The day's lowest price was recorded at 317,016 gold (down from 349,699 gold), contrasting with a high of 342,126 gold (down from 393,678 gold).

As you can see, WoW Token prices continue to decrease slightly in both regions, but the drop isn't as significant.
We'll continue to monitor the latest WoW Token prices, so keep an eye out for further updates!
