Dragonflight 500 Mount Achievement Reward Mount Model Changed

Recommended Posts

We now have an indication of what the new 500 mounts collected reward will be and we're taking a look at the model!

Unfortunately none of the awesome community suggestions we covered earlier today are it (sorry Hazzicopter), and instead we're getting an awesome otter, specifically the Carrier Ottuk Carrier Ottuk!

I practically wrote an essay on the wowhead article (and I'll do it again here) about how booty this mount is for the 500 as well.
Everyone was frothing at the mouth at "omg new otter mount must have thx blizz uwu" but in reality, there were like 5 or so armored otters in the mount journal.
At least the yeti would only have been recolor #4, but this otter is straight up launching with 5 recolors, not to mention the unarmored versions of the otters.
This one needs to be changed as well, all other achievement mounts fall under 3 categories:
Mount with a special/unique recolor (Albino Drake)
Mount with a model with very few recolors (the Kite and the Dragonhawks)
3rd recolor of something we previously only had 2 of (Feltalon, Firehawk, Infernals)
So we need 500 to be something of the same caliber. My personal want is a Fel Green Charhound, an Albino Protodrake, or a Kaluak/Tuskarr Kite. This would fall under any 3 of the usual categories

Uncommon Patron

I would enjoy a palanquin (fantastically lavish carriage cab box) carried by a couple of evoker-model people, and when it flies, they both sprout wings and we soar.

Or a parade float lifted by pocopoc / zereth geometric blobs, so it looks like it has crazy BB-8 wheels until it "takes off" cuz it pocopoc-like splits up into swirly bits to carry us

or maybe a wispy carpet-like cloud to ride on with "weather" coloration matching the zone? (therefore wouldn't resemble the monk disc)

that'd be fun

Blizzard please stop using recolors of other mounts lol. Even though the otter is a new style of mount it isn't unique. You guys should just put that otter as another mount you get in dragonflight 500 mounts should be a completely separate mount.

I am not sure what mount you are remembering, but the Charhound mount from Antorus has the Orange variant from the second boss and the Purple variant from the Meta Achievement for the raid. So there are only currently 2 colors of that mount.
This would also follow the trend of getting the fel green version of the mount from the mount collection achievement, similar to the Feltalon and Fel Firehawk

Whoops, my bad: I meant reskins not recolours;

The 2 charhounds you mentioned
The Undercity Plaguebat
The Gargoyle mounts from 9.1

Not to mention the Argus mounts are pretty much wingless fel charhounds, albeit their 'fel' colour is too dark for them to look like what I imagine you invision

I would just prefer them to use new models like they did with Unshackled Ur'Zul for mythic Argus, don't see why we have to let them put us into the corner of only using recolours for mount achievements just because they have previously

Ah, I mostly hear those referred to as "Remodels" since they are reusing the base skeleton. I mostly hear "reskin" used to describe a mount that isnt a recolor, ie an otter and an armored otter being a reskin. But I digress, they do remodels all the time.
The Cloud Serpent skeleton has been used for probably 5+ mounts of different models. Some examples are the cloud serpent, the abyss worm, the slime serpent, the latest 6month mount, and the wilderling mounts. All of them use the same skeleton but have different models. Charhounds are the only ones with that model, but they use the Demon Hunter Class mount skeleton.
Even the Urzul you mention isnt a unique skeleton, it uses the Gryphon skeleton along with the original DK flying mount, the ebon steed. And while that is a unique model with no recolors, it was used as a Final Mythic boss mount, all of which have been a unique mount since Legion
While I do agree, a unique model reward would be better, it still isn't awful to get a recolor mount as long as they stick with how they have previously done it.

f you haven't created a Dracthyr Evoker yet, now is the perfect time! Starting in July, Dracthyr Evokers will begin at Level 10.
Currently, Dracthyr Evokers start at Level 58, and by the time you finish the intro, you'll be at Level 60. However, this will change with the War Within pre-patch, set to release sometime in July. While the exact date isn't confirmed, we do know that Dracthyr Evokers will then start at Level 10 and reach Level 17-18 after the introduction zone.
To avoid this level reduction, create a Dracthyr Evoker today and enjoy the higher starting level before the pre-patch arrives.

RiskyCB has completed Gate of the Setting Sun in 83 seconds in MoP Remix.
The final boss has a fixed spawn timer and killing him outside doesn't count, so the run took a little over 83 seconds. You can watch the full video down below!

Bronze Cache values increased by 100%. Minor Bronze Cache (250 → 500) Lesser Bronze Cache (500 → 1000) Bronze Cache (750 → 1500) Greater Bronze Cache (1250 → 2500) Spools of Eternal Thread stat gain increased by 200%. Minor Spool of Eternal Thread (20 → 60) Lesser Spool of Eternal Thread (50 → 150) Spool of Eternal Thread (100 → 300) Greater Spool of Eternal Thread (180 → 540) Emperor Shaohao reputation increased by 700%.
      Cataclysm Classic
Druid Balance Developer’s note: We noticed that Balance druid gameplay was seeing a trend towards sitting in Solar and trying not to leave it, especially in Multi-DoT situations. Not engaging with a decent chunk of your core rotation to stay in Solar Eclipse is not a playstyle that we nor the original developers had intended, so we released a change last week that was aimed at preventing mastery snapshotting pre-pull by resetting Eclipse when engaging a boss.
We understand this could be a damage reduction in many scenarios and to address this, Insect Swarm now deals Spellstorm (Arcane/Nature) damage so it can now benefit from Lunar Eclipse. This means that when you end up in Lunar Eclipse, you will still be buffing your two core DoTs. We estimate this change to be about a 15% damage increase to Insect Swarm, which is typically a Balance Druid’s second most damaging ability on non-single target encounters. There may still be situations where staying in Solar Eclipse is ideal, and that’s totally fine, we just don’t think it’s healthy for that to be every situation and on every pull. Starting a boss encounter resets Eclipse energy to 0. Insect Swarm is now considered both an Arcane and a Nature spell, causing it to benefit from both Eclipses. The tooltip will be updated in a future update.

It's buff time! In an upcoming hotfix, Blizzard have decided to dramatically increase Bronze Cache values, Spools of Eternal Thread stat gains, and as if that wasn't enough, the Emperor Shaohao reputation has been buffed by 700%!
      Remix (Source)
      Hello Remixers!
Thank you for all of your continued feedback on the Mists of Pandaria Remix event. We have a few upcoming changes that we hope will address some of your concerns and help make the remainder of the event even more of a blast to blast through.
First, we’ve heard repeatedly that the rate of Bronze acquisition doesn’t feel quite fast enough to allow you to comfortably collect all of the collectables you’re looking for while upgrading your gear. We investigated reducing upgrade costs and crediting players that had already upgraded their gear, but found technical limitations due to how Remix and Dragonflight interact with one another. We landed instead on doubling the value of Bronze Caches as shown below:
Bronze Cache values increased by 100%
Minor Bronze Cache (250 → 500) Lesser Bronze Cache (500 → 1000) Bronze Cache (750 → 1500) Greater Bronze Cache (1250 → 2500) In addition, we want to make powering up to overpower content easier, so we’re going to triple the effect of Spools of Eternal Thread:
Spools of Eternal Thread stat gain increased by 200%.
Minor Spool of Eternal Thread (20 → 60) Lesser Spool of Eternal Thread (50 → 150) Spool of Eternal Thread (100 → 300) Greater Spool of Eternal Thread (180 → 540) These items are both available from a wide variety of content, on both repeatable and one-time-per-character sources, so they should benefit all players whether it’s your first time entering Pandaria or your latest new Timerunner.
Once the hotfix is applied, you’ll see a new buff when you equip your cloak: Timerunner’s Mastery, indicating that the changes are active!
And because it’s a bit of a grind, we’re also increasing Emperor Shaohao reputation by 700%.
Thanks again for all of your feedback on this version of Remix. We will be applying all of these learnings to our future endeavors!

In the latest blue post, Blizzard talks about delves, specifically seasonal progression, death counter, and a mysterious secret 13th delve that won't be available for testing on the Beta!
      (Source)
Hello everyone, welcome to the start of Delves end game testing on the realm, “These Go To Eleven”!
We’re very excited to have people come in and see what we have in store for our endgame difficulty.
We wanted to start things off with a layout of what we currently have, what we’re planning next, and our goals behind these decisions.
Before Season 1 begins in The War Within players will have access to Tiers 1, 2, and 3 difficulty in delves. We expect players who have been keeping up with the current season will prefer tiers 2 and 3, while newer players will begin in tier 1 before graduating up to 2 and eventually 3 when they gear up.
When Season 1 begins we will open up tiers 4 through 11 along with introducing a few mechanics in tiers 4 and above: seasonal progression, death counters, and Zekvir’s Influence.
      Seasonal Progression
Seasonal progress can be obtained from any delve when the season begins. Playing at higher tiers will reward more progress, but players will still be able to complete the season at lower tiers.
We want players to be able to find the difficulty that they enjoy and focus on that without feeling that they need to push higher to complete the seasonal track.
Tiers 9-11 are planned to have a higher difficulty curve as we do not plan on giving out increased power rewards there. They will give out gear at the equivalent of a Tier 8 delve. We’re doing this so we can tune these delves to be particularly difficult without creating the assumption that all players should strive to hit tier 11.
      Death Counter
In Tiers 4 and above players will start with a pool of lives. When you release after dying the counter will lower. Players who reach zero lives can still finish delves, but they will miss out on bonus rewards like cosmetics and unlocking the next tier of difficulty. Every death that happens after you reach zero lives while fighting a boss will grant players a small buff to help them with the final boss fight.
Our goal with the death counter is to give players a barometer to measure their success in a delve without being overly penalizing.
      Zekvir’s Influence
We have our mysterious 13th delve that we will not be releasing to test during the beta. This includes its inhabitant, Zekvir, the Hand of the Harbinger. However, Zekvir will prove to be a threat throughout delves even if he isn’t physically there.
Random groups of enemies will receive various boons from Zekvir. As you go higher in tiers, more groups will be chosen and the boons will increase in their difficulty. Players who are able to defeat these empowered groups will earn increased seasonal progress at the end of the delve.
Our design behind Zekvir’s Influence is to add more challenges in higher tiers beyond, “number go up”. We want to differentiate this from the affix system in Mythic +, which is why this only impacts some groups in a delve as opposed to all of them.
      What’s Next?
On the realm, “These Go To Eleven”, you’ll find a helpful Zandelvari in Stormwind and Orgrimmar who will port you to specific delves. You can also unlock all of Brann Bronzebeard’s curios at rank 1 and set his level to be 10.
Our immediate plans for the beta update after this will be improving the messaging of Zekvir’s Influence, both from who is being impacted by it and how much I am being rewarded for this. We are actively working on this, so expect some more fun things in next week’s update for this.
There will be ongoing balance tuning for the classes and Brann’s abilities as well. Are some tiers too hard for a class? Is tier 11 too easy? Let’s find out!
We’re looking forward to everyone’s feedback. Welcome to the endgame of Delves!
