A First Look at Crafting Orders in Dragonflight

Recommended Posts

Even though crafting orders haven't been fully implemented yet on the Alpha, we've looked at the system in more detail.

In Dragonflight, you can place crafting orders if you want to have a specific item crafted. Just head to Valdrakken and talk to Scaravelle to get started. You can filter out the items through an Auction House-like interface.

When you select the item you want, a new window opens with the option to list your order. You can deposit all or some of the reagents (including optional) required for the recipe, pick for how long the listing will be up, leave a custom message for the crafter, and a tip.

You can set the order to the public, guild only, or private. Crafters will be then able to browse all crafting orders and accept them.

The interface is a WIP (work in progress) on the Dragonflight Alpha and we do not know if crafting orders will work for items from previous expansions or just Dragonflight recipes.

This is, in my opinion, really cool compared to other mmo crafting systems.  I'm actually eager to try this out and play around with it.  I'm curious of Cooking and Alchemy.

Agreed, professions are going to feel fresh again in DF.

Really looking forward to the addition of this feature. Hopefully they also include older expansion content into the system at some point, as well as "Crafting Order" NPCs scattered around at various Auction Houses across Azeroth, not just in the Dragon Isles.

Best part with this feature imho: The ability to buy items from professions that are traditionally BIND ON PICKUP, even if you personally don't have that profession. This to me feels like a pretty big game changer when it comes to crafting and overall gearing. Now, if Blizzard could nail the crafting system in general, making things feel more relevant across the entire expansion, they'd be gold.

The Great Vault in Dragonflight is located in Valdrakken. Find out the exact location and item level of rewards in Season 1!
      Great Vault Location in Dragonflight
While the system is not available for testing on the Beta, the Dragonflight weekly chest is located in Valdrakken, the new hub in Thaldraszus. The Great Vault can be found in the Bank area with the entrance at 55.52 57.23.

Enter the bank and turn right. Here's another shot with coords and an exact map location.

The Dragonflight weekly chest is themed after the dragonflights.

You can purchase Tuskarr-themed backpacks in Azure Span in Dragonflight.
A single item costs 400 Dragon Isles Supplies, a currency gained from assisting friendly factions of the Dragon Isles in their fight against the Primalists. You must reach a certain Renown rank to buy the backpacks.
The items can be purchased from Tiktukk (28.67 34.32) in Azure Span.

Merithra, Ysera's daughter, has a new Visage Form in the Dragonflight expansion and it turns out it's not her but Ysera depicted in the loading screen.
In the Dragonflight loading screen, we see the four dragon aspects, namely Alexstrasza, Nozdormu, Kalecgos, and Ysera, not her daughter Merithra as I had initially anticipated.

Merithra has a Night Elf Visage Form in the Dragonflight expansion, which does not line up with the Elf we see on the Dragonflight loading screen.

You can read more about Ysera in Dragonflight here. Please note the post contains major spoilers that were not available for testing on the Beta because Blizzard most likely wants to hide portions of the story from players, just like they did with Calia Menethil.
Back in August, we covered a mysterious empty area on the map of the Dragon Isles. For further reading on Ysera in Dragonflight, you may also want to read the following post.

You can unlock transmog ensembles for your alts in Dragonflight even if you can't use that armor type, but this does seem to be currently limited to Dragonflight ensembles.
MrGM discovered that you can unlock transmog ensembles for your alts on a single character. Let's say you main a Priest (Cloth Wearer), but would like a Dragonflight ensemble for your Death Knight (Plate Wearer). With the new change, your Priest can buy and learn the Death Knight ensemble (set appearance) and your Death Knight can wear it.
Placeholder for tweet 1573326601122717699 However, the change does not appear to retroactively apply to older ensembles.
