Kalu'ak Whalebone Glider - Wrath Classic Deluxe Mount?

Recommended Posts

Blizzard has hotfixed a new mount to the game called Kalu'ak Whalebone Grinder which wasn't present in the original version of Wrath of the Lich King. We think it's the Wrath Classic Deluxe mount.

Players who buy the Deluxe version of Wrath Classic will possibly receive a Tuskarr-themed kite mount in Wrath Classic it seems. The mount named Kalu'ak Whalebone Glider is both a ground and flying mount. The mount is still encrypted and we cannot show you its appearance. Fortunately, the game already contains some kite mounts (like Pandaren Kite String Pandaren Kite String from Mists of Pandaria) and even a Tuskarr-themed toy (Tuskarr Kite Tuskarr Kite). Combining both should give us a pretty good idea about how it looks before it's officially unveiled.

We have fixes for Wintergrasp, follow, quest fixes and more in today's hotfixes.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic
The Battle for Wintergrasp may now only be joined once per 30-minute queue window. The follow player functionality is now disabled in battlegrounds and arenas. Fixed an issue where the player’s name would occasionally appear as “Unknown” in quest descriptions. Fixed an issue where a disconnect could occur when dismounting a flying mount while ascending. "Blinding the Eyes in the Sky" quest: With a recent hotfix, the Skybreaker Recon Fighters should now be present on this quest. "The Storm King's Vengeance" quest: Storm Clouds should no longer fail to buff Gymer when grabbed on “Storm King’s Vengeance”.

Blizzard have detailed a hotfix that addressed the bugged Battle for Undercity quest by adding a bronze dragonflight NPC that can manually toggle the quest phase, and have also reset the progress for players at a certain stage of the quest line.
      Quest Fix (Source)
Just wanted to follow up on this with an update. As of 4:48 p.m. PDT we’ve deployed a hotfix that will add a member of the Bronze Dragonflight “Zidormi” to Tirisfal Glades near the entrance of the Ruins of Loardaeron (for Horde players) or the entrance to the Undercity Sewers (for the Alliance players) that will allow you to manually enable or disable the quest phase that you are placed in for the “The Battle for the Undercity” quest and event.
Horde – Near the entrance to the Ruins of Lordaeron:

Alliance – Near the entrance to Undercity Sewers:

Additionally, when this hotfix was pushed, it will have reset the phase state for all players that are currently on The Battle for the Undercity quest phase. What this means is if you had completed either “Darkness Stirs” (horde) or “Return to Angrathar” (Alliance) or were on any of the ensuing quests up to and including the “The Battle for the Undercity”, you will be restored to the default phase to see the Undercity, Orgrimmar, and the Throne rooms of both Orgrimmar and Stormwind as if you had never started either of those quest chains.
Here’s a full list of the affected quests:
      • Darkness Stirs
      • Herald of War
      • A Life without Regret
      • The Battle for the Undercity
      • Return to Angrathar
      • Reborn from the Ashes
      • Fate, Up Against Your Will
      • A Royal Coup
      • Killing Time
      • The Battle for the Undercity
Again, if you were actively in-progress for any of these quests, you may need to travel to the Tirisfal Glades and speak with Zidormi to return to the correct phase and resume progress on them either now or at a later time when we are able to implement a full fix for the issues that cause the battle to become stuck. Abandoning and re-accepting these quests will not put you back into the correct phase to see the battle-related events.
This should heal situations where players were “stuck” in the Battle for the Undercity phase and could not interact with vendors or trainers in Orgrimmar or Undercity. The goal with this hotfix was to get players stuck in this phase out of it and skip past this event. We will be doing additional work over the coming days and weeks to further harden the Battle for the Undercity event to make it able to be more consistently completed so that players can get the powerful rewards from this quest more reliably.
We again offer our sincere apologies for these issues, and hope to continue working towards a more complete solution to these issues.

Wrath Classic gets its second batch of hotfixes!
      September 28 (Source)
Northrend Adventuring Supplies now have a chance to award ore, leather, cloth, herbs, and gems. Reduced the number of consumables awarded from the supplies. Developers’ note: We received feedback that the bonus rewards for quests were too frequent, too lucrative, and too targeted at consumables produced by Alchemists, and are making changes to reduce the quantity and increase the diversity of items awarded by these bags. There is still a chance to drop consumables, but also a chance to drop ore, leather, cloth, herbs, or gems. Utgarde Keep The door that closes when starting the Skarvald the Constructor and Dalronn the Controller encounter will properly open again once they are defeated.

Wrath of the Lich King Classic has arrived and there were many players just waiting to get to Northrend... but there were some difficulties present. Even before the launch the excitement was palpable, and the seeds were being planted for one of the issues that would have to get direct GM intervention later on:
With so many people gathering at the docks just waiting for those Northrend boats, it was inevitable that some sailing issues would occur, and just before the actual launch it all began. It seems that the boats were more eager to arrive than the continent of Northrend itself, which saw players get stuck on the high seas, just wandering around loading screens as they went to a not-yet-existing-Northrend, back to Stormwind and then eventually to a disconnect screen:
The problem seemed to persist and more and more players wanted to get to the expansion, leading to a GM intervention bypassing the boats altogether (including a funny spelling correction after that)!
Luckily in the end, some managed to make it over, even by boat!
The issues above were all reserved for those lucky enough to actually get into the game, as the queues were in full force on certain servers, with some pretty intense wait times:

Wrath Classic launch some 9 hours ago and we already have a World First Level 80! Congratulations to Naowh from Echo Guild.
While the vast majority of players face horrendous queue times and cannot even log in to the game, Naowh from Echo is already at Level 80.
Placeholder for tweet 1574653713851219968 To reach Level 80, Naowh apparently used the same grinding strategy present in original Wrath of the Lich King. The player repeatedly defeated an Elite mob in Icecrown that spawns adds. When tagged before new ones are summoned, get full XP for the ones that despawn. Naowh also used dead lever 1 characters to get the full group XP.
Placeholder for tweet 1574658773771231234 Finally, here's the clip with the final moments before reaching 80.
