Big Priest Class Changes in Dragonflight Beta Build 45335

Priests received some significant class changes and new talents in the latest Dragonflight Beta build.

Priest

  • Power Word: Shield Power Word: Shield now has a 7.5 sec cooldown. Shields an ally for 15 sec, absorbing 165% 280% of Spell Power ] damage. You cannot shield the target again for 7.5 sec.
  • Shadow Word: Death Shadow Word: Death now has a 20 sec recharge (was 30).
  • Psychic Scream Psychic Scream's cooldown reduced to 45 seconds (was 60).
  • Shadow Word: Pain Shadow Word: Pain - A word of darkness that causes [ 12.92% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage instantly, and an additional [ 57.53% 76.7% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage over 12 16 sec.

Discipline

  • Atonement Atonement - Power Word: Shield, Shadow Mend, Flash Heal, Renew, and Power Word: Radiance apply Atonement to your target for 15 sec.
  • Rapture Rapture - Immediately Power Word: Shield your target, and for the next 8 sec, Power Word: Shield has no cooldown and absorbs an additional 30% absorbs an additional 200% and may be cast on targets with Weakened Soul.
  • Power of the Dark Side Power of the Dark Side - Shadow Word: Pain / Purge the Wicked has a chance to empower your next Penance with Shadow, increasing its effectiveness by 50% 30%.
  • Improved Power Word: Radiance renamed to Light's Promise Light's Promise. Power Word: Radiance has gains an additional cooldown charge.
  • Mind Sear Mind Sear - Cast time reduced to 4 seconds (was 4.5). Corrosive shadow energy radiates from the target, dealing 98.3% 117.9% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage over 4.5 4 sec to all enemies within 10 yards of the target. Generates 6 Insanity over the duration per target hit. Costs 0 Insanity every 1 sec while channeled. Cast time changed to 4 sec (was 4.5).
  • Shadow Mend Shadow Mend - Wraps an ally in shadows which heal for [ 320% 352% of Spell Power ], but at a price. The ally will take [ 16% 17.6% of Spell Power ] damage every 1 sec, until they have taken [ 160% 176% of Spell Power ] total damage from all sources, or leave combat. Now has a 15 sec cooldown.
  • Psychic Voice Psychic Voice - Reduces the cooldown of Psychic Scream by 30 15 sec.
  • Purge the Wicked Purge the Wicked - Cleanses the target with fire, causing [ 22.3% of Spell Power ] Fire Radiant damage and an additional [ 124% of Spell Power ] Fire Radiant damage over 20 sec. Spreads to an additional nearby enemy when you cast Penance on the target.
  • Halo Halo - Creates a ring of Holy energy around you that quickly expands to a 30 yd radius, healing allies for [ 115% up to 161% of Spell Power ] and dealing [ 103% up to 144.2% of Spell Power ] Holy damage to enemies. Deals additional damage and healing to targets further away from you, up to a maximum of 25 yards. Healing reduced beyond 6 targets.

Holy

  • Renewed Faith Renewed Faith - Your healing is increased by 5% 8% on targets with your Renew.
  • Trail of Light Trail of Light - When you cast Heal or Flash Heal, 35% 18% of the healing is replicated to the previous target you healed with Heal or Flash Heal.
  • Enlightenment Enlightenment - You regenerate mana 5% 10% faster.
  • Psychic Voice Psychic Voice - Reduces the cooldown of Psychic Scream by 30 15 sec.
  • Surge of Light Surge of Light - Your healing spells and Smite have a 8% 4% chance to make your next Flash Heal instant and cost no mana. Stacks to 2.
  • Benediction Benediction - Your Prayer of Mending has a 25% 15% chance to leave a Renew on each target it heals.
  • Light of the Naaru Light of the Naaru - The cooldowns of your Holy Words are reduced by an additional 33% 10% when you cast the relevant spells.
  • Halo Halo - Creates a ring of Holy energy around you that quickly expands to a 30 yd radius, healing allies for [ 115% up to 161% of Spell Power ] and dealing [ 103% up to 144.2% of Spell Power ] Holy damage to enemies. Deals additional damage and healing to targets further away from you, up to a maximum of 25 yards. Healing reduced beyond 6 targets.

Shadow

  • Void Eruption Void Eruption's cooldown increased to 2 minutes (was 1.5).
  • Dispersion Dispersion changed.
    • Normal: Disperse into pure shadow energy, reducing all damage taken by 75% for 6 sec and healing you for 25% of your maximum health over its duration, but you are unable to attack or cast spells. Increases movement speed by 50% and makes you immune to all movement impairing effects. Castable while stunned, feared, or silenced.
    • Intangibility: Disperse into pure shadow energy, reducing all damage taken by 75% for 6 sec and healing you for 50% of your maximum health over its duration, but you are unable to attack or cast spells. Increases movement speed by 50% and makes you immune to all movement impairing effects. Castable while stunned, feared, or silenced.
  • Void Bolt Void Bolt - Sends a bolt of pure void energy at the enemy, causing [ 81.6% 100% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage. Cooldown increased to 9 seconds (was 4.5).
  • Mind Sear Mind Sear - Cast time reduced to 4 seconds (was 4.5). Corrosive shadow energy radiates from the target, dealing 98.3% 117.9% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage over 4.5 4 sec to all enemies within 10 yards of the target. Generates 6 Insanity over the duration per target hit. Costs 0 Insanity every 1 sec while channeled. Cast time changed to 4 sec (was 4.5).

  • Shadow Crash Shadow Crash - Hurl a bolt of slow-moving Shadow energy at the destination, dealing [ 191.25% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage to all targets within 8 yards and applying Vampiric Touch to 4 of them.
  • Psychic Link Psychic Link - Mind Blast deals 30% and Mind Spike deal 15% of its damage to all other targets afflicted by your Vampiric Touch within 40 yards.
  • Hungering Void Hungering Void - Void Bolt causes the target to become vulnerable to the void, increasing their damage taken from you by 10% for 6 12 sec. This effect may only be active on one target at a time. Casting Void Bolt on an enemy that is already vulnerable extends the duration of your Voidform by 1 2 sec, or 2 4 sec if Void Bolt critically strikes.
  • Ancient Madness Ancient Madness - Cooldown increased to 2 minutes (was 1.5).

New Talents

  • Catharstick Catharstick (PvP Talent) - 20% of all damage that you take is stored in the Catharstick. The stored amount cannot exceed 15% of your maximum health. The initial damage of your next Shadow Word: Pain / Purge the Wicked deals this stored damage to your target.
  • Void Tendrils Void Tendrils - Summons shadowy tendrils, rooting up to 5 enemy targets within 8 yards for 20 sec or until the tendril is killed. (Instant, Costs 1% of Base Mana, 60 sec cooldown)
  • Divine Aegis Divine Aegis - Critical heals create a protective shield on the target, absorbing 15% of the amount healed. Lasts 15 sec. Critical heals with Power Word: Shield absorb 15% additional damage.
  • Angelic Bulwark Angelic Bulwark - When an attack brings you below [ 30 + 25% of Spell Power ]% health, you gain an absorption shield equal to 15% of your maximum health for 20 sec. Cannot occur more than once every 90 sec.
  • Halo Halo - Creates a ring of Shadow energy around you that quickly expands to a 30 yd radius, healing allies for up to [ 161% of Spell Power ] and dealing up to [ 144.2% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage to enemies. Deals additional damage and healing to targets further away from you, up to a maximum of 25 yards. Healing reduced beyond 6 targets. (1.5 sec cast, Costs 1% of base Mana, 30 yd range, 40 sec cooldown)
  • Divine Star Divine Star - Throw a Divine Star forward 24 yds, healing allies in its path for [ 70% of Spell Power ] and dealing [ 56% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage to enemies. After reaching its destination, the Divine Star returns to you, healing allies and damaging enemies in its path again. Healing reduced beyond 6 targets.
  • Dark Void Dark Void - Unleashes an explosion of dark energy around your target, dealing [ 68% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage and applying Shadow Word: Pain to your target and [ 68% of Spell Power - 1 ] nearby enemies. Generates 20 Insanity. (2 sec cast, 40 yd range, 30 sec cooldown)
  • Depth of the Shadows Depth of the Shadows - Each time Purge the Wicked or Shadow Word: Pain deals damage, the healing of your next Shadow Mend is increased by 2%, up to a maximum of 50%.
  • Death and Madness Death and Madness - Spell description is missing but a similar spell comes with the following tooltip: If your Shadow Word: Death fails to kill a target at or below 20% health, its cooldown is reset. If a target dies within 7 sec after being struck by your Shadow Word: Death, you gain 30 Insanity over 4 sec.
  • Rhapsody Rhapsody - For every 5 sec that you do not cast Holy Nova, the healing and damage of your next Holy Nova is increased by 10%. This effect can stack up to 20 times.
  • Move with Grace Move with Grace - Leap of Faith's cooldown is reduced by 30 sec.
  • Improved Fade Improved Fade - Reduces the cooldown of Fade by 5 sec.
  • Apathy Apathy - Your Mind Blast critical strikes reduce your target's movement speed by 75% for 4 sec.
  • Spell Warding Spell Warding - Reduces all magic damage taken by 3%.
  • Inspiration Inspiration - Reduces your target's physical damage taken by 5% for 15 sec after a critical heal with Flash Heal or Penance.
  • Enduring Luminescence Enduring Luminescence - Power Word: Radiance applies Atonement at an additional 15% of its normal duration.
  • Bright Pupil Bright Pupil - Reduces the cooldown of Power Word: Radiance by 5 sec.
  • Painful Punishment Painful Punishment - Each Penance bolt extends the duration of Shadow Word: Pain and Purge the Wicked on enemies hit by 0.7 sec.
  • Borrowed Time Borrowed Time - Casting Power Word: Shield increases your Haste by 4% for 4 sec.
  • Improved Shadow Word: Pain Improved Shadow Word: Pain - Increases the damage of Shadow Word: Pain and Purge the Wicked by 8%.
  • Train of Thought Train of Thought - Flash Heal, Renew, and Shadow Mend reduce the cooldown of Power Word: Shield by 1.0 sec. Smite reduces the cooldown of Penance by 0.5 sec.
  • Balance In All Things Balance In All Things - Your damaging Shadow spells increase the damage of your next Holy spell cast within 6 sec sec by 15%. Your damaging Holy spells increase the damage of your next Shadow spell cast within 6 sec sec by 15%.
  • Blessed Recovery Blessed Recovery - After being struck by a melee or ranged critical hit, heal 20% of the damage taken over 6 sec.
  • Fiending Dark Fiending Dark - Your Smite, Mind Blast, and Penance casts reduce the cooldown of Shadowfiend by 3 sec or Mindbender by 1 sec.
  • Resplendent Light Resplendent Light - Light's Wrath deals an additional 2% damage per ally affected by your Atonement.
  • Wrath, Unleashed Wrath, Unleashed - Reduces the cast time of Light's Wrath by 1 sec and increases its critical strike chance by 15%. Smite deals 40% additional damage for 15 sec after casting Light's Wrath.
  • Weal and Woe Weal and Woe - Your Penance bolts increase the damage of your next Smite by 8% or the absorb of your next Power Word: Shield by 3%. Stacks up to 7 times.
  • Expiation Expiation - Increases the damage of Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Death by 10%. Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Death consume 3 sec of Shadow Word: Pain or Purge the Wicked, instantly dealing that damage.
  • Healing Chorus Healing Chorus - Your Renew healing increases the healing done by your next Circle of Healing by 2%, stacking up to 25 times.
  • Tools of the Cloth Tools of the Cloth - For 12 sec after casting Power Word: Shield, you deal 10% additional damage and healing with Smite and Holy Nova.
  • Sheer Terror Sheer Terror - Increases the amount of damage required to break your Psychic Scream by 75%.
  • Crisis Management Crisis Management - Increases the critical strike chance of Flash Heal and Heal by 8%.
  • Prismatic Echoes Prismatic Echoes - Increases the healing done by your Mastery: Echo of Light by 15%.
  • Orison Orison - Circle of Healing heals 1 additional ally and its cooldown is reduced by 3 sec.
  • Halo Halo - Creates a ring of Holy energy around you that quickly expands to a 30 yd radius, healing allies for up to [ 161% of Spell Power ] and dealing up to [ 144.2% of Spell Power ] Holy damage to enemies. Deals additional damage and healing to targets further away from you, up to a maximum of 25 yards. Healing reduced beyond 6 targets.
  • Prayers of the Virtuous Prayers of the Virtuous - Prayer of Mending jumps 1 additional times.
  • Twist of Fate Twist of Fate - After damaging or healing a target below 35% health, gain 5% increased damage and healing for 8 sec.
  • Lightweaver Lightweaver - Flash Heal reduces the cast time of your next Heal within 20 sec by 30% and increases its healing done by 15%. Stacks up to 2 times.
  • Pontifex Pontifex - Critical heals from Flash Heal and Heal increase your healing done by your next Holy Word spell by 10%, stacking up to 2 times.
  • Manipulation - Your Smite and Penance casts reduce the cooldown of Mindgames by 1 sec.
  • Harmonious Apparatus Harmonious Apparatus - Circle of Healing reduces the cooldown of Holy Word: Sanctify, Prayer of Mending reduces the cooldown of Holy Word: Serenity, and Holy Fire reduces the cooldown of Holy Word: Chastise by 4 sec.
  • Make Amends Make Amends - When your Penance deals damage, the duration of Atonement on yourself is increased by 1 sec and when your Penance heals, the duration of Atonement on your target is increased by 1 sec.
  • Lightweaver Lightweaver - Flash Heal reduces the cast time of your next Heal within 20 sec by 30% and increases its healing done by 15%. Stacks up to 2 times.
  • Mind Melt Mind Melt - Mind Spike reduces cast time of your next Mind Blast by 50%, stacking up to 2 times. Lasts 6 sec.
  • Dark Evangelism Dark Evangelism - Your Mind Flay and Mind Sear damage increases the damage of your periodic Shadow effects by 1%, stacking up to 5 times.
  • Piercing Shadows Piercing Shadows - Your Shadow spell casts increase your Shadow damage by 0.5% for 25 sec. Stacks up to 5 times.
  • Dark Ascension Dark Ascension - Consumes Dark Evangelism to increase the damage of your non-periodic Shadow spells by 4% per stack consumed. Lasts 18 sec. (1.5 sec cast, 2 min cooldown)
  • Shattered Perceptions Shattered Perceptions - Mindgames lasts an additional 2 sec, deals an additional 25% initial damage, and reverses an additional 25% damage or healing.
  • Archbishop Benedictus' Restitution Archbishop Benedictus' Restitution - After Spirit of Redemption expires, you will revive at up to 100% health, based on your effectiveness during Spirit of Redemption. After reviving, you cannot benefit from Spirit of Redemption for 10 min.
  • Mastermind Mastermind - Increases the critical strike chance of Mind Spike and Mind Blast by 3% and increases their critical strike damage bonus by 15%.
  • Whispers of the Damned Whispers of the Damned - Your Mind Blast and Mind Spike critical strikes generate an additional 3 Insanity.
  • Say Your Prayers Say Your Prayers - Prayer of Mending has a 15% chance to not consume a charge when it jumps to a new target.
  • Everlasting Light Everlasting Light - Heal restores up to 15% additional health, based on your missing mana.
  • Holy Mending Holy Mending - When Prayer of Mending jumps to a target affected by your Renew, that target is instantly healed for [ 37.5% of Spell Power ].
  • Fiending Dark Fiending Dark - When Prayer of Mending jumps to a target affected by your Renew, that target is instantly healed for [ 37.5% of Spell Power ].
  • Revitalizing Prayers Revitalizing Prayers - Prayer of Healing has a 30% chance to apply a 6 second Renew to allies it heals.
  • Maddening Touch Maddening Touch - Vampiric Touch has a 50% chance to generate 1 Insanity each time it deals damage.
  • Prayerful Litany Prayerful Litany - Prayer of Healing heals for 30% more to the most injured ally it affects.
  • Derangement Derangement - Increases the initial damage of Devouring Plague by 75%. Mind Sear deals damage 20% faster.

  • Maddening Touch Maddening Touch - Vampiric Touch has a 50% chance to generate 1 Insanity each time it deals damage.

  • Tormented Spirits Tormented Spirits - Your Shadow Word: Pain damage has a 5% chance to create a shadowy version of yourself that floats towards all targets afflicted by your Vampiric Touch. Critical strikes increase the chance to 10%.

  • Painbreaker's Psalm Painbreaker's Psalm - Shadow Word: Death consumes 4 sec of Shadow Word: Pain and Vampiric Touch, instantly dealing that damage to the target and generating up to 10 Insanity.
  • Harnessed Shadows [NYI] Harnessed Shadows [NYI] - Coming soon!
  • Pain of Death - Increases the damage dealt by Shadow Word: Death by 25%. Shadow Word: Death deals 20% of its damage to all targets affected by your Shadow Word: Pain within 40 yards.
  • Empowered Renew Empowered Renew - Renew instantly heals your target for 10% of its total periodic effect.
  • Lunacy Lunacy - Reduces the Insanity cost of Devouring Plague by 10. Reduces the Insanity drained when Mind Sear deals damage by 5.
  • Rapid Recovery Rapid Recovery - Increases healing done by Renew by 35%, but decreases its base duration by 3 sec.
  • Spirited Litany Spirited Litany - After your Prayer of Mending heals 40 times, gain Power Infusion for 10 sec.
  • Desperate Times Desperate Times - Increases healing by 6% on friendly targets at or below 50% health.
  • Empowered Renew Empowered Renew - Renew instantly heals your target for 10% of its total periodic effect.
  • Mind Flay: Insanity Mind Flay: Insanity - Assaults the target's mind with Shadow energy, causing [ 231.12% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage over 4.5 sec and slowing their movement speed by 50%. (4.5 sec cast, 40 yd range)
  • Mind Flay: Insanity Mind Flay: Insanity - Casting Devouring Plague transforms your Mind Flay spell into Mind Flay: Insanity for 5 sec. Mind Flay: Insanity deals 80% more damage than Mind Flay.
  • Dark Void Dark Void - Unleashes an explosion of dark energy around your target, dealing [ 68% of Spell Power ] Shadow damage and applying Shadow Word: Pain to your target and [ 68% of Spell Power - 1 ] nearby enemies. Generates 20 Insanity.

PvP Talents

  • Miracle Worker Miracle Worker - Holy Word: Serenity now has 2 charges and a 10% reduced cooldown gains an additional charge.
  • Shadow Word: Death (Rank 2) renamed to Eternal Rest Eternal RestShadow Word: Death's cooldown is reduced by 10 sec. Reduces the cooldown of Shadow Word: Death by 12 sec. Unlocked at honor level 10.

      This week's Dragonflight Beta update reveals more information about the new Dragonflight Season 1 affix - Thundering!
      The new affix will be active in all +10 runs and above. It is themed after Raszageth, the final boss found within the Vaults of the Incarnates raid. It is very similar to Quaking.
      Thundering - While in combat, players are periodically caught in Raszageth's unending storm. As the storm passes, players discharge excess energy that can damage and stun allies.

      Mythic +0 dungeons and Raid Finder bosses no longer drop Rare Quality gear on the Beta. The seemingly visual change has been reverted to Epic Quality.
      In the previous build ,we reported about Mythic +0 dungeons and select Raid Finder bosses in the Vaults raid dropping Rare Quality gear.


      However, Blizzard has reverted the loot quality to its previous state and Mythic +0 dungeons as well as bosses on Raid Finder difficulty again drop Epic Quality gear.

      Tier sets and set bonuses are now available for testing on the Dragonflight Beta. You can purchase them from a vendor on the Valdrakken max level realm.
      Talk to Setzertauren in Orgrimmar and Stormwind to get started!

      Please note Tier Sets are only available for testing on Valdrakken. Koranos and Tyrhold do not have them. Happy testing!

      We've looked at the various UI improvements that went live this week on the Beta!
      It is now more obvious when Vigor (Dragonriding resource) is recharging. The color of the individual nodes has been updated.

      The Dragon Isles Summary tab received a new minimap icon.

      The UI art for Dragonriding Talents is in.

      The Great Vault UI received new art for Dragonflight.
