The creation catalyst can most likely be found in Thaldraszus at coords  59.6, 53.7 - near Tyr Hold. I know this because I found an NPC called Antuka (Catalyst Steward).

Your release date is out by a week, 6 weeks from the 13th of December falls on January 17th not the 23rd

It depends on whether you count Dec 13 as the first week since "the 6th week after the Mythic raid becomes available", falls on Jan 24. 

However, if they go with the Shadowlands Creation Catalyst cadence, we can expect it to launch on Jan 17. We'll keep you posted and fix the date when we get more details from Blizzard.

Please clarify that only RANDOM tertiary stats are carried over to the tier item when using the catalyst to convert. GUARANTEED tertiary stats are NOT carried over. I learned this the hard way.

Would be helpful to know how to get eligible items for the previous season if you're looking for transmog.

Hey, thanks for your feedback, do you mean transmog item levels for previous seasons? You'll need to wait until the Season 1 raid isn't Awakened to farm gear for transmog from the Vault of the Incarnates.

Not quite. 

In season 3, I knew I could do Suffusion Camps to get Season 2 gear that I could use in the catalyst for Transmog. What the equivalent for Season 4 where I can get Season 3 gear for transmog.

is it possible to update this since season 4 started? 
Many items that should be eligible for upgrading now aren't or do I need to reacquire them during the season 4 window?

You can only transform Season 4 items into set pieces; gear from previous seasons can only be used for transmog. Just to clarify, you don't "upgrade" items in the Catalyst—instead, you use it to convert non-set items into class set pieces.

I remember finding an item that I couldn’t convert into a tier set; it was gear from the cache I received for completing the Weekly Timewalking Raid quest. To this day, I’m not sure if it was a bug.

The guide should be updated for Season 4. If you notice any inconsistencies, please let me know, and I'll make the necessary corrections.

Sorry for the dumb question but how do I unlock the catalyst? I saw there is a quest that Watcher Kronos is supposed to give but he doesnt have any quests for me. Is there a pre-requisite? Sorry im so lost.

There shouldn't be any quests, you should have it unlocked when you visit the location. But there's a quest in Valdrakken that will guide you there for the first time.
