A 75 GB update for the Diablo 4 client became available earlier today, suggesting Closed Beta may start soon.

Diablo 4 entered very limited testing almost a month ago when select players were invited to partake in a confidential test. The client has now been updated with a new 75 GB update which is available for download. Check your Battle.net client and e-mail. Beta may just be around the corner!

More details about the patch can be found on BlizzTrack.

I just downloaded the beta test files - But I can't open the game, yet. Although, I was able to see the Intro (one time).

Update: On Oct. 21, 2022, I can now see "Create character, but that's it and game locks up my system. is ANYONE else loading the beta test files and not able to actually play the game?

New Update: I was able to see the Intro and select a character and the options for that character, as well as, options for gameplay. All of this was "choppy" (I run 8 gigs of RAM). Then everything stopped at the entrance to the game and stayed that way for an extended period of time before I finally disconnected. I guess eventually I'll actually be able to play the game. Anyone else with a similar situation?

im trying to play today diablo 4 but all the time the game is close after the diablo 4 logo .. dont now why ...

Hopefully it’s a new patch… I’m playing on a PS4 and it Stalls and is seriously Herky-Jerky.  I think I’m occasionally playing with others or maybe some AI (which is unlikely), but I can’t get the Chat to work.

I dig it so far, but I’m a little lost.  It’s hard to figure where you’ve been on the Map because it doesn’t seem to change in the Places you’ve already been.  And I’m still pretty Low Level because my wife needs the TV for Work some of the Day.

And it’s hard to avoid accidentally murdilating the widdew bunny wabbits..

Any of you guys know where there are any Builds or at least some Basic Info on the Tree and Stuff?  Bliz should have a nice Video Help Intro to the Game for us Beta Folks.

I don't think we are allowed to talk about anything regarding this beta publicly...

I dig... I was just wondering if anyone had Build Ideas from the Officially Released stuff.

Unfortunately the beta doesn't run on windows 11 so despite being invited to test it I am unable to do so 😏

Works fine on windows 11 from day one

You only have a few hours left to unlock the Diablo 4 Open Beta rewards before servers go offline.
Diablo 4 Open Beta ends soon and when the servers are taken down, you will no longer be able to claim Open Beta rewards, which include:
Initial Casualty Title: earned by reaching Kyovashad with one character. Early Voyager Title: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character. Beta Wolf Pack Cosmetic Item: earned by reaching Level 20 on one character.
All you must do is reach Level 20 with one character. The rewards will be granted when the game releases on June 6.

It seems the World Boss has a new nemesis after the daylight savings time one was defeated, as wudjio has managed to solo the boss and even did it on Hardcore mode! And that's not all, as he then went on to repeat the kill once more!
It seems the gear from that one level 35 elite and all the legendaries that are dropping all added up quite nicely in this ranged Rogue build. Now, technically neither of the kills was a 100% clean solo, as there were was one Necromancer that came in in each pull - with 2% on the boss left in the first kill, and literally shot 1-2 abilities then ran in the second. But it's very clear both were indeed entirely soloed as there was plenty of time left, especially since it usually takes all 12 players at max level to take the boss down. Let's take a look!
But that's nothing compared to the other kill, which took less than 3 minutes, courtesy of Vidjereii!

We still have just under 2 days in the Diablo 4 open beta and by now many players have gotten to level 25 with at least one character, so it's definitely time to farm up some legendaries and get a taste of some proper buildcrafting! Luckily the Diablo 4 community has found some great farming spots, and we'll be taking a look at those today.
First off there's the one everyone's probably heard about, the lone level 35 mob in the Beta, Osgar Reede, who can be farmed for high level gear by imprinting an aspect on it so it can be usable by us lowly level 25 peasants. He always drops his mace, which is great for Barbarians, but generally you want to get pretty much your whole gear set from him for the highest power level. You can find him here:

      Source: Jehl703.

However, good ol' Osgar won't be of much help with gold or legendaries to use to imprint onto those high level items, and the aspects unlocked in the dungeons (a list and locations for which you can find here) are always at the minimum level for that particular power. That's where the Diablo 4 reddit community comes in, as they've been discussing the best farm spots for a while, and while there isn't an exact consensus, there are a couple of really good spots:
Mercy Reach dungeon (in the North West): there are many elites at the start here and you don't even want to finish the dungeon, just clear the elites, of which there should be around 10. Leave the dungeon by using the reset all dungeons button on the map screen, which will also automatically port you out, and go again! (Source.)
Forsaken Quarry dungeon: high mob density and only kill requirement for boss entry (but you should still probably skip the boss). (Source.)
Malnok Stronghold: there are three level 27 elites in the Stronghold event, however, you need to not complete the event to be able to clear them again when they respawn. Alternatively, clearing the Stronghold gives you access to a new dungeon, Anica's Claim, which is also good for elites, has plenty of shrines, and is also a pretty short run (2ish minutes). (Source.)
Then there's the World Boss, but considering it's on a long timer it isn't really worth it. However, you can clear him several times per reset, if you're fast enough with your kills, by leaving the game after the kill and getting into a different instance after you come back. If you're only aiming for legendaries, the ultimate farming trick is to have a group and split up (if you have builds good enough to efficiently solo in multiplayer), as you don't have to pick legendaries up at all, as they all get sent to your stash if you don't. And so your party can just cover a lot of ground and head to town after a few clears to check what you got. You will miss all the rare items, but if you're getting them from Osgar the level 35 elite then you don't really need these anyway (but the gold farm aspect is basically gone).
Hopefully this helps you to get some gear to get a better feel of some of the classes, as the Druid and Barbarian in particular are very legendary-dependent, and feel weak to play without either a few specific ones or a lot of general ones. You can always check out or class guides for some build ideas as well.

Blizzard have posted an update with the issues they're working to improve on the Diablo 4 Beta.
      Known Issues (Source)
      Hello everyone -
Diablo IV Open Beta has begun and we want to thank everyone for jumping back into the world of Sanctuary. These beta tests are a crucial part of our development and help us make the game experience better for everyone as we head toward launch in June. Today, we have seen more players than ever log into the game. We are excited to see all the enthusiasm about the game and the two new available classes for testing (Druid & Necromancer) this weekend.
We want to provide an update on some of the major items the team is currently working on after the start of Open Beta earlier this morning.
We are looking at an issue where players disconnect from the game and are unable to rejoin after disconnecting. This is tied to a few other items that players are experiencing such as party errors and some network performance issues in-game. There is an issue where Windows 11 users may run into a crash upon alt-tabbing while in Fullscreen. We do have a workaround for that and it is located here on this thread 4. Some users are also experiencing issues with in-game voice dialogue. A workaround for this issue is for users to leave the game and go into their game settings and adjust language settings to English. English is currently the only available language available for voice dialogue in beta. We will have other languages available in the final game. Beyond this list, the team is working on many other reported items and capturing them so we can address them either during beta or before launch.
As we noted earlier this week, we do expect queue times this weekend while we manage the flow of players in-game as we tackle these issues. We expect queue times to fluctuate depending on the time of day and traffic depending on where you are located. There may be a time where we need to take the servers down to perform maintenance and to push out an update. We will make sure to notify the community beforehand when and if that occurs.
We will continue providing updates either later this evening or tomorrow morning (PDT) once we have additional information.
Thank you again for the enthusiasm and feedback as we help bring Diablo IV to everyone come June.
