Dragonflight Pre-Patch Mythic+ DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings: Week 2

Recommended Posts

Clipboard02.jpg

It's time to take a look at how things are shaking up in week 2 of the pre-patch, after the big tuning pass from last week. We find the old king rules still, as Fire has gotten a taste of the top once again and doesn't seem like it's letting go any time soon, but the rest of the rankings are significantly different.

Note: The logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

This past week was:

Fortified Fortified, Sanguine Sanguine, Grievous Grievous (and Shrouded Shrouded)

All Keys

95th percentile

Well, while the rankings have changed significantly post-tuning, one thing hasn't changed at all, and that's the reign of Fire. The spec wasn't touched in the changes and generally speaking, once Fire gets a hold of the top spot, it won't let go for about half an expansion. Luckily it's only the pre-patch, so we'll (hopefully) see a new No.1 soon.

In the rest of the rankings we see Rogues rejoice... well, Outlaw only, as the spec climbs to 2nd while its fellow class mates are both at the literal bottom. In a very confusing turn of events, Windwalkers are doing better than the week before, despite getting a pretty hefty nerf in the tuning, but it seems the spec is nerf-proof! Balance gained 3 spots and moved just above Affliction, the current king of raids, as Beast Mastery sits in a Warlock sandwich, but at least its not down in the bottom like its two fellow Hunters.

All Percentiles

The generalist bracket has the same specs at the top, but jumbled around quite a bit, as Balance and Affliction complete the top 3 (since Fire isn't going anywhere until the expansion), pushing Outlaw into 4th. Beast Mastery is doing quite a bit better here, as Windwalkers aren't quite as high up, but also didn't move much after the nerf either. The very bottom here is also reserved for Rogues ad Hunters, with Frost DK joining them.

Tanks

Vengeance may have climbed to the top of the tank list, but it's Protection Warrior that's making the most waves, as it climbs 2 spots into 2nd, as Blood DK has to settle for 3rd.

Healers

The healers haven't had any changes since last week, which is pretty standard for them, as they may remain like this until the end of the pre-patch.

In Battle for Azeroth, players were given the choice to side with Sylvanas, but the latest Dragonflight questline involving Odyn lacks any choice leaving Warrior players unhappy.
Back in Battle for Azeroth, Horde players could either side with Sylvanas or against her during the story. Patch 10.2 introduces a similar questline that revolves around Odyn and Vyranoth. If you didn't play through it, I won't go into any spoilers, but Warrior players were not particularly happy with how the questline was executed, as they could not side with Odyn.
As a testament to that, we have the following Reddit thread with over 1.9K upvotes by Reddit user Maleficent-Way-2046 who says "I am a Warrior and have the Battlelord title, I carry Warswords of the Valarjar, why would I side against Odyn?" Well, that's a good question!
Instead, Blizzard could have given Warriors a choice to side with Odyn and some special interactions based on their choice. What do you think?

Resolved an issue causing Fyrakk's energy bar to increase too quickly in Stage Three on Mythic difficulty. Dawn of the Infinite: Galakrond's Fall Iridikron Timeline Transcendence's 100% damage increase now also increases the damage of an affected player's pets and summons even if they are not within Chromie's bubble. Timeline Transcendence no longer applies onto pets or summons. The Everbloom Ancient Protectors The visual effect for Dhulu's Noxious Discharge have been updated. Items
Augury of the Primal Flame proc rate increased by 50% and damage decreased by 33%. Fixed an issue where Branch of the Tormented Ancient would not reset its cooldown upon ending an encounter. Vaskarn, the dracthyr vendor in the Emerald Dream's Central Encampment, will now display her crest trade-up items to anyone who has earned the right to purchase them, even if they cannot currently purchase them because they are too close to the cap on the higher-level crest.
      Player versus Player
Removed rank text from all Rated PvP gear, including PvP Class Sets. Developers' note: This change does not effect item levels or upgrade tracks. Mage Arcane Fixed an issue that caused the Amirdrassil 4-set bonus to not be reduced in PvP combat. Frost Fixed an issue that caused Frost Bomb 's explosion to be prevented by Grounding Totem.
