Updated: All Dragon Isle Rare Mob Loot and Reputation Disabled Temporarily

Update: Blizzard have now re-enabled the rare drops and reputation, having fixed the issue.

Yes, just a few minutes ago. The rares and their drops should be now working as expected.

Blizzard have announced they will be disabling loot drops and reputation gains from all Dragon Isles rare mobs due to the daily limit not working properly. They hope to fix the bug and reinstante loot and reputation within the next few hours.

With a temporary hotfix, we recently made it so that all rare enemies in the Dragon Isles, such as Cinta the Forgotten, Windseeker Avash, and Drakewing do not drop loot or reputation. We’re working on a bug that’s causing drops from rare enemies to disobey the daily loot lockout.

We expect to have that bug fixed in the next few hours, and at that time, we’ll turn their drops back on, and they should drop their goods on a daily basis going forward.

if you were playing the beta, would you have killed a rare and killed it again to see if something happened or just moved on like most people probably do?

I would if I was beta testing and not wasting time just trying to entertain myself.

Beta used to be for testing and not marketing.

With all respect, I disagree. I worked for Microsoft back at the turn of the century, and it was at that point widely understood across the software development world that beta tests, especially open ones, were primarily marketing activities. "Volunteer" users have never been good development testers, and while some useful data could be gleaned from increasing the load on a system, it was always the testdevs who were relied upon for >99% of the useful bug reports.

Of the criticisms of Blizzard to be made in the time since then, I think, it may be that they've tried to become more reliant on the customer base for "testing" the product, not less -- in the name of cutting headcount costs.

      The War Within pre-patch introduced several bugs. One notable issue affects the Tusks of Mannoroth, which reduces your Strength by 1.
      Instead of increasing stats, equipping the Tusks of Mannoroth from Garrosh Hellscream actually results in a loss of stats. It appears that Blizzard's recent item adjustments have caused some unintended problems. Given the complexity of balancing content across ten expansions, such issues are not entirely surprising.

      The latest War Within Beta build comes with hints that the Awakening the Machine event in the Ringing Deeps may have been scrapped.
      Many lines referring to the Awakening the Machine event have been removed from the database files in the most recent War Within Beta build, suggesting Blizzard may have decided to scrap it entirely!

      The outdoor event revolved around defeating waves of mobs while keeping an NPC alive. It was extremely buggy on the Beta with mobs not despawning upon reaching 0 health.
      Here's a short overview of the event from our previous article:
      Awakening the Machine Outdoor Event Overview
      At the beginning of the event you must talk to Speaker Kuldas to get started.

      When you click at the box at the beginning, you can choose from one out of three Awakening Powers for your run. These work just like Torghast Anima Powers, empowering your character in various ways.

      When you start the event, your goal is to keep the Speaker alive while he conducts the Rites of Awakening.

      Every 5 waves, there's a small break and you can select an additional Awakening Power to aid you in defending Kuldas. When his health reaches 0, you must start from the beginning.

      The run ends when you defeat 20 cummulative waves of mobs. One of the new War Within weekly quests lets you select this activity and awards 1 Treasure Trove Key used in Bountiful Delves to open a Bountiful Treasure Trove.

      You can buy additional Awakening Powers at various Renown ranks with the Assembly of the Deeps faction from R-K-MEDES in the Ringing Deeps.

      It's Not Much, But It's Honest Work requires players to defeat the Awakened Phalax in Awakening The Machine for the Machine Defense Unit 1-11 mount.

      Blizzard has added a shiny new login screen in the latest War Within Beta build. Check it out!
      The previous War Within login screen has been replaced with a new one. It shows Dornogal, the capital city of the new expansion.
      It almost looks like a portal.
