How to Quickly Obtain Item Level 366 Starter Gear in Dragonflight

Recommended Posts

rnlupqm.jpg

Here's an easy way to obtain Item Level 366 starter gear in Dragonflight.

Make sure War Mode is turned on. If it isn't, visit Stormwind/Orgrimmar, press "N", and Enable War Mode in the bottom right corner of the UI.

In Valdrakken, visit Gladiator's Refuge at (entrance at 40.7 44.69) and turn right as you enter. You will see Fieldmaster Emberath <War Mode Quartermaster>, selling Item Level 366 gear for Bloody Tokens.

How Much Bloody Tokens Does the Gear Cost?

Drakebreaker's Set Bonuses

Wearing 2/4/6 pieces of Drakebreaker's GGear activates the following set bonuses:

  • (2) Set: Versatility increased by 105.
  • (4) Set: When you are stunned, harden your resolve, absorbing up to 51,779 damage for 10 sec. Cannot occur more than once every 2 min.
  • (6) Set: Killing enemy players grants Breaker's Frenzy, increasing versatility and movement speed by 2%. Can stack up to 10 times.

Drakebreaker's Gear can be further upgraded to Item Level 385 with Trophy of Strife Trophy of Strife.

You will also need the lower item-level version of the item you'd like to upgrade.

How to Get Bloody Tokens?

Blood Tokens come from World Quests in Dragonflight. Look at the World Map, which quests will reward them.

Turn on PVP? What, are gankers running out of people to screw with and it's ruining their source of serotonin?
You don't even state how many Bloody Tokens a single world quest rewards. How long would I have to stay in War Mode?

Yeah…not sure I’d categorize World PVP and related world quests as a way to “quickly obtain starter gear” for the average player given the headache involved outside of those who like that sort of thing.

Not sure I'd categorize "It's in Valdrakken city and very easy to get" as Starter gear either.  I've completed two beacons and almost the entire first map zone, and afaict I'm nowhere near being introduced to the central city yet.

You can just go straight to Valdrakken if you want. There is nothing restricting "under level" characters from going there or any other zone that is above their level.

You're funny.  The portals don't work until a main character activates them (I've checked), and the alts don't get a dragonmount until a main character activates those too.

For literal "straight to" you need a warlock friend and some random clicker to summon you there, and the non-starter warlock has to already be there.

Hey, remember Archaeology? Well, the man with the deep voice is back again to talk about it. If you're bored with Dragonflight or you’re one of those “must collect everything” people, Danta has another easy, but still time-consuming (as he points out himself) guide that can help you obtain a lot of rare items, pets and mounts from Archaeology!
One  of the cooler things  you can get is the Vial of the Sands recipe, which, once crafted,  gets you the very unique Sandstone Drake mount! It actually turns you into a dragon so you can carry a person with/on you and it's getting Dynamic Flight in the upcoming War Within pre-patch. There are some other cool mounts as well, Ultramarine Qiraji Battle Tank and the Spirit of Eche'ro (which is an entirely separate thing in and of itself). And that's not even mentioning the many toys, pets, titles and transmogs you can get from it.
The method itself (which some of you may already be familiar with) involves using Mantid digsites and converting all MoP digsites into them with the Mantid Artifact Sonic Locator, which then lets you have plenty of Restored Artifacts to trade for whichever mount/item you're going for. You should check out the video for the full details and what you'll need to get.
You can see all the artifact types and rare items that may contain in his video description! Also, you can skip to 3:00 in the video to skip the Archaeology basics.

Blizzard has just posted a short story titled "A Whisper of Warning" about Alleria Windrunner and her new mission.
      (Source)
Khadgar has dispatched Alleria Windrunner on a dark mission, one that portends an uncertain future for Azeroth. Before she departs, she visits her lost home of Silvermoon on a mission of peace and connection. Much remains unsaid between Alleria and her son, Arator—hindered by fear and misunderstanding—but Alleria would have her son know his mother and her intentions before a new evil threatens Azeroth again.
The afternoon sun filtered through the crimson leaves overhead as Alleria Windrunner walked the path toward Silvermoon City. In times past, happier times, she might have flown or used a portal to appear inside the city walls, but as it was, she approached warily, as if nearing a sleeping beast that did not wake gently. Once, she had defended these walls, these people. But now?
Now, to many, she was the source of danger.

On the War Within Alpha, Haughty Chicken has made an interesting observation on a Khaz Algar mural. This post contains spoilers.
It seems we might have a glimpse of a fifth Old God. Some theories from the community suggest that this could be Xal'atath's true form, especially since her whereabouts have been unknown since she aided N'Zoth in the Battle for Azeroth. Now she's back as a powerful villain going into the War Within expansion.
The mural further decipts the Old God creature trying to get ahold of a crystal that is very similar to the Hallowfall one.

      Source: Twitter
Red Shirt Guy also pointed out that the crystals in Talador share striking similarities with those in Hallowfall, noting the resemblance in their runes.
Placeholder for tweet 1787108156155232260 What is this mysterious crystal? Could it be a Naaru vessel / crashed ship? Or is it simply the sword that Sargeras plunged into Azeroth? Let us know what you think down in the comments.

We're back to Aberrus in week 2 of Season 4, as the Awakened raids continue to rotate! As you'd expect, everything has changed, with only a few specs remaining close to where they were last week in Vault, so let's see the chaos unfold! One important thing to note is that not only are the rankings different because it's a different raid, gear is also piling up for players and so specs are getting better and better, so we should start seeing which specs are good in all three raids pretty soon.
Note: We are using Normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. The u.gg rankings at the bottom are raw DPS. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it's AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.
      Mythic
      Overall Damage 95th Percentile
The last time we looked at Aberrus, an Evoker was on top as well - but it wasn't the same one! Devastation takes advantage of the incorrect logging for Augmentation and grabs the top spot! Frost Mage is the overall leader in Season 4 so far, as it was in 3rd in Vault and now sits in 2nd. Unholy is very much up since last week, with Shadow actually sitting relatively stable behind it, up 3. Arms is also in the both-raids-top-10, gaining 4 spots in 5th, while Retribution rises up from the bottom half in Vault. Last week's/raid's No.1 finds itself down in 7th, but is still doing pretty well overall, while fellow Hunter Beast Mastery only drops 3. Arcane is another very stable spec, only moving 2 spots (up), while Subtlety closes out the top 10, coming in from the bottom half. Speaking of the bottom, Fury and Balance find themselves in the final 3, joining the permanent resident Augmentation.

      Overall Damage All Percentiles
Deva is at the very top here as well, but we do see Arms doing a lot better. However, the Warrior was up very high in Vault as well, only gaining 1 spot this week and definitely carrying that "overall best" title for the generalist bracket in Season 4 so far. Retribution makes an even bigger giant leap here, with Frost Mage up a few spots, Beast Mastery extremely stable in the same No.5 slot, same as Shadow in No.6.

      Boss Only Damage All Percentiles
Arms is at the very top in the direct damage chart, as we see three Fyr'alath wielders in the top 4, only disturbed by that pesky Evoker.

      Heroic
      Overall Damage All Percentiles
Heroic players don't really seem to care about the raid switch or different boss dynamics, as the chart is pretty stable. Arms takes down Enhancement in 3rd, with Devastation being the biggest change in 4th.

      U.GG Raw Mythic DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks. This chart is for Mythic only.
We see the same specs around the top here as well, but in a different configuration. Retribution actually takes the top spot from Devastation, but both Arms and Frost are very strong at the top. Arcane is doing a lot better, with Demonology being the biggest difference between these and the points-based rankings.

Blizzard just announced some last-minute class tuning coming tomorrow with the launch of Patch 10.2.7!
      (Source)
We have continued to closely monitor data on class performance and feedback from players. With scheduled weekly maintenance in each region, we’ll make the following adjustments to classes that are over- and under-performing in group content and PvP.
      Classes
Demon Hunter Vengeance Sigil of Silence duration reduced to 4 seconds (was 5 seconds). Sigil of Silence cooldown increased to 90 seconds (was 60 seconds). Cycle of Binding now reduces Sigil cooldowns by 2 seconds per trigger (was 3 seconds). Soul Cleave damage reduced by 8%. Druid Balance Season 4 (2) Set Bonus now increases the damage of your next Wrath or Starfire by 50% (was 30%). Season 4 (2) Set Bonus new reduces the Astral Power cost of your next Starsurge or Starfall by 30 (was 15) and increases the damage it does by 60% (was 40%). Monk Brewmaster Keg Smash damage reduced by 10%. Spinning Crane Kick damage reduced by 10%. Summon White Tiger Statue damage reduced by 30%. Effectiveness of Stagger against magical attacks increased to 55% (was 45%). Healing Sphere healing increased by 10%. Rogue Assassination Ability and auto-attack damage increased by 6%. Does not affect PvP combat. Fixed an issue that caused the Assassination Rogue Season 3/Season 4 bonus to do slightly less damage than intended. Warlock Affliction Doom Blossom damage increased by 10%. Vile Taint damage increased by 25%. Soul Flame damage increased by 20%. Soul Rot damage increased by 5%. Destruction Chaos Bolt damage increased by 3%. Conflagrate damage increased by 5%. Incinerate damage increased by 5%. Warrior Fury All ability damage increased by 3%. Season 4 Set Bonus (2): Rampage damage and critical strike chance increased by 15% (was 12%). Season 4 Set Bonus (4): Bloodthirst bonus damage increased to 35% per stack (was 30%). Protection Developers’ notes: Our goal for these changes is to reduce Protection Warrior deaths to the dangers that are most likely to kill them, like burst or magic damage. There are some talents that warriors have for protection against these threats, like Disrupting Shout, Bolster, or Battle-Scarred Veteran, but it can be difficult to find the talent points for them. To provide more build flexibility we are reducing the power of the Battering Ram talent and moving its damage and defensive benefits into core abilities. We’re also increasing damage across the board and buffing some defensive talent options. All ability damage increased by 5%. Devastator damage increased by 30%. Ignore Pain healing increased by 6%. Disrupting Shout’s cooldown reduced to 75 seconds (was 90 seconds). Enduring Alacrity increases Stamina and Armor by 10% (was 5%) and Haste by 2% (was 1%). Battering Ram now increases your auto-attack damage and speed by 10% for 20 seconds (was 20%). Player versus Player

Unholy Death Coil damage increased by 75% in PvP combat (was 60%). Festering Wound damage increased by 190% in PvP combat (was 180%). Frost Fever damage increased by 25% in PvP combat. Druid Balance Moonkin Aura’s Starsurge now grants 2% increased spell critical strike chance per stack (was 4%). Evoker Preservation Time of Need healing reduced by 25% in PvP combat. Hunter Marksmanship Rapid Fire damage increased by 45% in PvP combat (was 30%). Aimed Shot damage increased by 55% in PvP combat (was 40%). Sniper Shot now deals 15% of the target’s health (was 20%). Priest Discipline Atonement healing increased by 11% in PvP combat. Power Word: Radiance healing increased by 10% in PvP combat. Shadow Word: Pain and Purge the Wicked damage increased by 15% in PvP combat. Holy Spirit of the Redeemer now reduces the duration of Spirit of Redemption by 9 seconds (was 8 seconds). Kingsbane damage over time reduced by 8% in PvP combat (was 20%). Improved Garrote damage bonus now reduced to 20% in PvP combat (was 30%). Outlaw Between the Eyes damage is no longer increased by 12% in PvP combat. Ace Up Your Sleeve now has 4% chance to trigger per combo point spent and grants 4 combo points in PvP combat (base 5% chance and 5 combo points).
