Paid Faction Changes Now Available in Wrath Classic

Paid Faction Changes are now available to players in Wrath Classic.

Blizzard today enabled paid faction changes in Wrath Classic and announced faction change packs that can save you money if you plan on switching to the other side with multiple characters.

Paid Faction Changes are now available to Wrath of the Lich King™ Classic players.  Get more on Faction Change Bundles during our introductory offer*.

Faction Change Bundles

Take a walk on the other side with 30% off one or three Faction Changes, and until February 27, you can get two additional Faction Changes for the price of six. The Faction Change item will now allow the purchase of multiple Faction Changes at one time or save some for future use.

Changing your faction also includes a free race change** for your class, so you’ll fit in with your new friends when you join them on their adventures all over Azeroth.

Available Faction Change pack options:

  • 1 for $21.00 (Regularly $30.00)
  • 3 for $42.00 (Regularly $60.00)
  • 6 8 for $95.00

Ready to make your move? Purchase Faction Change Packs from the Battle.net shop or launch World of Warcraft and click on the Shop button on the character select screen.

Once you’ve purchased your Faction Changes within the Battle.net shop or the in-game shop, a new icon will appear on your character selection screen. To activate a game service, click on the token, then select the character you wish to change. Any unused Faction Change tokens will remain on your account for use at a future time.

* Offer only available for Wrath of the Lich King Classic through February 27, 2023. After February 27, the largest available Faction Change will include 6 Faction Changes for the current offer price of 8.
**Wrath Classic Faction Change service cannot be applied to a character that completed a faction change in the past 30 Days.

      Changes to Death Knight Character Creation Restrictions Coming

      Blizzard just announced that, in addition to having banned 120,000 malicious accounts, they will be reverting Death Knight character creation limits to what they originally were, meaning you will not be able to create a DK unless you have a level 55 character on your account already.

      Greetings,
      Over the past few weeks, we’ve taken actions that removed almost 120,000 malicious accounts from the World of Warcraft ecosystem, including both Wrath of the Lich King Classic and Classic Era. This is in addition to our usual, ongoing banwaves, which often include actions against tens of thousands of accounts per week.
      As a supplement to these recent actions, we want you to know that as of next week’s regional maintenance, we will be returning the original Death Knight character creation restrictions to Wrath of the Lich King Classic. This means that unless you already have a level 55 character on your account, you will be unable to create a Death Knight. We felt it was very important for the launch of Wrath of the Lich King classic to give anyone who wanted to hop into this iconic expansion the ability to do so with as few barriers as possible. Allowing every account access to Death Knights-- even if they did not meet the historic requirements --was important. However, now that the initial launch period has passed, we no longer wish to allow the unrestricted creation of Death Knights on brand new accounts. It’s a tempting vector for malicious actors to use to get into the game and start exploiting very quickly.
      We hope that this helps slow the proliferation of malicious behavior in Wrath of the Lich King Classic. It’s important to keep in mind that as long as there is a demand for gold and other services that players are willing to pay real money for, these malicious actors will keep coming back. Please-- never hesitate to report suspected cheating such as buying and selling gold for real money, automation, and advertisements for power leveling or any real-money sales in chat. Your reports greatly help our efforts to take actions that improve the game.

      Free Character Transfers in Wrath Classic: March 3rd

      Blizzard enabled free character transfers between the two most populated (locked) Wrath Classic realms in each region.

      Since the introduction of the Faction Change service 1 in Wrath of the Lich King Classic, we’ve received a lot of feedback from players currently playing on locked, single-faction realms. They would like to faction change and move to the other locked realm in their region.
      We’ve just temporarily opened Free Character Transfers between the two most populated (locked) realms in each region:
