wow New Potential Evoker Spells Added in Patch 10.1 Build 48661

We've heard rumors of a third Evoker spec, as hinted by a placeholder quest on the 10.1 PTR, and the latest build seems to add more potential spells and 36 entries in the database table of Empowered Evoker spells.

The following spell has been updated in 10.1 Build 48661 with a cooldown and initially looked like an NPC spell. Notice the "Emerald" prefix, typical for Green Evoker spells.

• Emerald Infusion - Infuse yourself with Emerald Power, healing yourself for 20% and 10% of your maximum health over 10 sec. (Instant, 45-sec cooldown)

The second and third spells appear to be intended for NPCs, as both are seemingly overpowered and without cooldown. "Azure" is also typical for Blue Evoker spells...

• Iron Roots - Raising their shield the dracthyr protects their allies within 10 yards, reducing their damage received by 90%.
• Azure Prowess - Empowers an ally, increasing their damage done by 25%. (1.5-sec cast, 30 yd range)

However, the real find, as Reddit user scottishwanderer, highlighted, is the addition of 36 new entries in the database table of Empowered Evoker spells in the latest 10.1 build. This table contains all Empowered Evoker spells.

It will be interesting to see what the spells are intended for in the future.

Tinfoil hat time : In the reddit post, there is a mention of a Jolt spell, as well as an image of a Storm Dragon. Remember them from Legion? What if they were supposed to be a 6th Dragonflight with Raszageth as their Aspect? Now that would be cool. A spec that combines both Black and Storm Dragon spells

Not adding a tank spec was a huge disappointment for me I tried the dps and heals and not a fan.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The fans want a black dragon flight tank spec evoker. They already have a dps and a heals spec........  I think if this spec turns out to be anything but a black dragonflight tank evoker spec- people will be disappointed.

That being said, if it is a support type class (as some speculate) I will give credit to Blizz for trying a "gutsy" move. (Sometimes you have to shake things up- it has been the same three roles for almost twenty years now). It would be up to Blizz to balance the class right to make it worth playing and they would have to provide opportunities for it to shine in the raids and dungeons. I could see it working. The balancing point would be that it would have to add enough to the raid so it makes it worth bringing one dps or healer less.

Honestly, with the latest patch speaking on how their power was being sapped, it wouldnt surprise me at all if they add the 3rd spec.

Feels bad for DH though.
