Individual Guides for All New Runewords - Diablo II: Resurrected Ladder Season 3

Helm Runeword can only be created by players who are currently on a Ladder character during Ladder Season 3, or in Offline Single-Player mode. Completed Ladder Runeword items can be moved with the player to regular play at the conclusion of the Ladder, but new ones cannot be created in non-Ladder online games.

If you attempt create this Runeword on non-Ladder online character, it will simply be a collection of Runes without the special Runeword properties. Don't waste your Runes!

Strengths of the Hearth Runeword:

Can be very good for certain bosses that use Cold attacks, such as Duriel, Diablo, Baal, and Izual.

Easily-farmed runes accessible by early Nightmare

Decent additions to defense and maximum Life to help with overall survivability, particularly for Mercenaries.

Cold Absorb is an unusual property only found in a handful of Unique items, at ten levels below the next lowest Cold Absorb item (the Ravenfrost ring at 45).

Weaknesses of the Hearth Runeword:

Cold attacks are not as deadly as other types, and Cold Resistance itself is not uncommon.

A strong mid-game contender for not a lot of investment, but won't have staying power.

Strengths of the Temper Runeword:

Can be very good for certain bosses that use Fire attacks, such as Diablo, or farming heavy-fire areas such as Travincal and the Chaos Sanctuary.

Fire attacks are not only among the most common, but they're one of the deadliest.

Easily-farmed runes accessible by early Nightmare

Decent additions to defense and maximum Life to help with overall survivability, particularly for Mercenaries.

Fire Absorb is an unusual property only found in a handful of Unique items, at ten levels below the next lowest Fire Absorb item (the Dwarf Starring at 45).

Weaknesses of the Hearth Runeword:

A strong mid-game contender for not a lot of investment, but won't have staying power.

Strengths of the Metamorphosis Runeword:

Great AoE damage as a Werewolf with Werebear durability

High novelty factor

Great synergy with the Bone Break Sundered charm.

Flexible gear choices.

Can be built on a Druid Pelt base.

Weaknesses of the Metamorphosis Runeword:

Requires Bone Break or another solution such as Reaper's Toll to break Physical immunity.

Auras for the two Marks are not visually distinctive enough; can be easy to lose track when buffs wear off (particularly if you are using the recommended Heart of the Wolverine Spirit).

Shifts between Wolf and Bear forms are slow, since they have to go through the Human form between, which can leave a Druid vulnerable.

Hotkey set can get unwieldy and complex.

Hustle is an excellent melee/ranged focused body armor with a huge 40% Increased Attack Speed and +20 Faster Hit Recovery, with some other nice features to go along with it.

Strengths of the Hustle Runeword:

Increase Attack Speed is a very rare trait for armor of any kind; only one other armor Runeword has it.

Fastest Run/Walk of any single item in game

Nice supporting cast of features

Weaknesses of the Hustle Runeword:

Not itemized well for a caster

No enhanced defense

Not that useful for Mercenaries

Assassins have a better option in just a few levels

Better Runeword armor options later will limit this armor's staying power

Fanaticism is a rare emanate, especially on a relatively inexpensive Runeword

Higher Attack Speed than any other melee weapon Runewords

3-socket Weapons are usually very easy to find

Weaknesses of the Hustle Runeword:

Weak for casters

May not be best choice for Bowazons given the alternative

Mosaic is a Claw-based Runeword that is clearly aimed at Martial Arts Assassins. With extensive class changes made to improve the Martial Arts Assassin, Phoenix Dragon Talon is now S-tier, in no small part to Mosaic.

Strengths of the Mosaic Runeword

Chance for finishing moves not to consume charges is doubled when dual wielding (100% chance)

Excellent support traits such as bonus skills, enhanced damage, attack rating, and a range of elemental improvements

Makes other martial arts claws in its level range obsolete

Will have excellent staying power for Martial Arts builds

Weaknesses of the Mosaic Runeword

3 socket requirement places some limits on base item choices (no War Fist or Battle Cestus)

Not a good choice for Trapsins
