An Overview of Racial Ability Changes in Patch 10.1

Check out the changes to racial spells coming in Embers of Neltharion.

Racial Spell Changes in Patch 10.1

Hardiness Hardiness (Orc Racial) has been nerfed to bring it in line with other crowd-control changes implemented in Embers of Neltharion. The spell's stun reduction has been reduced by 50%.

Calm the Wolf Calm the Wolf (New Worgen Racial) - Worgen received a new racial which makes them automatically assume Human Form when they leave combat. You will learn the racial automatically with Two Forms Two Forms.

The Worgen Racial was inspired by Dracthyr's Visage Visage as many players wanted a similar option for the Worgen to switch between Human and Worgen forms when entering in and out of combat.

When enabled, your character will automatically assume Worgen Form when entering combat.

When leaving combat, you will transform into a Human again.

I wonder if they'll add new racials for older races or maybe rework them.

In comparison to newer races, they just feel outdated

I'd say it's more that older racials, at least for the Horde, are far more powerful than what has been added for new races. The berserking racial for Trolls, in particular, will almost always make them the best Horde race for any class.

you are wrong, i can explain to you, yes horde has superior racials, but is the taurens that has it the most OP, simply because they are some massive muscular bodies that are 100% covered in bodyhair, you cant top that.

i say buff alli racials then it will balance because 75% playerbase is horde. but dont know it that works horde is just much more reliable.

Was hoping they were going to address their crit% racial that is...bottom of the pack 😳

So many of the newer racials are mirrored on each side, they might as well just change it to be the Alliance on-use for haste.

I see lots of comments from people saying that Horde have better racial abilities. This is simply not true when it comes to PvP. Alliance racials are far better for PvP. Dark Iron Dwarf and Dwarf have very powerful remove bleed, poison, Magic etc making it possible to survive rogue and druid attacks. Humans get to use two offensive trinkets as they don't need the anti stun. Gnomes have a really good anti kite racial etc. The horde extra damage racials enjoyed by Trolls and Orcs are really small and dont contribute much damage overall.

Personally I think the time has come to be able to pick your own racial abilities from the existing pool. So if you want to play an orc with Stoneform or a dwarf with Bloodfury you can.

The old racials feel more utilitarian and the new ones feel more fun.

Will to Survive and Diplomacy are more practical while Bag of Tricks and Make Camp are more flavorful.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
