MrGM Interview with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas About Patch 10.1

Recommended Posts

Content creator and streamer MrGM talked to Game Director Ion Hazzikostas about Patch 10.1 and here's a recap of the interview.

Interview VoD

  • The team's morale is good.
  • Patch 10.1.5 will hit PTR realms soon.
  • Legacy reputation will eventually become account-wide, it's just not a priority right now.
  • There is no third spec for Evokers in 10.1, but anything is possible in the future. Datamining hints at discarded experiments that never made it live (when referring to spells).
  • Cross-faction limitations like not being able to queue for instanced content are results of old technology that needs to be updated. A lot of issues need to be fixed first, one at a time, because the game was never designed for cross-faction play. The general idea about cross-faction play is tearing down the barriers.
  • Being Battle.net Friends or members of the same community are requirements for inviting people into cross-faction guilds and they are in place to avoid confusion. Think of it as /invite and /ginvite.
  • They always try to pick the most popular raid for Timewalking.
  • Queue for Timewalking Raids isn't currently planned, because during that week, a raid would only be available on that difficulty and players wouldn't be able to complete transmog runs.
  • There are no plans to make more slots for the Dracthyr visible.
  • Bank is crusty, they spoke about updating it, but that would be a future expansion feature.
  • Burning Crusade Dungeon bosses had simple mechanics and they would need to update them from the ground up for them to be included in Mythic+.
  • A new megadungeon is coming in Patch 10.1.5 and we'll learn more about it soon.
  • Trader's Tender is the first truly account-wide currency and uses new tech, they might use it in the future when it makes sense.
  • Skips for old long raids is something they may implement in the future.
  • BfA bosses will be adjusted most likely in Patch 10.1.5 to become soloable.
  • Shadowlands LFR Solo Queue is possibly coming in Patch 10.1.5.

I love megadungeons. I hope it's some Blackrock Depths style abyss where we're just lost for 4 hours until we learn it inside and out in 6 months or so.

Danta is back with another soloing guide, this time, covering how to obtain Glory of the Uldir Raider achievement that rewards a crawg mount!
Glory of the Uldir Raider rewards the Bloodgorged Crawg mount and you must enter Uldir, the first Battle for Azeroth raid, to earn the achievement and get the mount.
Here's what the mount looks like:
      Bloodgorged Crawg
This crawg was left alone to feast on G'huun's corrupted blood and rot. He was so happy.

The Uldir meta-achievement requires players to complete a total of 8 achievements (1 per boss). For more details, you can watch Danta's video linked below.
In case you've missed it, there's also a guide on how to solo the Tomb raider meta-achievement.

It's surprising to learn just how many racial abilities have been removed from WoW over the years (or changed/nerfed enough as to basically be a different ability). Today we have hirumaredx going over some of the most overpowered and fun ones.
The first one triggers me greatly, as the idea of tauren just running around really fast instead of mounting was one of the reasons I even installed WoW back in the day in the first place! The video also talks about Priest-specific racial spells , some that don't fit the OP or fun description of the video, the Blood Elf ones you knew would be featured, and more.

During one raid, we got to see the Fyr'alath bad luck protection buff work wonders, yielding 12 drops from a single Fyrakk kill.
Sacolas shared an interesting shot on Reddit, showing 12 Fyr'alaths dropping simultaneously! This might just be the record for the most Fyr'alath the Dreamrender drops we've seen from a single kill to date. Sadly, the original poster missed out on the quest item, and looted instead a Greater Ember of Fyr'alath. Here's hoping for better luck next week!

What's the highest number of Fyr'alaths you've seen drop from one kill? Let us know in the comments below!
